The summer had gone by quickly, and Jade brought Sophia to Lucky Clover College.

"Well, this is it: Lucky Clover College," Jade said. "I was supposed to be graduating this year, but I got held back."

"Why?" Sophia asked.

"I was trying very hard to impress the Fashionistas, but I never got my homework done," Jade explained. "I have to impress the popular girls! I have to!"

Sophia felt like she knew all she needed to know about Jade; she was very needy and obsessed with the popular crowd. "Jade, if you keep trying to impress the Fashionistas, you'll keep getting held back, and you'll never graduate," she said.

"But this is really important to me, Sophia," Jade protested.

Sophia liked Jade, but she was starting to feel a little ashamed to have a stepsister who was obsessed with trying to be popular.

Suddenly, Jade cried, "There he is! Hugo Hollister!"

Sophia's blue eyes grew big, and she turned around. Hugo Hollister was walking around unhappily.

"Hi, Hugo, did you have a nice summer?" Jade asked excitedly. "Fine, Jade," Hugo said flatly. He didn't really like Jade, and things were rough for him since he broke up with Sophia two years ago. He was caught off guard when he saw Sophia.

"Sophia Rosen?" Hugo gaped.

"Hugo Hollister?" Sophia asked.

Sophia was so happy that she screamed, ran over, and hugged Hugo tightly.

"Oh, it's been so long!" Hugo cried.

Everyone was surprised that Hugo and Sophia knew each other. Jade was shocked that Sophia and Hugo already knew each other. She was starting suspect something.

"You know each other?" Jade gasped.

"Hugo is my ex-boyfriend," Sophia revealed.

Everyone gasped at this statement, but nobody was more shocked than Jade. Now she knew why Sophia fainted when she saw that picture of Hugo in the yearbook.

"We used to date before Sophia went to Arkansas State University," Hugo added.

"Oh, everything started getting rough when my mother died, and breaking up was the hardest thing I ever had to do," Sophia recalled.

Hugo remembered how hard it was for him and Sophia to break up after her mother died and before she left for Arkansas, but he was happy to have her back.

"We broke up two years ago, Sophia," Hugo said. "I'm just happy that you're here. What do you say we get back together?"

Sophia was really happy to hear that. "I thought you'd never ask," she swooned. Then she and Hugo kissed. Everyone thought it was so romantic that they were speechless.

But Jade was very jealous of her stepsister. She really wanted Hugo for herself, but now Hugo was back with his ex-girlfriend. Jade was so hurt and jealous that she ran off.

Word was all over campus that Sophia had unintentionally reunited withHugo and they got back together. Nobody blamed Hugo for being happy to be with Sophia again, except for Jade.
