...

Ah! The Prince felt his startled eyes fling open as his hand instinctively went to his chest. Just another bad dream... A sigh escaped his mouth as he tumbled out of bed. How... How could he have been so foolish?? He couldn't get the unsettling feeling that crept in his stomach from a conversation he had yesterday. A shiver snaked down his spine as it rung as clear as day.

"Don't worry, I am doing this all for you."

"T... This isn't what I want. I don't need you to talk about ... Killing my parents over a silly argument... Surprisingly, isn't making me feel better."

"You just don't know it yet."

A shiver escaped down his spine as he swiftly moved towards the white door in front of him, grasping the metallic doorknob, only to retreat away from the exit from his chamber.

...

He didn't mind staying in his bedroom all day if it meant other people were safe. He felt himself doubling back to the comfort of his blankets and pillows... But his eyes wandered towards the softly blowing blinds of his room. Oh, how he missed conversating with... With his friend... Wait, did he ever hear his name?

He closed his eyes as the tall figure enclosed his memories. Handsome. Leafy wings that were cursed with the ability to never fly and those dashing eyes that burnt his soul.

A small knock at the door anxiously pivoted him out of his thoughts. Was it time for the annual charity event? Surely it wasn't until a month later... He planned to stay in his room until that date. See nobody. See not him. Nobody. Yes, nobody. He told everybody to leave him alone... To not disturb him unless necessary.

"Who is it?" He tiptoed lightly towards the door and cracked it open just a tad; just so he could spot the silhouette of whoever dared stand at his door but... Nothing.

Fuck, am I hearing things?

"Hey, sweetie," a small hue crept onto his face as he felt his hands shut the creamy door in front of him. His eyes didn't dare to move around. His feet were glued to the floor. His  words jumbled in his throat.

"I hope you weren't hoping to stay in here forever. I started to get worried when you didn't come down to the tree to talk," the male pouted, his hands softly began to shut the window; however, Rugu spun around! His eyes narrowed as he threw his finger up in an accusatory manner.

"Stop that!"

"Hm?" The male stopped. His curious eyes softened down into an expression he couldn't read. "I thought it'd be beneficial if nobody could hear what we were saying. Didn't you say it yourself? Ah, I remember: you don't think anybody would wanna listen to you talk for hours and hours on end? However, I do. I want to know your opinion on something."

The male by the window crept forward, his pacing was slow but meticulous. His eyes never faltered off of the Prince— who only felt the coldness of the door behind him.

"I... How did you even get in here?" Rugu blinked, feeling for the doorknob to release him away from the intruder. The male only towered over the Prince, leaned forward and slammed something inches away from his face.

"Would you believe me if I told you that I did your guards?" A light joke fluttered out of the taller male's lips as Rugu's eyes darted towards the object... His heart stopped. Fell silent. Was that... A...

"I want to know your opinion on something, may I ask?" That was often the starter question the male used to get Rugu to talk. They talked about a lot of things: his passions, his dreams, if he had any animals, how many guards (an estimate) he thought he had, etc etc.

"... S... Sure. Just, give me space."

A small laugh fluttered the room and yet again, a small hue returned to his face.
CHRIST!! HOW COULD HE BLUSH WHEN HE FOUND OUT THIS INDIVIDUAL WAS WANTED BY THE LAW?? ... That was all he knew about this individual.

"Did I ever tell you when your eyes are narrowed like that, it's cute?"

"Was that your question?" The male raised an eyebrow, a strange surge of confidence filling his veins.

"Will you run away with me?"

"What?" The words fell out of his mouth as quickly as he heard the male's question. Was this... Some joke? A sick joke-?

"Run away with me. Away from this place. Everywhere, Rugu. Just the two of us."

"That's improbable. As someone as confident and smart as yourself, I'd thought you'd see that. Plus, I don't even know your name. Anything about you. Your morals... except you're a criminal wanted by law."

A boisterous laugh escaped the taller male's lungs as the male who had once granted Rugu personal space began to violate the Prince's orders. "Ah, so that guard that spotted us must've told you about me!" His eyes twinkled as he pressed his lips softly together.

Rugu didn't dare speak.

"Gamma. My name is Gamma," the male's — Gamma's —  fingers softly raced themselves up the squirming Prince as a smile carved itself on his warm features. It was unlike he, Rugu, had ever seen. It was if something dark had awoken inside of Gamma.

"And all you need to know about me is—" he shagged the small pieces of hair that covered Rugu's quivering eyes. "Is that I am deeply in love with you and I will do whatever you want, whether you ask me to or not."

"Get away from me."

His eyes locked on while Rugu snapped his neck away from glancing at Gamma. He felt the lightness of Gamma's fingers trace his jawline and seize his chin, yanking his eyes back to shiver under Gamma's intense gaze.

"Some people don't understand that they need someone to take care of them, do they?"

And just like that, Rugu felt his hand turn the knob, slamming the door with all his might into the two of them. Gamma had released his grip upon the hybrid prince.

He ran.

He ran down the spiraling stairs, his eyes not daring to peak if his hunter was following him and softly ducked behind the throne of his parents.

... Where were they? Come to think of it, it was very quiet...

A whistle echoed off of the eeriely empty throne room as Gamma hummed, "you can run all you want, baby, I'll just find you eventually..."

He cupped his mouth, as if to quiet his breathing... The pounding of his heart rushed to his ears.

He counted:
One.
Two.
Three.

Before his feet could unlatch themselves from his spot, he felt iron-tight hands yank the locks on his precious hair, a mouth pressed themselves ever-so-gently to his ear.

"Found you. If loyalty isn't enough to keep you from running away and by my side... Then seven different locks will have to keep you from running... ~" and a blade softly raked against the male's cheek, he could've sworn he saw dried blood upon the silverly blade.
