Adrien's POV:

    I heard her call out to me.

   I  could recognize that voice anywhere.

  It was my princess, my lady, and the love of my life. I was sure of it.

   "M-Marinette?" I whispered.

    I  felt her hand as she reached out and grabbed mine.

    "Yes, it is me. Now, why did you tell me?"

    I opened my eyes.

    I knew I could not see her.

   I felt her presence in the room.  It was all that mattered to me now.

    "Marinette, I am sorry. I did not want you to worry. Besides, you were hurt and out of it for days."

      I  was sure she was more upset than I imagined when I heard her tears.

     Great, I thought, there I go making her cry again.

     I am such a dumb boyfriend. I should have made sure she knew the truth.

    "Sorry, Marinette. I promise I am not going anywhere."

      "The doctors do not seem to think so. They said you need a kidney transplant, and maybe even a blood transfusion."

        I heard the worry in her words.

      I blinked twice in confusion.

      I  did not think the injuries were that bad off.

      Granted my chest did hurt from where the akuma hit it so hard last time.

       I thought for sure maybe a bit of sheet metal was still stuck inside me.  Perhaps, the doctors should have tried to remove it. Maybe, then all would be well. Then, again, if my kidneys were an issue then who knows what else happened that I was not aware of at the moment.

          I   reached up and placed a hand on her chin.

       "Marinette, I love you.  I have no intentions to leave you all alone."

          I felt something wet touch my lips as she kissed me.

           I was stunned as it had been weeks since our last kiss.  I kissed her in return and hoped that it would not be the last moment I was to share with her.

            I knew it would break her heart if I died.

            I heard another voice say, "Dude, you got to quit doing all this man."    

           It was then, it dawned on me that we were not by ourselves.

          "Nino, can not you see, I am having a moment here with my girlfriend?"

             I heard him chuckle as he exited the room.
