Thorin's POV

I finally left my chambers to explore Erebor. Balin had attempted to explain when and how we'd won the mountain but it frustrated me that I could not remember. Then there was the woman. The one the hobbit said was my betrothed. How could I forget asking for someone's hand in marriage? I did not believe that I would ever even court a human woman, let alone marry one. I was lost in my thoughts and ran into someone. I started and realized that I'd run into the very person plaguing my thoughts.

"Oh! T- Your Majesty. Please forgive me," she said. She did not wear a dress like a normal woman. She wore trousers and tunic with a sword secured on her hip. There was a sense of something familiar, but I could not place it. "You should watch where you are going, lass," I snapped. Her eyes widened for a moment and then she straightened to her full height. "I believe that you ran into me!" Her eyes flashed anger as she cut off the retort I was about to supply, "There is no need to be rude Thorin! Now if you'll please excuse me!" With that she made to storm passed me.

I grabbed her arm to stop her. "You are right. Forgive me. Surely you can understand my confusion and irritation." Her eyes soften a bit and I continued, "It is...unnerving that I cannot remember more than half a journey that lead to my being crowned King. I am told that you saved my life as well as the life of my nephew. For that, I am in your debt." I decided not to bring up the betrothal, although I did see the braid in her hair. It was definitely a betrothal braid.

"It was nothing," I heard her mutter. "I do wish to know how exactly it was that you came to save us." Her eyes gazed at me from under long lashes and once again, they were tearing up. This woman seemed overly emotional. "I, uh, pushed you out of the way of an orc blade just before it hit you. As for Fili, I healed him." I looked her over. I knew she was leaving something out. "You are a healer?" She shook her head. "Not exactly. You see I, uh have magic." I sneered at her. "Like elf magic?"

She groaned. "Right, since you don't remember what happened you've forgotten the peace treaty with the elves of Mirkwood." I felt the rage boiling inside me. I'd never agree to a treaty with miserable elf scum. "You speak lies, woman. I could cut out your tongue." With that, she fled from me.

Your POV

I slammed the door of my chambers and pulled out what I'd collected. This plan was risky and I knew it, but I felt I had no choice. I looked at the object in my hand and could feel the power radiating from it. I did not know if this plan would work, but I hoped it would. I'd asked for help from the one person I knew that might have had an answer. Rumplestiltskin, the Dark One.

"Hello dearie," came the sickening voice behind me. "Hello, Rumplestiltskin. I'm glad to see you were listening." He gave an annoying giggle before looking around. "Love what you've done with the place. Now, what do you need, dearie?" I turned to face him. The torch light reflected off his gold scaly skin. That's why my father called him "Crocodile." "Rumple, I need your help. I need something that can stop the Wicked Witch's powers, if only temporarily. Can you help?"

Another annoying laugh. "But of course I can dearie. For a price." I rolled my eyes. There was always a catch with him."What do you want? I'll give you anything if it's within my power." His hands flew up in a flourish. This Dark One was always so dramatic. "I do love it when they say that. I think that sword of yours would suffice." I felt my hand reach for the hilt. "My sword? The one you gave me?" I thought for a moment then said, "Fine. After I've taken care of the witch. I'll need this sword if my plan fails." His eyes grew dark. "Very well. I will have that sword. Do not break our deal." I looked at him pointedly. "Have I ever?"

I felt a sense of melancholy as I thought about parting with my beloved sword, but I knew that I had to in order to save Thorin and the dwarves I considered our family. I'd get Thorin's memories back if it was the last thing I did. Before I could confront Zelena and make her bring back Thorin's memories, there was one more thing I needed to do. I stifled a yawn and realized that my plan would have to wait. I climbed into bed and slept.
