Once Upon a Time...

...at Arkansas State University lived a beautiful 19-year-old girl named Sophia Rosen. Sophia was originally from Arkansas, but she lived in Los Angeles before she went to college. Her widowed father, Garrick, lived alone at the Carriage Park Apartments—Sophia's mother died of cancer when she was 16, and a lot had changed for her since then. Sophia was very uncomfortable with these changes, and she wished there was something that could brighten up her life.

It was another dull day, and Sophia was finished with her finals for the school year, and she was even close to graduating. She was about to get ready to leave campus for her usual apartment, but something had come up. Hurricane Cora was about to hit any minute, and that meant everyone had to stay on campus.

Sophia fled to the nearest tornado shelter to be safe. "Oh, can this get any worse?" she groaned. Hurricane Cora had hit; the wind was blowing, the rain was falling, and the thunder was booming.

An hour later, the storm was over. Sophia hoped it wouldn't be any worse, but the minute she went outside, the campus was a mess—there were trees blown down and water everywhere.

"It just got worse," Sophia moaned to herself. "Oh, Momma, why did you have to leave me? Ever since you lost your battle with that breast cancer, things have gone wrong for me. If only you could help me out and make things better, I wouldn't be going through such a mess."

Part of the campus was destroyed, and it would take a long time for everything to be repaired. Sophia knew that she couldn't go back to Arkansas State University this fall, so she felt like she should go back to Garrick in Los Angeles. Maybe her mother did a good thing for her: have Hurricane Cora destroy part of the campus in order to send her daughter back to Los Angeles to reunite with her father.
