"Daniel"

Vlad sighed when Danny still made no motion of getting up. He was still buried under his large starry comforter, mouth wide open with drool coming out. It was quite an adorable sight and if Vlad wasn't so annoyed, he probably would of taken a picture of it.

He walked over and shook the sleeping ghost boy, determining wether or not he should just go get an ice cold bucket of water to spill on the 15 year old. Luckily, for Danny that is, the teen soon awoke, immediately swatting Vlad away.

"Leave me lone" Danny sleepily grumbled, grabbing his blankets and throwing them over his head. Rolling his eyes, Vlad phased the blankets off of him and threw his uniform at him.

"Get up and get dressed, school starts at 8, be down by 7 or you're walking to school" With that, Vlad turned and walked out of the room, smirking when he heard Danny's groan of annoyance.

"I REBUKE THIS!"

Chuckling to himself, Vlad walked down the stair case and towards his room.

Danny untangled himself from his blankets and stood up. He stretched his arms and legs before walking into his bathroom. He looked in the mirror and winced at the dark bags under his eyes. He had woken up numerous times during the night because of m̶e̶m̶o̶r̶i̶e̶s̶ nightmares.

He brushed his hand through his hair a few times before deeming it impossible to fix. He brushed his teeth then walked back into his room, throwing the uniform a glare.

Begrudgingly, he put the uniform on along with the tie. He ran down the stairs where vlad had breafast waiting.
"Ah, there you are, I was beginning to think you actually wanted to walk to school"

Danny ignored him in favor of eating his breakfast muffin. Vlad sat opposite of him and began to eat his oatmeal while reading the newspaper.

"I assume you memorized where all your classes are?" He frowned when Danny nearly fell asleep while still chewing some of his blueberry muffin.
"Are you getting enough sleep?" He asked.

Danny's eyes snapped open and he swallowed.
"Yup!" He said, a bit too loudly. Vlad squinted his eyes, not quite believing him. Luckily for Danny, the alarm rang which meant they needed to get going.

"We need to get going so hurry up" Vlad said as he stood up. He carried his empty bowl into the kitchen and placed it in the sink. He walked back out into the dining area where Danny was trying to finish his breakfast.

"Just eat it on the way there, let's go or you're going to be late" Vlad said as he dragged Danny towards the door. Danny quickly put on his shoes and followed Vlad out the door and towards the limo where Naoki stood, holding their door open.

Vlad got inside and So did Danny after thanking him. Naoki closed their door then got in the drivers seat.

Danny looked out the window as Naoki drove. It wasn't a long drive, ten minutes at most. As he watched the scenery pass by, he couldn't help but notice an abundance of bugs. He couldn't get a good glimpse of them, but they didn't seem like any he'd seen before.

'Man, Japan has some weird ass bugs' he thought once he got a good look at one that landed on the windshield. It was small, round, and black with green eyes. It kind of looked like...

"A cat?" Danny mumbled out loud, head tilted in confusion. He watched as the cat like bug flew off. Vlad looked at him curiously but didn't say anything.

Danny's eyes widened when he realized there were a lot of those cat like bugs. Some were even surrounding some people, however they didn't seem bothered by them.

'Strange' He thought before shrugging. Everyone were probably used to them, hence why nobody was saying anything.

However it was weird, he didn't even notice them until today.
'Guess Sam was right when she said I was oblivious to everything'

He shrunk back in his seat the closer they got to True Cross. It wasn't that he was nervous about making friends and all that, it's just that he's never been the new kid before. He also didn't know much about Japanese schools, he wasn't sure how different it would be from American.

Naoki pulled into the academy and parked. Vlad handed him his backpack.
"Call me if anything happens, I have a meeting that will last until eight so you can just pick something to eat at the store. However I want you to come straight home afterwards, Alright?"

Danny nodded his head, grabbing his bag from Vlad. He got out after saying goodbye to Vlad and Naoki then left. He pulled out his schedule he had found buried in his backpack. He had homeroom first, as did everyone else. He wondered if he had the same one as Rin.

He walked into the large school and looked around. He didn't really get the chance to admire it when Vlad took him there the other day. He checked the time and saw that it was nearly 8.

He hurried to his homeroom class, having had to ask for help along the way, even though he spent all that time finding his classes so that wouldn't happen. He asked a nice looking girl with short blonde hair and green eyes. She seemed a bit shy.

"O-Oh! You have the same homeroom as me, Follow me I can show you" She smiled at him sweetly. Danny returned the smile and followed her.

"I'm Danny, whats your name?" He asked as they walked to their class.

"Oh! I'm Moriyama Shiemi, it's a pleasure to meet you" She said, blushing a bit.

'Oh right... I forgot people introduce themselves with their surname first...' Danny thought.
"Nice to meet you too"

The bell rang right when he and Moriyama were outside the door, making the blonde girl jump. She opened the door and walked in along with Danny.

"Cutting it close, aren't we Moriyama San?" The teacher said, her arms crossed. Her scolding look disappeared when she noticed Danny.

"S-Sorry Hara Sensei, it won't happen again" Moriyama said, blushing in embarrassment. The teacher dismissed her and she went to her seat next to a purple haired girl and a girl with short brown hair. On her other side sat a guy with brown hair, freckles, and glasses.

"It's not her fault she was late, she was showing me around. I'm D- Masters Daniel, I'm new" It was very odd introducing himself as Masters first.

"Ah, I see" After introducing himself to the class, which he absolutely despised, Hara told him to take a seat.

He sat down next to an empty seat, on the other side of him sat a pink haired dude. A black haired guy with a blonde streak sat next to pinky along with a bald kid with glasses.

It was homeroom so everyone was either studying, doing homework, or reading. Since he had nothing to work on, he pulled out a book. It was from the ghost zone so it was written in Esperanto. Thankfully one of his powers was the ability to understand any language fluently. It took him nearly two weeks to control it to where he didn't slip into a random language each time he spoke. It took two months to fully control it.

Ten minutes had past before the Teacher stood, earning the attention of everyone.
"I need to pick up some papers from the office. Okumura San, since you're the class rep I trust you to watch the class while I'm gone"

The kid with glasses next to Moriyama nodded, stood, and bowed before sitting back down. With that, she turned and walked out of the room. Almost immediately after, the pink haired guy turned and gave him a grin.

"So you're new, huh? The names Shima Renzo. The guys next to me are Ryuji Suguro and Konekamaru Miwa, they'd introduce themselves but they're too busy 'studying'" His speaking triggered many others to begin talking as well. The class rep also began chatting with Shiemi.

"Oh, well it's nice to meet you guys" Danny smiled. As soon as he finished speaking the classroom door burst open.

"Sorry I'm late Hara Sensei I... oh, she's not here" Danny smiled when he realized it was Rin. He noticed some of his classmates, especially Konekamaru and Moriyama, shift nervously in their seats.

Rin just shrugged and walked towards the empty chair beside Danny. He sat down and put his head down. Danny tilted his head curiously, how'd he not notice him?

"Hey Rin" Danny said, earning a surprised look from the trio next to them. Ryuji glared suspiciously at him and Konekomaru was looking at Rin, nervously.

Rin shot up and turned his head to look at Danny. He looked surprised then quickly grinned.
"Oh, Hey Danny! Can't believe I didn't notice you before hand" He chuckled sheepishly.

"Poor guy has to sit next to pointy ears" Danny overheard the guy in front of him whisper to his friend. He saw Rin tense but he didn't say anything. Danny narrowed his eyes and tapped the guy in front of him.

"Pointy ears?" He asked, genuinely curious but also a little peeved. Rin watched him, curiously.

The guy side eyed Rin before leaning in to whisper.
"It's what we call that freak behind his back, haven't you noticed his freakishly sharp ears and teeth? Makes him look like some kind of monster or somethin" he chuckled.

Even though it was whispered, it was obvious Rin had heard. It seemed as if everyone was staring at them, making Rin glare at them.

Danny's eyes narrowed.
"Oh, so you think making fun of something he has no control over is amusing to you? That's pretty shallow"

The guy immediately scowled at him and stood up. Danny stood up as well.
"Whats your problem?"

Moriyama looked at him nervously. The guy with glasses beside her looked ready to say something.

"You mean other than the fact that you're being an absolute asshole?"

Rin looked between the two in absolute shock. Nobody had ever cared enough to stand up for him, not even his brother. Normally Rin would of punched the guy by now but like he said before, he wanted to prove himself to his fellow exwires.

"Whatever" the guy mumbled before sitting back down. Danny smirked and also sat back down, turning towards Rin. Now that it was mentioned, his ears were a little pointy. But did he care? Not at all.

"Just ignore that asshole, Rin. It doesn't matter what you look like" Danny grinned, showing off his little fang.

"Your looks don't define you"

Rin looked at him with a shocked expression.

Rin looked in the mirror for the first time after opening the sword. He turned his head, looking at his pointy ears. He opened his mouth and stared at his unnatural pointy ears.
'I look like a monster' Rin frowned.

'I am a Monster'

Rins expression soon turned into a smile.

"Yeah... You're right"
