Hey everyone!!!! I have got a little news for you. All of you must be knowing what happened on 16th December a few years back. I had written this article the year before last for my school magazine. I am publishing it here without making any changes in it. I hope you will like it.

16th December

16th December is becoming an unforgettable date. In the span of 2 years, 2 horrific incidents have occurred on 16th December. How can anyone forget what happened on 16th December, 2012 in the capital of our country. The famous Nirbhaya gang-rape. At that time it was considered to be the darkest day in history. If that day was a 'black day', what was it that happened exactly 2 years later, on 16th December, 2014?

Personally, I don't think what happened in December, 2012 was any different from what we read in the newspapers every day. So how could that particular day become a black day? Unfortunately, things like rapes have become so common that we don't even feel shocked or surprised when we read about such incidents nowadays. This is the condition, when many incidents don't even come to light. Just imagine what would be there in the newspapers if all the incidents are reported!

Compared to this incident, what happened in Peshawar on 16th December, 2014 was a much more shocking incident. A terrorist attack on a school targeting innocent school children! What could be more brutal than that? 145 people were killed in that attack, including 132 school children. Approximately 960 people were rescued, 121 of them were injured. Not only the students, but also the teachers and the principal of the Army School was killed.

The teachers and principal were killed in front of the students and they were forced to watch their teachers being burned alive. The height of shamelessness was when after killing and injuring so many children the Taliban's spokesman said that the attackers had instructions 'not to harm the children'. Most of the children were shot in their head. This itself shows that the motive was to kill.

And the reason behind this cold – blooded act of murder? The Tehrik-i-Taliban, who carried out this attack, say, that it was done in order to take revenge from the Pakistan Army for the operation it conducted in North Waziristan in June 2014, killing terrorists in that area. So they attached the Army Public School, in which children of the Army feel the pain the Taliban felt when the Army killed their families. What brave people to take revenge on children! So now Taliban also feels the pain of family members being killed! What about the pain they have been inflicting on us with their terrorist attack since years?

Malala Yousafzai got a Nobel Peace Prize and many other prizes for taking a bullet. What will these 132 children get for losing their lives for no mistake of theirs? What about those children who lost their friends in the attack. A whole section of Class 9 was killed leaving 1 student, who was absent on that day. The night before, he had gone to a marriage and his alarm clock did not work in the morning, so he missed his school. What about him? Another surviving student was the only one left in his group of friends. All his friends died in front of his eyes.

No religion in the world justifies such acts of brutality and inhumanity. All of us know about the terrorist organization Al – Qaeda. Even Al – Qaeda's spokesperson said that this thing should not have been done. The people who killed those innocent children and their teachers have lost their right to be called or even treated as human being.

So people that's it. I had written it two years ago and my writing has changed a bit (like I feel). I had planned of publishing it yesterday only but I couldn't as my roomie took my laptop and started watching videos on it on YouTube. What could I do. Anyways, here is it. And another chapter will be following soon, hopefully today itself. But let's see.

So keep an eye. You never know when I might publish!!
