She stared up into the sky, wandering. It had been so long since action. Something was bound to go wrong soon, wasn't it? She sighed at the stars, What's my mother doing up there now?
"Nice night, eh, Acorncloud?"
"Amberstar!"she gasped, panting," You startled me! What's wrong with you?"
Amberstar laughed quietly,"Sorry,"she purred, stroking the tortoiseshell medicine cat's soft fur with her tail, "Any news?"
"No,"Acorncloud shook her head, "I-"she broke off with a gasp.
"A-Acorncloud! Acorncloud what is it?"
Acorncloud did not hear her leader as she watched two stars that shimmered brighter than anytging she'd ever know. Brighter than diamonds, brighter than gold, brighter than...well...stars.
Obviously seeing the focused clouding in her eyes, Amberstar remained still and silent.
As Acorncloud watched, a star fell. It looked cracked and weird before it did so, but she stared in bewilderment.
She muttered something that even she couldn't make out, than whispered,"The chosen one will know his path but the one outcast will turn black as the night sky,"
Amberstar gazed at her in surprise. In truth, StarClan visions were common, but they rarely recieved prophecies.
"W-what does it mean, Acorncloud?"
"It means what I said. There will be two," Acorncloud paused, still gaping at the sky,"The hero and villian. Brothers, but less. Victim and bully. Friends, but enemies,"
Amberstar, who had never heard a prediction like this one, murmured,"I'm gonna go to bed," but, in clear view of Acornstar left camp. She felt trapped. She needed to think alone in the wind. She ran towards the river, hoping to take her mind off it via fishing. She didn't hear the painful yowling from the nursery back at camp.

                            * * *

When Acorncloud emerged from the nursery, the top two questions she recieved were one: "How are Wrenfoot and the kits?" and two: "Where did Amberstar go?"
"Wrenfoot has two sons named Rowankit and Hickorykit. Very healthy. The three of them are fine. As for Amberstar, she went for a stroll," Acorncloud yelled, trying ro be heard over the mass of curiosity.
"I'll be back with borage for Wrenfoot in a minute. So get out the way,"
After collecting borage from her stores, she squeezed into the nursery to find Wrenfoot and Eagleface, who was the father of the tree-named-duo, pressing their muzzles together.
Acorncloud dumped the borage at Wrenfoot's head,"There you go. Eat up,"
"Tha-tha-thanks, Acorncloud,"she said through a yawn.
"Now, get some rest,"she ordered quietly.
Wrenfoot blinked serenely and Acorncloud knelt to examine the kits.
Rowanpaw was a pale yellow tom whilst Hickorykit was a white tom with weird spots, two by his nose, two on his right ear and one on his left cheek. As she examined Hickorykit closer she noticed something strange about him. She let out a gasp of horror.
Wrenfoot and Eagleface jerked awake at once,"What? What is it?"Eagleface cried.
"Hickorykit! He-he only has...three legs!"Acorncloud rasped.
"What?"Wrenfoot screamed,"No! No it can't be!" She began to cry, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"What?" Salmonpaw, who was one of
Wrenfoot's first daughters asked, darting in with her sisters Troutpaw and Kiopaw.
"Hickorykit only has three legs!" Eagleface moaned,"Something bad just had to happen!"
The female apprentices groaned and collapsed beside their brothers with sobs.
As Acorncloud left them to live out their grief, Wrenfoot whispered to Eagleface,"Hickorykit's not whole, so there's no reason for us to treat him okay,"
"I agree,"he murmured back, glaring at the round stump thar would've been Hickorykit's fourth leg.
The five of them glowered down at him, knowing not that in Hickorykit's first dream, demons were swarming around him.

'"What?"Wrenfoot screamed,"No! No it can't be!" She began to cry, tears streaming down her cheeks.'
You only had a disabled child, Wrenfoot, chill.
