Rin was actually enjoying school for once. Not because of his classes, those still sucked. Except for cooking, that's the one class he's the best at. He's even top student and the teacher, Mr Ota, actually likes him.

He's enjoying school mainly because he has someone that actually talks to him and someone who doesn't make fun of his abnormal attributes.

After homeroom He and Danny walked to their first period of the day, Japanese Literature. They had gone through Danny's schedule and so far the only periods they don't have together were second and fourth which was Science and History.

Luckily, Rin always had an empty seat next to him since nobody wanted to sit next to the 'scary freak'. That didn't bother him however.

Okay maybe a little, but whatever.

"I thought you said the kids here weren't that much of an asshole" Danny mumbled, glaring at the guy from their homeroom. The guy glared back making Danny flip him off. Rin snorted and burst out laughing at the guys offended expression. He turned around and stormed off.

"I mainly sleep through most of my classes so I don't really hear what people say about me. Not that I care, anyway. They're mostly all talk and no bite" Rin said as they came across their classroom.

They walked inside and Danny followed Rin to their seats and sat down. Soon, Shiemi and Izumo walked in. Shiemi sat near the front while Izumo sat in the seat next to Danny.

"Hey" She greeted before taking out her notebook. Danny looked at Rin who looked surprised. Why wasn't she seated next to Shiemi? Wasn't she afraid to be close to him since he was an 'evil demon'?

"Hey..?" Danny greeted back, not knowing what to call her. Rin leaned in and told him him her name when it appeared she wasn't going to.

"That's Izumo, she only talks to her friend Paku and sometimes Shiemi" He explained, still shocked she even sat near him.

Soon the Teacher, Ms Furuta, walked in and began speaking.
"I assume you all have read the book I assigned to you?" She questioned, receiving many nods. She smiled in approval before speaking again.

"After I collect yesterday's homework from you all, you may begin writing your essay" She said as she began walking around to collect the homework.

Since Danny was new he obviously didn't need to turn anything in. She walked up to Rin who just gave her a sheepish smile.
"Sorry Furuta Sensei, I kinda lost it" He said.

She gave him a stern look.
"You seem to lose a lot of your assignments Mr Okumura, don't let it happen again"

She gave Danny a smile and asked how he was doing so far in the class. He told her everything was great so far and if he had any trouble understanding he'd ask for help. She then went on to collect other assignments.

Rin pulled out a slightly crumpled piece of notebook paper along with a dull pencil. He actually read the book this time. Everyone was silent as they wrote and Rin quickly grew bored.

A half hour had passed before the Teacher allowed them a small five minute break. Rin had only gotten a paragraph down. Other kids began chatting to the people next to them.

Rin looked towards Danny and smiled mischievously at him.
"Hey, Danny?" He asked.

Danny turned towards him.
"Yeah? What's up?"

"This is kind of difficult, do you mind lending me a hand?" Danny was also smiling mischievously.

"Oh yeah, sure" It was said a bit loudly which earned a lot of attention.

Everyone watched in complete horror as Danny removed his left arm and handed it to Rin.

"Thanks man" Rin said, grabbing it.

They both held in their laughter as the class started to freak out. One girl screamed while another fainted. While other freaked out classmates helped the girl who fainted, Rin pounded his fist on his desk as he laughed his ass off.

Danny was in a similar state, he was laughing and holding Rins shoulder as support so he didn't fall off his chair.

"T-They lo-lost their composure faster than I lost my arm" Danny wheezed which made Rin laugh even harder.

Izumo stared at the two laughing teenagers. She soon groaned before burying her face into her hands.

"Oh god there's two of them"

Rin and Danny sat against the same tree as before. Danny had bought lunch after gawking at the prices for a bit. He didn't have a problem with affording it but still thought the prices were ridiculous. Rin agreed with him whole heartedly.

"I still can't believe we didn't get in trouble" Rin said as he grabbed his homemade bento box.

"Right, especially after that one girl had to go to the nurse" Danny felt a bit bad for laughing but he couldn't help it.

The two sat in silence before an idea came to Rin.
"Hey, I think I know a great prank we can pull. And who to pull it on"

Danny set his lunch down and grinned.
"Please, do tell"

"Why did it come with us? W-What if it kills us?"

Rin closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He tried his best to ignore Konekamaru's frightened whisper to Bon and Shima. He walked ahead of everyone else, stopping until he was behind Yukio and Shura.

'Glad to know I'll be fighting with people who all hate my existence' Rin huffed and kicked a pebble, earning a look from Yukio.

They were on a mission to kill a herd of demons that had been terrorizing a nearby church. Their nest was somewhere in the forest near the church so they were currently on a hunt to find it.

"That demon won't try anything if he knows what's good for him" Bon told his small friend.

"I can fucking hear you Y'know" Rin growled at them, causing Konekamaru to hide behind Bon. The tall Aria/Dragoon glared at Rin who glared right back.

"That's enough, Rin knock it off"

Rin looked back at Yukio in disbelief.
"What the hell did I-"

"Oi, yer gonna make the demons run off, all of you shut up" Shura said, taking a sip of her alcoholic drink.

"Shouldn't you not be drinking alcohol while on a mission" Rin grumbled back, still mad.

She just looked at him before downing the entire thing.

They walked in silence for a few minutes before they stopped, having caught sight of one of the demons. They were small yet fast and blended in with their surroundings.

Soon more demons appeared. Bon and Konekamaru began going through scriptures, trying to find their fatal verse while Shiemi and Shima stood guard. Izumo summoned her familiars who began to fight.

Yukio pulled out his guns and Shura pulled out her sword. Run grabbed his as well but left it sheathed. He was specifically ordered to not use his flames. Rin had been pissed off at that, since despite everyone's beliefs, he actually could control them pretty well.

The demons were able to spit venom so everyone made sure to be careful. Rin noticed a few begin to sneak up on Bon.

"HEY! LOOK OUT!" Rin warned. Nobody seemed to hear him. Rin looked down at Kurikara.

"Ah, fuck it" He unsheathed it and was immediately engulfed in blue flames. His ears became even pointier along with his teeth, making him seem even less like a human.

He jumped and landed behind Bon, slicing the two demons that were just about to attack. All the other demons noticed the flames and scurried off, disappearing into the woods.

'Well shit..'

"Rin!" Yukio glared at his twin. Rin sheathed Kurikara, making the blue flames disappear. He then noticed all the terrified looks sent his way by his fellow exwires.

"I specifically told you not to use your flames! Can't you just follow one simple order?" Yukio seethed.

"If I did what you 'ordered' then everything would of been much worse! I don't need you controlling every damn thing I do!" Rin said back.

"Obviously I do, I'm sure we could of handled it without your flames, now look what happened. The mission failed thanks to you. This happens quite a lot and it's mainly your fault" Shura looked like she wanted to intervene.

"Shut it four eyes! Most of what happens isn't even my fault!"

The exwires looked between the two arguing twins. Shura told them to start heading back. They did as told, Shura staying with the brothers in case things went south.

"Yes it is! Just like with the last mission, just like today's, and just like when dad died!"

Rin stared at Yukio, face expressionless. He turned around to head back.

"Fuck you" His voice was quiet and his eyes were beginning to water, he didn't let them see though. He stormed off and soon caught up with his classmates who gave him nervous looks, all except Izumo.

Izumo watched as Rin walked ahead of the group, head down and hands in his pockets.

Meanwhile, Shura was giving Yukio a look of disbelief.

"What the fuck, Yukio!" She sounded absolutely livid.

Yukio ignored her and walked to catch up with his class. Shura soon joined, not saying anything as they walked back to True Cross. She threw Yukio a glare every so often.

Rin was pretty far ahead of the group, not so far that he couldn't see them though. They were all laughing together.

Rin felt his phone vibrate. He took it out and saw a message from Danny.

Danny< you ready for this

Rin smile when he remembered the prank.

Rin< hell yeah
