SUMMARY:

Washington "Wash" kom Trikru never liked fighting, he was a healer, a young boy being trained under the watchful eye of Nyko. He felt more comfortable with bandage in his hand than with a sword or axe. He felt more at peace stitching up wounds than inflicting them. Still, he was proud to be a Grounder. He loved the trees, the rivers and even the looming mountains in the distance didn't scare him, no matter how many times his sister warned him for danger.

But his simple life with all its beliefs turned upside down when invaders from above came to their land. A ship fell down from the stars, crushing their lands and destroying a village of innocent people. Wash hates them, with every fiber of his being, knowing fully well that there may never be a way to live together. They came to destroy and why should they be shown any mercy?

However, it turns out to be a lot more complicated than that. Because when Wash is out on partrol and sees another ship falling down from the stars, he finds the girl with the raven around her neck. And suddenly hating the sky people doesn't seem like the only option anymore. Not when the girl with moondust in her veins was around to remind him that they deserved a chance.

NOTES:

- Wash and his sister are a part of Trikru and while Phoenix works hard to uphold the Grounder traditions and become a warrior. Wash much rather spends his time healing wounds than inflicting them. He's a dreamer and an optimist, which I think compliments Raven's character very well since she is much more of a realist. I thought it could be fun to write a few chapters of their life before the dropship comes crashing down. Maybe Wash being trained by Nyko and trying to keep his sister in check. The relationship between Nix and Wash is very tense, because Nix thinks him weak for not wanting to fight and blames him for this. It's up to you if you want to include their parents in this story or make up some reason as to why they aren't here. Wash is also friends with Lincoln so I'd love to see some scenes between these two as well.

- When Trikru declares war on the 100, Wash doesn't disagree because in his eyes they did indeed harm that innocent village. Still, he doesn't like to fight and so he tries to help his people with the only way he knows how, healing the wounded.

- When Raven's ship comes down, he's out on patrol. He goes to the ship and finds her before Bellamy even does. He wants to take her prisoner because that's what they've been taught to do but then he sees the bird around her neck, which stops him in his tracks because it reminds him of his sister, as she's called phoenix which is also a bird. He doubts for too long and hears footsteps and so he hides himself and watches Bellamy take the radio.

- He doesn't meet Raven again until the season finale, but in the meantime he does keep an eye on the camp together with Lincoln and his eyes do keep going back to her. Of course he notices Lincoln's growing crush on Octavia as well and I imagine some friendly teasing scenes between the two of them about it. Though, Wash is conflicted because he's been taught to hate these people.

- So in the series finale, Wash stays behind to help the wounded that are being brought back from the battle. But he's never had to heal gunwounds before and so he's a little out of his depth. He hears the explosion from the ship and runs towards the battle because he knows his sister was there. When he arrives he is just in time to see the mountain men take the kids and his sister. He can't do anything to help and goes to the camp to see the damage of the battle. He goes into the ship and runs into a wounded Raven and Murphy. For a moment he stands there, doubting but then he goes to treat Raven the best he can. He tells Murphy that when the battle is over it's the healers job to take care of as many people as he can, and that includes the enemy. He can't do much but manages to at least stop the bleeding with a plant that he always carries in his medical supplies.

- In season two they finally have some more scenes together because he wants his sister out of mount weather and is willing to work together with Skaikru to get this done. In the episode where they have dinner with the Grounders and Lexa almost gets poisoned, it's Wash who discovers the poison and gets them to stop torturing Raven. After that Wash wants to help Clarke to treat Raven's wounds and they get to talking. Raven tells him that he's saved her life twice now. Wash smiles and tells her it's actually three times and he tells her of the time he found her in her ship. When she asks why he didn't kill her that first time he tells her it's because of the necklace and he was reminded of his sister because of it.

- After that Raven is a lot kinder to him and when he leaves to go to Tondc and he's actually sad to leave her behind. When they go to attack mount weather he goes with Raven to the dam and takes out the guards while she sets the bombs.

- He is not happy with Lexa's deal, even though he is reunited with his sister because of it. Nix tells him that she notices he isn't happy and he doesn't fully realise why until she confronts him about it, stating that his heart belongs to a girl instead of his people. He can only agree.

- He goes with Lincoln in season 3 to stay with Skaikru, which is when he and Raven truly get to know each other even better and their friendship turns into something more. Which makes this story very much a slowburn but that is what makes Wash and Raven's relationship so much fun to me and also realistic because they start out as enemies after all.

- I had planned to write this plot myself but the last season of the 100 has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I can't even appreciate the earlier seasons anymore. Maybe one day I'll get back to writing for this fandom but I don't see that happening any time soon. But since I was going to write it myself I have made an outline and everything. So if you want this plot and you ever get stuck, I might have some ideas that can help out out!
