Chapter 32: Trending Happiness?

Aurora

It's been three days since we released an official statement about us dating, and the fans had gone crazy, much to my surprise. We became the number one trending couple instantly amongst the other teenage celebrities.

Literally, everyone around us was so happy, as if they have wanted this for a long time. Even I was over the cloud.

Keth commented that we looked adorable together when we went to the set as a couple for the first time. While Nina said that she expected us to be a thing. Even Julia said in the group chat that she was really happy for us.

"Aura," Davian called out, giving a knock on my open door.

"How many times do I have to tell you that you don't have to knock, Davian?" I said with a smile, looking at him from my mirror, and he got into my room.

"Still, I don't want to walk into your room without your permission," he mumbled, "What if you were changing your clothes?"

I chuckled and finished tying my hair into a bun to walk toward him. I wrapped my arms around his neck, standing on my toes to meet his eye level "Well, now you are my boyfriend, so at some point, you are bound to see me without my cl—"

Immediately, Davian backed off from me a little. I could see a tinge of red spreading across his cheeks and the tip of his ears.

I burst into laughter seeing his adorable reaction.

Davian just narrowed his eyes in my direction, folding his arms over his chest. "You should stop teasing, Aura, because one day, I might not back off like today."

"We will see when the time comes," I responded, still laughing.

"If you are done, then let's go to school, shall we? We have to submit our assignments." Both of us had to submit our respective assignments today.

I gave a curt nod and took the file from the table. I was about to head out when he caught my wrist.

"Wait. Now that I'm your boyfriend, I can do this, right?" Saying so, he tugged at my bun, pulling it open in one swoop and making them fall in curls over my back. He smiled in satisfaction. "I like your hair open better."

I felt my stomach flip-flop at his unexpected action. "Don't expect me to leave it open every day, though," I tried to say in order to cover up my blush.

He laughed lightly. "Of course, am I crazy?"

"Come, let's go."

When we strolled out of my room, we met with Declan and Jaxon.

"Hey, you two." Jaxon waved at us, pouting.

"What?" I arched an eyebrow.

"You are going to submit your assignments today, right?" he asked, and I nodded my head. "Then, can you submit my one too?"

"I am surprised you didn't ask Dee before telling us to submit," Davian commented.

Jaxon let out a dramatic sigh. "I told this guy." He pointed his index finger towards Declan. "But he says he won't go because he has some work to do today in his room. When I asked what, he said that he had to study today because he didn't get much time ever since we started shooting for the series."

I glanced at Declan, who had a bored expression on his face as if he was habituated with the dramatic version of Jaxon. Well, to be honest, even I got used to it.

"Then, who will submit your one, Dee?" I asked him.

"I can submit both Jax and Dee's one," Davian offered.

Since he was also in his junior year along with Declan and Jaxon, he could easily submit their assignments. I was still a sophomore, so I couldn't do it.

"Great!" Jaxon immediately handed his file to Davian while Declan did the same.

"Thanks, buddy," Declan said to Davian.

Davian smiled in return. "Anytime. And best of luck with your studies today."

Declan went into his room. Jaxon was about to until a question popped into my mind.

"Hey, Jax, wait a minute."

He turned to me. "Yes, Aura?"

"We can understand why Dee can't submit his assignment, but why can't you submit your one?" A nervous chuckle appeared on his lips, making me furrow my eyebrows. "What work do you have?"

"I... I have some errands to run. Bye!" With that, he rushed out of the dorm. I swear I almost saw him turning a little red.

"But—" before I could complete my sentence, he was long gone. "This guy..."

"Tell me about it," Davian mumbled while entwining his hand with mine. "Looks like it's only us. So let's go then."

I smiled up at him, and we walked to the school.

I could never get tired of Davian holding my hand. I loved it every time he did this. His touch was so soothing. I wondered whether he felt the same. He had to, right? Because he liked me as much as I liked him.

It was still unbelievable for me that we were an official couple. When my dads got this news, they were so happy. They even talked to Davian, saying they loved him so much that if he wanted to marry me, they would agree in a heartbeat. It was so awkward that I had to snatch my phone from Davian's hand and cut the call, texting my dads that I would talk to them later.

I was hella embarrassed about that, and Davian just laughed it off.

As soon as we stepped into the school building, all the eyes fell on us. They were examining our interlocked hands and then at us, trying to gauge if it was a publicity stunt or not.

It was starting to feel awkward, so I tried to free my hand from Davian's, but he didn't seem to care and continued walking.

I stopped walking and whispered to him, "Davian, leave my hand. Everyone's looking at us, and it's making me feel awkward."

Davian seemed to understand, and he was about to leave my hand until a familiar voice spoke all of a sudden, "Hey, Aura." Kylen smiled at me, then looked at Davian. "Hello to you too, Davian."

"Hey, Kylen," I chirped while Davian just gave him a curt nod, not leaving my hand.

I had the urge to roll my eyes.

Recently, we developed a nice friendship with Kylen. He was always so sweet to me while he would occasionally tease Davian by flirting with me. Apparently, he loved to annoy Davian.

"Congratulations to the two of you. I am happy for you two, really," Kylen said, honesty visible in his voice.

"Thank you," Davian and I replied at the same time.

"By the way, Davian," Kylen started speaking, "Even if Aura's taken, I am always there for her. Don't think that you dating her will ever change that."

"Yeah, yeah. But don't forget that she's my girlfriend now," Davian reminded Kylen, who smirked.

"So what? My charms work everywhere."

I cleared my throat to let my presence be known. When the two boys looked at me, I said, "I am right here, guys, in case you two forgot."

The two boys exchanged a look and burst into laughter.

I shook my head with a sigh. When my eyes fell on my right side, I spotted Kiara walking with her eyes glued to the floor. She seemed kinda sad.

"Davian," I called out, and he glanced at me. "There's Kiara. I'll submit my assignment with her. You can go and submit your one along with Jax and Dee's."

"Sure. See you at the dorm then?"

I nodded and rushed to Kiara. She didn't seem to notice my presence, so I placed a hand over her shoulder.

She flinched and looked at me. A look of relief appeared on her face. "Oh, it's you, Aura."

"Yeah..." I let out, trying to figure out what was wrong with her. "How are you, Kiara?"

"Fine," she replied curtly.

"You sure?" When she nodded her head, I decided not to push it further. "So I am here to submit my assignment. Did you submit yours?"

"Yes, I did, a few minutes ago."

"Great!" I said and kept walking with her quietly, an awkward silence covering us.

Kiara stopped walking and turned to me. "Aura..." she sucked in a deep breath and let out, "I asked out Dee today."

As soon as her words sank in, I froze in my spot.
