You are an expert at sorry and keeping lines blurry. Never impressed by me acing your tests. All the girls that you've run dry, have tired, lifeless eyes 'cause you burned them out. But I took your matches before fire could catch me; so don't look now, I'm shining like fireworks over your sad, empty town. — Taylor Swift, "Dear John" (2010)

"Mind sharing your notes from the tour of Holden we did last week?" Jackson "Jaxx" Miller asked, gently poking Meredith Seo's shoulder. The honey-blonde girl flinched—deep in thoughts she hadn't realized the black haired male to creep up on her. "Sorry, Mer. Didn't mind to scare you" he smiled a gummy smile and Meredith shook her head.

"It's fine, Jaxx. I was just in thoughts." She pushed a strand of hair behind her ear and looked at the man. "What were you asking?" Jaxx smiled and sat down on the chair next to Meredith.

Meredith was in one of her last lectures before her final exams; before she could finally go back to Chicago and be with her family and leave the hellhole of Australia behind. She sure would be sad to leave Jaxx behind. Ever since she came back from Hawai'i the tall and slim boy had been checking up on her.

He was also one of the very first to compliment her Manta Ray tattoo. Jaxx was an acquaintance-turned-friend. And Meredith was happy to have at least one person she could go to.

After all she and Seokjin had broken up. And with her breaking up with Seokjin, Yaeeun left her life as well. Not that Meredith wanted anything to do with these cheaters.

The summer vacation in Hawai'i passed as quick as it came and when Meredith flew back to Australia she was single, heartbroken and a shadow of whom she used to be. She bid goodbye to Johnny, Jaehyun, Hyelin and Baekhee who had to catch an early morning flight to the states with tears in her eyes. She promised Johnny to see him as soon as she finished her degree.

And then she had to say goodbye to Mark Lee. Her best friend; her lifeline; her yellow.

Mark had been with her ever since she broken up with Seokjin. He had hugged her, sat on the beach with her and let her cry her heart out without complaining once. He was always caring for her.

The two stood next to each other at Marks gate. The display clearly said London and Meredith knew she wouldn't see Mark for a long time now. She already missed him. She hugged her body and looked at him through her bangs.

"Last call for passengers to London" the Intercom voice called and Meredith looked at Mark. "Take care, Mark" she said and gently stroked his jaw. He looked at her with the most unreadable expression he could've mustered up. "I will. Take care of yourself, Mer. And don't let Seokjin and Yaeeun ruin your last few months at college, okay?" He leaned forward and rested his forehead on hers.

"I'll try and visit you as soon as possible, Mer."

Meredith nodded. The Intercom voice called out the passengers for Marks flight once more and the Canadian lad let out a sigh. "I have to go" he said and Meredith nodded. She watched him scan his boarding pass and enter the gangway to the airplane.

Tears filled her eyes as her only strong pillar disappeared from her sight.

And now, four weeks later, Meredith was still not the happy and bubbly girl she used to be. But she was thankful for Jaxx. He kept her company and tried cheering her up from time to time. He could only imagine how things went down after he send her that fateful screenshot. But Jackson Miller could not just watch Meredith fall down, he had to be there for her.

"We went to tour Holden motors last week and I was wondering if you could share your notes with me. I accidentally deleted the notes from my iPad when I was fixing my tuning sheet for the Subaru." He nervously scratched his nape and gave Meredith another goofy grin.

A snort left the lips of the girl and she nodded. "I'll e-mail them to you" she simply stated and continue to stare into the distance. Jaxx watched her. "You've been awfully quiet this week. What's up? Is it still the Seokjin and Yaeeun drama?"

The way Jaxx pronounced both their names brought a smile to Meredith's lips. She knew Jaxx wasn't doing it on purpose but it felt good hearing someone else clown them. "Not just that" she confessed and leaned back on the bench.

The air was slightly getting warmer, with it being around 17° celsius today. Meredith wasn't cold, but she wasn't feeling any warmer either—she pulled the thin wool cardigan around her body and sighed.

"It's been a lot" she said and eyed Jaxx. His tanned skin was glowing in the light and he had a light stubble on his chin. "First Seokjin fucked Yaeeun in my bed, then I was heartbroken and couldn't even enjoy Hawai'i for the last time and then I had to say goodbye to my best friend on the airport and I don't know when I'll be able to see him again." She shook her head.

"We're graduating soon and I'm planning to move back to Chicago once this shit is over. I don't want to be here any longer, no offense" she looked at Jaxx apologetically but the charming man only chuckled and shook his head, "None taken."

Meredith sighed once more. A long and tired sounding sigh. Jaxx tilted his head. "You haven't been sleeping well, right?", he asked and Meredith nodded. "I'm overthinking stuff. Jaxx, if I ask you a really stupid question, would you answer it truthfully? Be completely honest with me, even if it hurts, okay?"

Jaxx blinked twice, but nodded. Meredith jumped up and took off her cardigan. Under it she wore a tight crop top that ended just over her belly button and low rise ripped jeans. She put her hands into her hips. "Do I look that unfuckable to you?", she asked and Jaxx looked at Meredith.

"What?", he asked and Meredith rolled her eyes. "Is my body really this worthless that a man couldn't wait until I gave him the green light to sleep with me?" She twirled, so Jaxx could see her behind as well. "So?", she asked and went to grab her cardigan.

Jaxx handed it to her. She smiled at him and gently brushed her fingers against his. "Thanks" she whispered before sitting back down next to him. Jaxx scratched his chin and turned to face her.

"I don't know what's wrong with Seokjin" he started, "but I would've waited ages until my significant other was ready to take it up a step."

"That didn't answer my question, Jackson."

"Ouch, the full name. That hurts" he clutched his heart and Meredith gave him a shove. "Stop it!", she chuckled but smiled and Jaxx grinned and poked her dimple. "Gotcha!", he winked and the two of them locked eyes for a second too long. Meredith quickly looked away.

"So? Would you fuck me?"

"I don't like the way your degrading yourself with terms like this, Meredith."

Meredith looked at Jaxx. "That's not the answer, Jaxx. Answer it." She locked her eyes with his once more. His eyes were dark brown; no answer was found in them. "I would fuck you" he answered, seeing the desperate need in her eyes. The need for an answer, as stupid as it sounded. "But I would wait until you are ready. I wouldn't force you."

Meredith looked at him and her expression softened. "Thank you, Jaxx. I thought something was wrong with my body and that's why Seokjin tried to force me to sleep with him. I thought it was disgusting him and that's why he wanted to get it over with."

Jaxx looked at her. "If he would be disgusted by your body, something major would be wrong with him. He's sleazy, disgusting and just wanted to get laid. That's why he was cheating. He didn't care if it was you or Yaeeun. He just wanted to get dicked down. He's a douchebag that couldn't wait for his bombshell girlfriend to give him the okay. Sex isn't just a one-man-show. You want your partner to be pleased as well. And not just dick in and be done in two seconds. He's a shit show of a man."

Meredith looked at Jaxx. She was impressed. She would have never thought that shy looking Jackson Miller from her Auto IT class would be this loud and open about his feelings and thoughts. She scooted a bit closer to him and rested her head on his shoulder.

"You know what I really want to do right now?", she asked, while Jaxx threw his arms around her shoulders, comforting her in a warm hug. "Hm?", he asked and Meredith grinned. "I wanna get shit faced drunk and do something really stupid."

"On a scale from dumb to jail time, how stupid are we speaking?", he asked and Meredith grinned at him. "Stupid-stupid" Meredith grinned and started drawing patterns on Jaxx's thighs. The boy looked at her.

"Okay, let's get shit faced drunk!"

The club Jaxx recommended smelled like sweat, cheap perfume and a mixture of different alcoholic beverages. It was a club a few of Jaxx's college friends regularly went to. It played Top 40 music charts tracks and had a good variety of funky drinks and colorful cocktails.

"Exactly the thing you need today!" Jaxx grinned and threw an arm around his friend. Jaxx wore a loose button down, with the top six buttons open, showing his skin. He wore a new cologne; Meredith didn't know what it was, but it smelled nice. It reminded her of Mark for some odd reason.

On his legs Jaxx had thrown on a pair of ripped jeans and he wore worn out Vans. He looked great. Meredith had looked him up and down, when he stood in front of her dorm room. "You look like a snack, someone might take a bite of you today" she grinned and locked the door behind her.

"Says the woman who looks like she about to get her revenge on someone."

Jaxx had immediately realized that Meredith had a killer body. But when he saw her in the black short shorts and the corset top with a translucent cardigan gently thrown over her shoulders he got his confirmation.

Jaxx gently led her through the club. People were singing loudly to a Pitbull song, while Jaxx directed Meredith to the bar. She had her curly hair open and it laid on her shoulders. She pushed a strand behind her ear and blinked at Jaxx with her perfectly lined eyes.

"What do you recommend, big boy?", she asked and felt happy and free—for the first time in a while. She was glad she had Jaxx. She had never thought that the two of them would grow close after the Snapchat screenshot incident, but she was really happy to have him.

"Sex on the Beach is a banger!", he yelled against the music and Meredith blushed, thinking about the ambiguousness of the cocktail. "Their margaritas are great as well" Jaxx continued, not seeing the cheeky blush on Meredith's cheeks. She wasn't even drunk and was already feeling giddy and cheerful.

"I personally would take the Piña Colada" Jaxx finished and Meredith nodded. "Sounds good. Something fruity and paradise-like to start the evening!" Jaxx nodded and leaned over the bar to get the bartenders attention.

While Jaxx was ordering their drinks, Meredith let her eyes wander through the dark club. Colorful lights were flashing on the dance floor and people were happily dancing with each other. A couple was making out on the far left of the dance floor and a girl was desperately trying to get the DJs attention.

"Mer" Jaxx said and turned around when his eyes found something. "Fuck, don't turn around." Meredith looked at Jaxx and then turned around. It felt like her whole world had stopped.

Han Seokjin entered the club, a ginger haired woman in a slip dress on his side. He had a bright smile on his lips and wore a silky shirt and dress pants. He looked like he stepped out of an old Hollywood movie. He looked dashing.

But the woman on Seokjin's side wasn't Yaeeun. It was a voluptuous woman with filler in her lips and fake boobs. Her ginger hair seemed fake and she looked as plastic as can be.

Meredith felt her insides turn. Four weeks. It had been four fucking weeks since Meredith broke up with him and she was in pain because she had been betrayed like this. Meredith turned back to Jaxx.

"Did he see me?", she asked in a slight panic. Jaxx looked over her shoulder. "No, but he and his plastic Barbie are heading this way. We can't leave through the main hallway" Jaxx mumbled, "we have to take the shortcut over the dance floor." Jaxx looked at Meredith and her brown eyes sparkled up at him.

"Your Piña Coladas are ready!", the Barkeeper said and pushed two fancy looking glasses over to the pair. "Fuck" Jaxx hissed, "their almost here." Meredith sighed. "She glanced at the glasses, took both of them and looked at Jaxx.

"Stupid-stupid, remember?", she asked and Jaxx looked at her. He watched her down one of the cocktails, holding on to Jaxx for support before downing the other one. The sickly sweet taste of coconut was making her dizzy, but she slammed the glasses back onto the bar counter and held onto Jaxx's forearm.

"Lead the way pretty boy!", she said, feeling the alcohol hitting her middle. Jaxx looked at her, worry lacing his gentle features, but he glanced at Seokjin's direction once more. He and his barbie reached the bar just as the duo took the steps down to the dance floor.

The music was bouncing in Meredith's ears while Jaxx lead her towards the exit. Suddenly the DJ started to play Daddy Yankee's Gasolina and Meredith stopped in her tracks. Jaxx yanked at her hand but turned around, when he realized Meredith wasn't moving.

"I love that song" Meredith moaned and pulled Jaxx closer. "Please dance with me, Jackson." Jaxx looked at her. Her cheeks were tinted in a dark shade and her eyes were slightly closed.

The alcohol had reached her brain and took over. Meredith wasn't drunk, but she was tipsy. Jaxx sighed. "Mer, you're tipsy."

"Dance with me" she repeated and pulled harsh on Jaxx's hand. The boy stumbled over to her and his chest bumped against hers. "Hi" she grinned cheekily and grabbed his other hand. Jaxx rolled his eyes. "You're going to regret this tomorrow, Mer."

"It's just a dance, what should happen?"
