Sorry for not updating on Wednesday English is kicking my butt so I had no time to get this up. I hope you all don't mind the lateness. Also I hope you all had a happy Halloween (If you do celebrate it).

They laid there on the blood soaked street, their chest rising up and falling down rapidly as the sound of their breathing matched their frantic chest. The sound of two doors opening then clicking shut rang through their ears. Multiple footsteps followed afterwards as it got closer and closer to the couple on the floor covered in bodies as well as dark liquid substance.

"Adira!" Madison called out the steps coming to a complete halt as they approached the couple lying on the floor exhausted, "Chad."

"Are you guys okay?" Tyler quaked as he stood over them.

"Fine." Chad huffed out as he continued to breathe quickly, "Adira." He called out and looked over to his left.

Adira had her eyes closed as her limbs were spread out like she had just gotten done making a snow angel, "Tired." She simply replied as she too breathed heavily.

Chad was looking up at the now grey sky that seemed to go a darker shade then a second before. His fingers entwined with each other and lay on his stomach while Adira was in the same position trying to slow her breathing down and heart rate. Tyler and Madison was staring down at them relief they weren't injured when the same door came bursting open and out came a running Jane screaming Adira's name.

"Come on." Chad tapped Adira on her shoulder lightly as he got up, "It's getting dark. We should be looking for a place to take shelter in."

Madison and Tyler turned around to look at Jane running out from the building and towards them when Chad grabbed Adira's hands and tried pulling her up. When Chad got Adira half way up, Jane's little body came crashing into her sending her back down.

Adira landed on the ground with a thud as she huffed out a breath as if Jane had knocked the breath out of her. Adira wrapped her arms around Jane's small frame and hugged her tight. She was in shock Jane was alive but so relieved and happy they had her back. Jane was sobbing into Adira's shoulder with her tiny arms wrapped around her neck as she repeated the words 'I'm sorry' even if they were almost incomprehensible. At this moment, Adira had sat back up when she got the strength too.

"You're okay." Adira muttered to the little sobbing girl even though a small smile made its presence on her face, "You're okay."

"I'm sorry." Jane cried into her shoulder, "I'm so sorry."

"It's okay." Adira mumbled to her rubbing Jane's back trying to soothe her, "You're okay."

"I didn't mean to run away." Jane pulled away to look at Adira tears streaming down her face, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have, I should have stayed. I just so scared. I'm sorry." Jane shook her head before banging her face back into Adira's shoulder.

"Jane, it's okay." Adira told her grip getting tighter around Jane, "You're okay." She grabbed her shoulders and made Jane look at her, "We're okay."

Chad had patted Jane on her head with a smile crossing his face before helping Adira to her feet with Jane, who refused to let go. Jane pulled away from Adira enough to see her face.

"I almost got you two hurt." Jane sniffed, "I didn't mean it. I didn't mean to run away and almost get you hurt."

"Sh..." Adira hushed her, "You're fine." She assured her, "I'm fine. We're fine, okay?"

Jane nodded as she kept sniffing and just hugged Adira when Chad took the chance to speak, "We have to look for shelter if we want to continue being fine." He spoke softly looking at Jane and Adira before looking at Madison and Tyler, "Where's Richie and Dan?"

Soon enough they two men came out from behind the doors as if they just got to them, "Right there." Tyler pointed to them as he looked at Chad.

"Okay." He turned back to Adira, "Let's go." Chad told them not paying attention to anything else.

It was then the girl in the back of Richie and Dan made her presence known to Chad and Adira, "Hi, so I know Richie and the others name but not yours."

Adira and Chad stopped what they were doing and looked up at the curly blonde haired girl, who was now being looked at by everyone. Adira gave her a confused yet stern look as she suddenly became uncomfortable and self-conscience under everyone's stare. She rubbed her shaky arms with her hand covering her small skinny frame and stood there looking back at everyone with her clear blue eyes.

"Hi." She breathes out, giving the couple a small smile and a small wave, "I'm Carry."

"She helped me." Jane reported to Chad and Adira.

Chad had unconsciously looked her up and down before turning his gaze to Adira. She cautiously looked her up and down as both of them took in her physical appearance. Carry had made eye contact with Chad before locking her eyes with Richie for help one what to do under Adira's intense gaze. Adira's light brown with golden rings iris met Carry's clear blue ones. All the others- Richie, Tyler, Dan and Madison - could do was look between the two girls.

Adira had adjusted Jane further on her hip bone before taking a deep breath and opened her mouth, "Adira." She simply introduced herself, "Thank you." Her face softens up a tad bit but was still cautious.

Carry nodded to motion as a welcome to Adira when Chad introduced himself, "Chad." He told her before the couple walked off talking to Jane as she tried telling them how they ended up trapped in an apartment. Adira and Chad nodded and made sure she knew they were paying attention.

The group just followed not wanting to be in, what they felt like, was an awkward encounter.

Carry shook her head wondering what just had happened but soon came out of her own thoughts and jogged up to the group, "Can I come with you?" She requested not knowing what else to do.

No one answered they just kept walking.

"You are just going to leave me?" She questioned, "Alone?" She squeaked.

"Not really leaving you alone if you are following us and not being kicked to the curb." Madison informed her.

Carry pulled her lips into her mouth when she heard Adira's voice speak, "Come if you want but I am warning you put your hands on the young ones and I won't hesitate to cut you."

Carry lets out a little nervous yet funny chuckle, "That's a joke right?"

"She's not kidding." Madison looked up at her; no indication of humor was in her face

"Oh." Carry whispered and stood quiet.

The continued walking down the street; staying in the middle of the street and on the lookout for anything. The sky was turning a darker shade than before with every step they took and every building they had past. Chad was now helping Adira walk as the adrenaline started wearing off and the pain in her leg started making an appearance. Adira had set Jane down, who was now in the back holding on to Carry's hand. A few blocks down, Dan had interrupted the silence that was surrounding the group.

"How the hell are we going to find somewhere to sleep when every time we get near a building those dang monsters choose to be in there?" Dan questioned in more exhaustion then frustration.

"I know a place we could go." Carry stated to the group; looking at all of them to see if any of them were listening to her.

"Where is it?" Dan questioned her.

"Out of the city." Carry revealed.

"That's too far." Richie told her, "We need somewhere closer."

"I was with a group that's out here." Carry told them, "If we could find them then we could help each other."

"That's if they are still out here." Madison added, "I don't know about you but I rather sleep first find people afterwards." They could hear the tiredness in her voice.

"And what makes you think we want to be part of another group anyways?" Chad questioned her, "We still haven't found the other half of our group."

"We could help each other." Carry tried to convince them, "I was watching you two back there with those things. You guys are skilled and that's what we need. We could use that."

Madison was the only one looking at her as she spoke while Adira shared a look with Chad.

"My group-"

"Why aren't you with your group if you have one?" Adira interrupted her, turning around to look at her.

Carry froze on the spot at the sudden eye contact and stopped. Carry looked at everyone before opening then quickly shutting her mouth. She hesitantly made eye contact with Adira when she didn't answer Adira lifted an eyebrow.

"I- um..." Carry looked over everyone once again; they were all waiting for her to give them an answer.

"Where is your group?" Adira interrogated her, "If you have one."

In that moment, lights flashed in front of the group and the sound of an engine came ringing through their ears. Everyone turned around to see bright lights just a few feet away from them and a dark truck facing them. A man walked in front of the truck his hands crossed over his chest and he was standing in a dominance position with his legs a few inches apart, his head was held high and he gave the group a stern look they could not see.

From what the group could see, there was someone sitting in the driver's seat looking out the front windshield and the passenger's seat was empty, which could be the intimidating man's seat. People hopped out of the trunk of the truck and they stood next to the vehicle not going past the front man. Some of the people held their weapons across their chest while others either had it standing next to them or over their shoulder. They looked as if they were posing for a magazine shoot of those models trying to be all bad ass.

Carry let out a relief laugh and maneuvered her way through the group to run with Jane tightly by her side. Adira wasn't allowing it. She wrapped her right arm around Jane's small waist and pulled her back causing Carry to jerk back. When she looked at Adira she was bent over slightly her left arm still holding on to Chad, who held on to Adira's waist keeping her from falling. Adira was staring at her dead in the eye. She tried pulling Jane out of Adira's grip but couldn't; Adira kept her grip on Jane and refused to let go.

When Carry didn't just let Jane go, Adira pulled her knife holding it by her side dangling it. Carry looked down to see the knife's presence then back at Adira, who gave her a challenging look. She looked down at the knife once more then at Adira then to Jane. The little girl was trying to pry her hand out of Carry's grip.

After a few moments of eye contact, Carry reluctantly let's go of Jane's hand and turned around, ran towards the other group. Adira moved to the back to stay with Jane.

"Ciras." She called out as she ran into his open arms.

"Are you okay?" He asked her holding her face in his hands before moving her head side to side seeing if she had any noticeable bites, scratches or any other injuries indicating she might be infected.

"Yeah." She whispers, "I'm fine."

"And who might you be?" the man, Ciras, asked turning his attention back onto the group just staring at them.

"Tired." Madison yawned leaning in to Tyler, her eyes slowly shutting. Tyler looked at his sleepy little sister and smiled just slightly before looking up at the group with a bunch of weapons.

"They have kids, Ciras." Carry informed him in a quiet voice, "We can't leave them out here. We have to help them."

Ciras nodded before speaking, "We have food, shelter and protection. You could come with us."

Chad and his group looked at each other before nodding. Chad wrapped his arm around Adira's waist again before the group began to walk forward towards Ciras. Adira was tired, hurt and in pain to even say a word or do anything besides allow Chad to help her.

A younger man walked behind Ciras and leaned in to him, his lips getting close to his ears as he whispers something into his ear. From the way Ciras eyes Adira up and down with a stern look, it was obvious he was talking about her. In that moment, his people- particularly the ones with the guns- raised their weapons up at the group and got ready to talk a shot if necessary. This action caused the group to come to an immediate halt and froze in their spot.

A few straight lined red lights caught Tyler's attention. He looked down at himself to see nothing was aimed at him so he followed the lights and at the end of those lights was Adira's chest and one was aimed at Adira's head. From the way, Chad had moved Adira back and was following the light told Tyler he noticed it too. Almost immediately, both boys got in front of Adira keeping the red beams off of her and on Tyler's shoulder and Chad's arm.

"The hell do you think you're doing?" Chad asked his eyebrows narrowed.

"She's infected." One of the group member yelled out to him his gun held high.

"Move out of the way, kid." Ciras ordered him, "You know what they turn into?"

"She's not infected." Tyler yelled out.

"What's that on her leg?" Ciras nodded his head once to motion to the soaked red gauze around Adira's thigh, "If she's not infected."

"She was injured not bitten." Chad defended, "Do you even know what an infected looks like?"

"What's that black stuff she's covered in then?" He insisted not believing that she's not infected.

"It's the infected blood that she got covered in from saving her ass." Tyler pointed to Carry.

"We weren't saving her." Madison commented, "We were saving Jane."

"Shh..." Tyler hushed her and she listened.

"Have you even seen an infected?" Richie asked them, "Do you even know what they look like?"

"Of course I do." Ciras answered them, "That's how I know she's one of them."

"She's not one of them!" Chad yelled out not wanting to hear those words with people he loved.

"If you think she's infected then you never seen one." Richie told him.

"How do we know you aren't just lying?" One of them asked.

"Leave us alone then if you don't believe us." Chad told them, "We weren't asking for help."

"We don't need it either." Tyler added.

Carry had to go on her tippy toes in order to whisper something to Ciras that no one was able to hear but them two. Ciras kept eye contact with Chad and the others as Carry continued talking into his ear.

"Put your guns down." Chad ordered them, "She's not infected nor is she one of them."

It fell silent for just a moment as Carry and Ciras spoke to each other in a hushed tone. Tyler, Dan and Richie all had their hands on their guns just in case they needed it, when and if they choose not to believe that Adira was not infected. Everyone was watching everyone wondering what they were going to do. Ciras held up his hand and spoke once again giving his group an order.

"Put your weapons down." Ciras commanded in a calm yet assertive voice, "We are taking these people in."

"What?" A male member asked shock slipping through his voice, "She's infected."

"She's not infected." Tyler yelled.

"They saved Carry and the least we could do is allowing them to stay with us." Ciras said not looking at his team but the one standing before him, "In appreciation for helping her."

"Are you really going to bring an infected into our place with all the others?" HE continued.

"She's not infected." Chad barked at him that everyone could hear the anger boiling every time someone calls Adira an infected.

"You keep her to yourself." Ciras told him, "If we take you in, you must watch her and take care of her."

"You won't have to worry about her or us." Chad replied.

"Come on." Carry motioned for them to get in the truck, "It's almost dinner. We could give you new clothes and provide food."

"You won't shoot her?" Tyler asked giving them a curious look.

"No." Ciras answered him in complete honesty, "Like I said if she turns its your problem but if she harms any of mine you're dead."

Neither Tyler nor Chad believed him but getting rest for everyone, getting new clothes and food for everyone was tempting and an opportunity they couldn't afford to pass on. They reluctantly made their way towards the truck following Carry to the back of the truck. Adira was still hanging onto Chad just as much as Madison was. Richie took hold of Jane's hand and watched her.

Some of the members went into the back of the truck giving up their seats in the trunk to give Adira and the rest of the group. Chad set Adira down leaning her back on the side of the truck before sitting next to her, wrapping his arm around her and just holding her for the entire ride. Tyler and Madison were next to him with Richie and Dan next to them. Jane was between Richie's long legs curled in a ball as she cuddled against Richie. Carry sat across from them as a few other members were looking around for any threats.

"Let's go." Ciras told the driver and the sound of the gas being applied roared through out the street. The more the car drove along the street the more the wind was being picked up whipping the groups hair in every possible direction.
