I could tell Gabriel Agreste was in shock at the news.

I saw him stand there in silence.

"Mr. Agreste, it was an accident."

"What happened to cause the blindness?"

          I heard Gabriel ask.

I  hesitated.  How could I tell him it happened due to an akuma attack?

I thought for a moment before I gave him an answer.

        I  looked over at Adrien.

I could see his small smile.

I felt bad for him. No, matter what I said, would his father approve of me?

          Mr. Agreste cleared his throat.

            "Miss Dupain-Cheng, please tell me."

"How is my son without his sight?"

I saw him as he placed his hands to his side in impatience.

              "Well, out with it."

"As I told you previously, it was an accident."

I then proceeded to tell him a lie. I knew it was not right, but how could I tell him the truth?   It was not like I trusted him with mine or Chat's identities.

"Adrien saw me in peril. This nasty man came up and tried to attack me.  He did not want me to be hurt.  So, naturally, he stepped in, and protected me."

I see Mr. Agreste glare at me. I could tell he wanted me to proceed.

"The crook pulled out a weapon, and Adrien yelled for me to run."

"I tried to shield Adrien but was knocked unconscious. I came to when someone screamed. I looked and saw it was Adrien.  I walked over to him and saw his eyes.  It was a horrible scene and I..."

          "I have heard enough."

I got this response from his father.

I hoped he believe the far-fetched version of what I told him.

There is no way he could know the truth. Not ever.

I  stood there unsure what to say next.

I needed not to worry so much.

I saw Mr. Agreste jot down a note.

I watched as he set it on the table across from Adrien.

Before I could ask about it, the door opened, the nurse came into the room, and Mr. Agreste left.

I thought just like that he leaves.

I believed it to be rather rude.

I could see now why Adrien does not get along with his father.

I  felt myself feel even worse for him than I did before his father got here.

I picked up the note and scanned it over.

     I gasped.

I was not sure how to tell Adrien.
