"Webkit, step forward." Lurkingsnake watched as her kit moved up to receive her apprentice name. "From this moment onward, you will be known as Webpaw.  Starkfern, step forward. You have great thoughtfulness and courage, and I hope you will pass on these traits to her."

"I will teach her all that I know." Starkfern said, standing proudly next to her apprentice.

"Snowkit, come forward. From this moment onward,  you will be known as Snowpaw.  Stormnose, step forward. You have great skill in tracking,  and determination. Pass these traits on to Snowpaw."

Lurkingsnake saw her brother touch noses with her daughter.

"Snakekit,  come forward. From this moment onward, you will be known as Snakepaw. Lionbreeze, come forward. You have great strength and optimism. Pass these things on to Snakepaw."

"Lurkingsnake, you are once again a warrior."

She immediately rushed over to Spidertail.  "I hope Petalpaw and Lostheart can take care of them."

She glanced at Lionbreeze. He had not been bullying her kits, yet. She drifted a little closer to where he was taking to Snakepaw. "And you never want to cross the border. Mountainclan will not enjoy that. Be careful, too. Try to have as few enemies as possible. I lost my sister and my mate to some cat, but we still do not know who."

She padded gratefully over to Lionbreeze. "Thanks for warning her. I could never find the courage to do it myself."
