David stared at the fire burning in front of him. He felt his eyes being consumed by it as it danced over the wood. It reminded him of a certain gypsy seen dancing around outside of the church, he scowled at himself for thinking of that woman again.

He turned from the fire and walked to an open window, overlooking the entirety of the church. "Beata Maria. You know I am a righteous man. Of my virtue, I am justly proud."

Et tibit parter

He walked from the window and turned to the fireplace that seemed to be mocking him, "Beata Maria. You know I'm so much purer than, the common, vulgar, weak, licentious crowd." He sneered as he thought of all the people who haven't devoted themselves to his cause.

Quia peccavi namis

"Then tell me, Maria. Why I see her dancing there. Why her smoldering eyes still scorch my soul?" He asked, wrapping his arms around himself and gripping his arms tightly. Marks were probably going to form on account to the way he was holding them.

Cogitatione

He watched with wide eyes as the fire formed a woman dancing right in front of him, "I feel her, I see her. The sun caught in her h/c hair is blazing in me out of all control," he confessed.

Verbo et opere

He grew anxious as his eyes widened at the figure dancing in the flames. "Like fire. Hellfire. This fire in my skin. This burning desire is turning me to sin," as he said this he had taken a small cloth you had given him and rubbed it against his cheek.

He wrapped it around his hands, almost as if he was going to rip it. He ended up hiding it in his robe and backing away from the fire. "It's not my fault (Mea culpa). I'm not to blame (Mea culpa). It is the gypsy girl, the witch, who sent this flame( Mea maxima culpa)," he said, flinching at the people in hoods surrounding him.

"It's not my fault (Mea culpa)! If in God's plan (Mea culpa)... He made the devil so much stronger than a man (Mea maxima culpa)!" He yelled as he felt the flames of desire surround his body.

He almost fell to his knees in a futile attempt to get rid of the fire and looked up to the cross sitting above the fireplace, "protect me, Maria! Don't let this siren cast her spell! Don't her fire sear my flesh and bone!" He took out the cloth that belonged to you and glared down at it, almost imagining you.

"Destroy Y/N and let her taste the fires of Hell," he gazed into the fire and watched as you screamed while the fire licked at your skin. "Or else let her be mine and mine alone," he said as smoke emitting from the flames turned into you and walked into his arms.

He stopped thinking of that for a second while one of his followers walked in, "Minister Abraham. The gypsy has escaped," he informed.

He turned to them with a surprised expression, "what?" He spat.

The follower felt their fear rise and quickly relayed the message, "she's nowhere in the cathedral. She's gone." He said.

David was clearly perplexed, "But how? I... Never mind. Get out, you idiot! I'll find her! I'll find her if I have to burn down all of Paris!" He stated while going back to the fire.

"Hellfire. Dark fire. Now gypsy, it's your turn. Choose me or your pyre. Be mine or you will burn," he watched as the flames began to grow and grow, he directed his glare at the cloth and threw it in. He watched the flames seared the cloth until only ashes were left.

(Kyrie Eleison) God have mercy on her. (Kyrie Eleison)
God have mercy on me. (Kyrie Eleison) But she will be mine or... She will burn!" He yelled as he fell to his knees and passed out on the ground, his lust for you becoming too much to bare.
