Hello, fellow fans!

In this chapter, I'll treat you with Zombie comedies.

Yes, you heard me :D Zombie comedy is the topic. You are looking at a big zombie fan and zombie comedies are like a cherry on the top of my undead cake.

Possible spoilers ;) You've been warned.

I know, I know... there are sooo many! Dance of the dead, Zombeavers, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Dead And Breakfast, and we could go on and on. But today I'll stick to my most favorites with a little surprise at the end. So let's dive in, shall we?

Shaun Of The Dead

To me, this is THE best zombie comedy ever. Shaun is an electronics store manager whose life is going nowhere. He has a difficult relationship with his stepfather, and a tense one with his flatmate, Pete, because of Ed, Shaun's unemployed best friend and another flatmate. As a final straw, Shaun's girlfriend Liz is tired of their stunted social life. They spend most every evening at the Winchester, Shaun and Ed's favorite pub. Guess what their plan is when the dead rise?

A great plan, isn't it? :D

In this movie, there is not a single weak moment. At least where I am concerned. To not to drag this for too long, here are two of my most favorite moments.

How to NOT fight a zombie.

Act like a zombie.

Zombieland

A cowardly shut-in named Columbus is forced to join up with a seasoned zombie slayer named Tallahassee in order to survive the zombie apocalypse. As Tallahassee sets out on a mission to find the last Twinkie on Earth, the duo meets up with Wichita and Little Rock, two young girls who have resorted to some rather unorthodox methods to survive amidst the chaos. Reluctant partners in the battle against the undead.

It's basically a road movie with zombies running around.

One of the funniest things about the movies must be Columbus' rules for Surviving.

Did you notice the joke, up at the beginning of the chapter? Do your cardio every day and you'll be laughing at zombies as well. And follow all the other rules as well!

So tell us, what would be on your list for surviving the Zombie apocalypse?

Santa Clarita Diet

Married couple Sheila and Joel are real estate agents in Santa Clarita, California. The couple's lives take a dark turn after Sheila goes through a transformation – becoming a zombie who feeds on human flesh.

It took me some time to give this one a chance. It just sounded, idk, too silly even for a zombie comedy. But then I thought, why not, if nothing else, I'll get to stare at Timothy Olyphant for awhile. And boy, was I pleasantly surprised! 20 minutes long episodes full of funny moments. Yes, it's super silly, but it's actually what makes this show so funny.

Like... getting a human body to eat isn't easy if you are trying to not to kill anyone. So what do you do? That's right, go to a morgue.

And what if the whole family is trying to help? What could go wrong, right?

Fido

Welcome to Willard, a small town lost in the idyllic world of the '50s, where the sun shines every day, everybody knows their neighbor, and rotting zombies deliver the mail. Years ago, the earth passed through a cloud of space dust, causing the dead to rise with a craving for human flesh.

A war began, pitting the living against the dead. In the ensuing revolution, a corporation was born: ZomCon, who defeated the legions of undead, and domesticated the zombies, making them our industrial workers, our domestic servants--a productive part of society.

ZomCon would like the people of Willard to believe they have everything under control -- but do they? Timmy Robinson doesn't think so. At 11, Timmy already knows the world is phony baloney -- Mom and Dad just won't admit it. Now ZomCon's head of security has moved in across the street, and Timmy's Mom refuses to be the only housewife on the block who doesn't have a zombie of her own.

When she brings a zombie servant home, Timmy discovers a new best friend, and names him Fido. And even though Dad has a bad case of zombie-phobia, Timmy is determined to keep Fido, even if he does eat the odd person. Sometimes, it takes a dead man to teach us all what it means to be alive.

Yeah, this summary was a bit longer, but from what I understand, this movie isn't as known as I'd like it to be. So I wanted to be thorough. It's not your usual laughing from the beginning to the end comedy but I loved it. You know what? If you haven't just find it and watch it. If you are a zombie fan, you won't regret it.

Surprise, surprise!

Warm Bodies

The cutest zombie movie ever. A poignant tale about the power of human connection. After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human - setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.

Anyone here read the book this movie was based on? How did you like the movie adaptation?

I am guilty of not reading the book. I am a little scared of ruining the movie for me if I do since books tend to be much better than their adaptations... This version of Romeo and Juliet in a zombie world is just too sweet. I was watching it, again, while doing this chapter and it never gets old.

Aww...

I know, I know. Not many quizzes or questions today. We'll try something different today. What I would love for you all to do is to share a zombie comedy from your country.

I'll go first.

Choking Hazard

So, what is this movie about, besides zombies.

A philosophy professor leading his students on an existential excursion. What better place to ponder the meaning of life than at a remote motel completely isolated from the outside world? The Halali motel is just such a place, and upon arrival Professor Reinis and his students begin their philosophical debates as to just why they have been granted the gift of life. Unfortunately for the pondering pupils, a group of deceased woodsman have also been bestowed the very same gift. Now in order to understand the meaning of life, they will have to survive one harrowing night of death.

I know that people from different countries have different sense of humor, and so I managed to dig out a review made by a foreigner from London reviewer. So if you are a little curious about what she has to say about Choking Hazard, watch this video.
