Decided I'd use a cover this time so it's more fitting.

Jeez, we're already one chapter away from the end. Didn't think we'd be done this soon. We even have four months to spare... wonder if we could get the others done before then?

Oh well, let's get onto the story.

Note: Wattpad didn't save, so I had to retype most of this...

It is highly recommended you listen to the song as well, cause 1. It's beautiful, and 2. It gives more feeling to the story.

Can't breathe fast enough.

Can't see.

It's all dark.

She couldn't catch her breath no matter how hard she try.

Gut wrenching pain.

Her screams were deafening.

So many people above her.

Blood pooled from her side.

Shouting.

Blame being thrown around.

Can't breathe.

Nails dug into palms.

Teeth and jaws clinched.

More pain ripping through her belly.

Her hands began to tremble.

No voice came to her ears.

Make it stop

Please, someone make it stop.

...

...

...

Silence.

"Hey, Six, you gotta a visitor," Three grumbled. The wedding party continued on, though it was mostly just everyone enjoying and congratulating the newly weds.

Was it Seven and Mono? No, it couldn't be, they were working today

The door opened, making all heads turn towards the noise. At first Six thought it was someone who hadn't seen the closed sign, but when she spotted them, her blood chilled.

"Mama?" She muttered. Veronica didn't speak at first, she turned her head to the new couple, her eerie hazel eyes having a glint Six couldn't read.

She gave a small nod to Two and One, muttering, "Congratulations." She then turned to her daughter, who felt her shoulders tense up.

Quiet talk followed a bit after, a few people saying hello to the new arrival, but no one went up to fully greet her.

Veronica walked up to Six at least, the latter not able to look at her mother in the eyes. When was the last time she even looked at her with complete eye contact?

"I thought I said to be home before three?" Veronica muttered, low enough to not be heard by easedroppers but to the point Six heard her. A shiver ran down her spine.

***

"There she is!" Mono turned at the voice of his colleague, spotting the incoming ambulance. EMTs jumped out, opening the doors to show a ghastly sight.

Her entire right side of her dress was stained red, a make shift patch wrapped around her side. She didn't steer awake as they got her out, feebly laid down and ghostly white.

"I'm gonna kill that woman," Mono muttered under his breath, already turning and making his way down the hallway to clear the way to the elevator.

***

Wait... why was she scared? This isn't new to her, she shouldn't be so shaken up by this. She didn't know if it was maternal instincts or not, but the sudden need to snap came over her.

She had only done it once in the past, and it resulted in her being smacked across the face. But she was older now! Maybe it'll work this time...

"Well, I wanted to stay out a little later. I need to stay behind and help clean up anyways," she challenged.

The look of fury that blazed in Veronica's eyes for a heartbeat made her want to swallow her words.

"I said. To come home,"

"No,"

"Six,"

"Veronica,"

The woman narrowed her eyes, reaching out and taking ahold of Six's shoulders, throwing her backwards. Six tripped, trying to grab onto something to catch herself, before an immense pain ripped through her torso as she was slammed into a sharp corner of one of the tables.

***

"Out of the way, emergency coming through!"

Seven followed from behind, asking question after question to the first responsers. Mono looked back once to them, spotting the two other waitresses from the diner. He was a bit puzzled by the dresses, and why one was wearing a white wedding dress.

The quiet sounds of Seven trying to wake up their patient could barely be heard over his pounding heartbeat. He couldn't afford to loose his cool, no matter how much he wanted to.

Memories if that night flooded his head for a moment. His teeth clinched.

***

"I think I had enough to drink, Mono," Seven mumbled next to him. The other doctor shook slightly, his blue eyes dull and unfocused.

Mono was use to this, the drinks. They didn't burn as badly as they did in the past and the taste was slightly addictive. Of course he always limited himself to three, if not by him then by the bartender, Four.

The girl between them mumbled slightly, looking like she was going to be sick. Mono sighed, looking to the rack of different alcoholic drinks towards the white uniformed bartender.

"Four, you got a room open?" he asked. The scrawny and lanky brunette looked to him, taking a second to think before nodding.

"Does she need anything for her stomach? She looks like a lightweight,"

"Nah, she'll be fine. I have some aspirins I can leave her,"

"Alright then."

With that he helped the two lightweights to the upstairs rooms. At least him and Seven could get some sleep before they had to go to work. The girl keep muttering still, desperately clingy onto his jacket.

"I don't wanna go back home," she whimpered. "Dad's gone, Mama'll kill me, Two doesn't care about me anymore, Three is Three..."

Her voice was slightly slurred, her gaze kept on the floor. Mono rested a hand on her back to keep her balanced. A slight frown on his face as he felt the indentation of a scar on her shoulder.

With a click, the door opened, showcasing a small bedroom. Wine red walls, painfully none matching patterned rugs and curtains, a small black futon in a corner, a plush chair by the wall. A white bed rested in the middle of the room, Mono grimacing as he saw the ruffled sheets. Definitely gonna change those.

He guided the girl to the futon, sitting her down so she didn't stumble everywhere.

She looked up at him, her dark honey brown eyes having a hazy and unfocused glint in them. Seven went over to the chair, sitting down on it with a grunt of satisfaction. They had gotten off of a thirty-five hours shift, of course they were tired.

The girl finally spoke up, taking ahold of one of Mono's hands. She put her cheek in his hand, the doctor taken a bit back by the heat from the alcohol. A wet rag would do her some good, or at least cool her off a bit.

He retreated to the bathroom, getting a damp cloth and came back. Seven had already started on changing the sheets which helped ease Mono's slight germphobic mind.

He placed the cloth on the girl's head, who flinched, seemingly expected to be hit. Mono took a moment to speak, trying to form his words carefully.

"No one is going to hurt you here. Not if I have a say in it," he stated. She looked up at him, like she was deciding on what to do with his new profound statement.

Mono went to turn away and help his colleague, when all of all sudden she reached and gripped him by his jacket. He was pulled down, finding himself nearly falling on her. She gave him a kiss, all red flags in his mind going off.

He pulled away, barely having time to stop her from trying to rip off his fleece jacket. He grabbed her hands, pulling them away. "No," he told her firmly.

She didn't seem to comprehend his words, but stopped, eye lids heavy all of a sudden.

***

Then it was all dark after that. He just remembered waking up on the futon, Seven in the chair, and Six in the bed, hogging all he blankets and even a comforter.

He didn't notice anything abnormal, but then again he was rushing to make himself look half presentable when the emergency call came in.

Mono snapped out of the thoughts, turning the water off, slipping on a pair of gloves and mask around his mouth and nose. Seven joined his side in the same fashion. They headed out, praying a silent prayer that it would all be okay.

***

"Oh God, what if something goes wrong?" Two choked out. Three looked to her, holding the other close to her in a way of comfort. One held her hand, rubbing soothing circles on the top of it with his thumb.

"Everything will be okay, Two," One told her softly. Three didn't want to bet her money on it, as bad as it sounded. She had seen what Six's wound looked like, and it was everything short of 'okay'.

***

The moment Six's scream broke the peaceful, yet slightly tense atmosphere, Three had flung herself at Veronica.

With a heavy shove to the ground, Three pined the lady to the ground, the sound of Five and One's sister calling 911 and frantically trying to explain what was happening became background noise.

Veronica didn't fight under her, yet rested looking back at the waitress above her. Three's grip was tight, to the point she didn't even care if she was drawing blood with her neatly done nails.

"The hell is wrong with you!" she shouted, driving the lady's head flatter against the ground.

"I'm just righting a wrong that should have been fixed the moment it was found."

The words made her blood boil, oh how badly she wanted to just snap this woman's neck and brush it off as a little mistake she made.

"That's your daughter and your grandchild, do you know what you could have done!"

Three looked over to Six, who seemed so disassociated with the world around her it was saddening. Her cries were so pleading, desperate to try and stop whatever was causing her her pain. Her skin was turned more and more whiter with each inch the blood pool under spread out.

She looked so scared as she gasped for breath as she continued with her shock filled panic attack. No matter how much pressure One or his sister put on the wound, it only seemed to make it all worse.

Their shirts and pants were stained a bone chilling red, to the point if you haven't had seen what truly happened, you would have thought they tried to murder the poor waitress.

Time felt like is going by agonizingly slow...

***

Hours ticked by, the lobby filled with soft crying from Two, who eventually started to drift off to sleep.

All heads turned to get sound of the the doors open. One of the doctors stepping out.

Seven stood before the group, trying to keep himself calm and stable as he tried to speak. At first, he found the words hard to say, his heart hammering. How could he tell them?

"It... I... she..."

Say it! Say it, you idiot!

"Ms. Little... she... there was too much blood loss and a small rupture to her spleen and... it's... if anyone would like to say their last goodbye, please follow me."

His voice cracked slightly as he spoke, looking down at the floor as sobs suddenly filled the already depressed lobby. Three got up, helping Two stand up, the smaller gripping onto her arm tightly.

Seven forced himself to stay calm, trying to hide the small breathing exercises under his breath. He couldn't break, not now, but later.

He turned, leading them towards the room the new mother had be placed in.

***

She couldn't wake up, no matter how hard she tried to open her eyes, nothing. Breathing was hard and forced thanks to whatever was in her throat.

Barely noticable noises slightly cut through the silence. She couldn't make out anything. Her body felt numb, like no matter much she tried to move it didn't even budge.

The darkness was comforting, like it was a mother to a small, hurt child. It was as hard to make out what was what, but slowly the dull voices became nothing by background noise. No matter how much she tried to zone in on it, she couldn't make out words.

The void around her seemed to grow darker, each breath she took was becoming shorter and more relaxed. She felt tired, like she hadn't slept in a month.

Sleep felt nice... maybe a wink or two would do her some good...

***

Mono pulled Seven up, trying to ignore the loud flat line ringing through out the room.

The younger of the two couldn't even make it to a private room before he started to break down. Mono lead them around the corner, barely keeping himself together.

Seven reached out suddenly, pulling the other into a tight hug, small, strangled sobs escaping. Mono felt his own tears start to trickle down, holding his friend close to him.

Nurses gave them symptomatic looks, no one bothering them. The half blind doctor let go of the other, trying to help ease his rapid breathing.

"We should take them to the NICU... c'mon, shapen up, you'll be okay."

***

"So do you have any names picked out?" Two asked. Six was a few feet away, wiping off a table. She looked over to her, the dirty blond's smile wide, cheerful, and filled with curiosity.

"I have a few... but they're all a little dumb..." Six answered her, walking back behind the counter as she finished up.

"Sixxy, don't be like that! I'm sure they're great names," Two said reassuringly. Six looked over to her with a small nervous expression.

"Of course someone like you would say that... fine."

"Yay! Soooo, what are they? The names?"

***

Mono and Seven took the small group to the nursery. Passing by the glass windows until they got to the nursery.

***

"Well, if it's a girl, I want to name her Rain,"

***

A small, swaddled baby boy rested on a small cart, sound asleep. His skin was as pale as his mother's, with a tuff of black hair on his head.
He was so small, Two was scared that if she were to even brush her hand on his cheek she'd hurt him by accident.

"The hit only broke his shoulder, it was a hairline fracture and it's already dealt with... besides that, he seems fine, a little underweight, but that's be be expected for a premy," Mono stated quietly.

"Does anyone have a name? I don't think Six ever told us..." Three said, just as quietly. Two looked up to her, nodding.

"She told me."

***

"And if it's a boy... Milo... I know it's stupid to name him after a cat, but... Milo meant a lot to me. He was the last bit of dad I had, and he kept me company and listened to all my worries... and I just thought that... maybe it would be nice to have a piece of him by me again."

***

"Milo."
