Mel's POV
I sit on the couch flicking through the TV channels. I finally find Doctor Who and start watching an episode containing David Tennant. These scenes meant more to me when my parents would watch them with me.
Now it's just me and my siblings.

Mimi, my littlest sister is in the kitchen eating cookies. Jonathan and Drew are probably at our cousin, Andrew's house doing whatever they do on Fridays. My eldest sister Brittany is getting ready for prom in her room.

"CRASH." That's the noise that comes from the kitchen. I whip around to see Mimi standing in front of a shattered plate of cookies. The plate happens to be one of my mother's old favorites.

"MIMI WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU DOING WITH MOM'S OLD PLATES?!?" I shout, anger building up in my chest.

"I thought...the cookies would look good on it." She stuttered, staring at the broken pieces of ceramic plate.

"Pick up the cookies while I clean up the glass." I growl as I grab the broom and dustpan.

Soon Mimi is eating what cookies aren't broken into a million pieces while I sweep up glass. Panic! At the Party blares through my headphones.

Life feels so lonely, even when people are around. I remember the story that my mom read to me when I was little. Peter Pan. The story of the magic boy leading the kids to Neverland makes me want so badly to go to my own fictional place filled with adventure.
