A/N: Cardin makes Jaune choose from either throwing a jar of sap and letting rapier wasps sting you and Pyrrha. Or he tells Glynda truth about Jaune.

Pyrrha was looking out the window of her dorm sadly as Lie Ren loaded his weapon and Nora was jumping on her bed.

Nora: How come Jaune gets home so late?

Ren: He's become rather scarce since he started fraternizing with Cardin.

Nora: That's weird... Doesn't he know we have a field trip tomorrow? We need our rest!

She proclaimed this while twirling in midair so her back hit the covers

Pyrrha: I'm sure our leader knows exactly what he's doing.

She said angrily while Nora and Ren exchange glances, not knowing that Jaune was looking in through the crack of the door.

Nora: Mmmm... I guess so.

Jaune hanged his head and closed the door, just as he heard Ruby greet him.

Ruby: Hey, Jaune!

She said as she startled Jaune, making him turn around to see her in her pajamas. She giggled at his reaction.

Ruby: Long time, no see! Did you lock yourself out again?

Jaune: Oh, uh, nope!

He raised his Scroll, attempting to laugh.

Jaune: Got it!

Ruby: So! Where have you been lately?

Jaune: I, uh...

He tried to come up with something, but he just sighed and lowered his head.

Jaune: I messed up. I did something I shouldn't have, and now Cardin has me on a leash, and Pyrrha won't even talk to me, and..."

He breathed heavily through his nose.

Jaune: I'm starting to think coming to this school was a bad idea.

He said as he pressed his back to his team's door and slid down to the floor in depression.

Jaune: I'm a failure.

Ruby: Nope!

He looked at her in surprise.

Jaune: Nope?

Ruby: Nope! You're a leader now, Jaune. You're not allowed to be a failure.

Jaune: But... what if I'm a failure at being a leader?

Ruby thought about it for a moment or so before she finally gave him her answer.

Ruby: Nope!

Jaune just laughed as the leader of team RWBY joined him on the floor.

Jaune: You know, you're not the easiest person to talk to about this kind of stuff.

Ruby: Nope! :3

Jaune leaned into the door some more.

Ruby: Jaune, maybe you were a failure when you were a kid...

Jaune groaned and sunk lower to the ground.

Ruby:... and you might've even been a failure the first day we met!

He groaned more and went lower still.

Ruby: But, you can't be one now. You know why?

Jaune: Uhhh, because.........

Ruby: Because it's not just about you anymore. You've got a team now, Jaune. We both do! And if we fail, then we'll just be bringing them down with us.

(Y/N): she's right, you know.

You said as you were approaching them.

(Y/N): you have to put your teammates first, and yourself second. Your team deserves a great leader, Jaune. And I think that can be you. Even if it's not perfect, it's still something.

You said and Jaune smiled as he was slightly inspired by both the words of you and Ruby. Ruby soon got up and headed to her dorm.

Ruby: Have a good night, Jaune!

She headed inside her dorm while you stood with Jaune.

(Y/N): just know that no matter what, don't let anything stop you and get in your way of becoming a good leader.

You said before walking to team rwby's dorm and headed inside as well. Jaune soon pushed himself off the ground and faced the door. He was ready to turn the knob and face his team until his Scroll beeped and he pulled it off of his side to open it. He saw Cardin's contact relaying a message.

Cardin: Hey! It's your buddy Cardin! I know you're probably busy with that Dust project I gave you, buuuut I'm gonna need you to go out and get me a bag of Rapier Wasps.

Jaune made a terrified sound in response.

Cardin: And make sure they've got some really big stingers! It's important, so don't screw this up!

Jaune closed his Scroll just when it began to beep again. He Sighed again and wearily headed down the hallway and away from his room.

(TimeSkip).

You and Teams RWBY, JNPR and CRDL were with Glynda as she was leading you all through a forest bustling with red leaves and gray trunks.

Glynda: Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so.

(Y/N)'s mind: for God's sake, we have a teacher as fast as sonic and a teacher named peach. Next thing you know, they'll starting saying that Nora actually has an even larger hammer like king dedede.

The group stopped and Jaune grunted as he was carrying a large case with six empty glass jars on top. He tried to catch up with them and ended up bumping into Cardin, who scowled at him. You turned to Cardin with a glar as he attempted to feign innocence by whistling tunelessly.

Cardin's mind: you won't be much of a problem after you're stung to death.

Glynda held up a full jar of their objective.

Glynda: Each of you is to gather one jar's worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here by 4 o'clock. Have fun!

(Y/N):........i kinda don't like how you said that.

Glynda: "whispers" if you come back sooner, we can have fun later~

(Y/N): 😶

You soon started to follow Ruby and the others to help them collect sap. While you were collecting sap with yang and Ruby, Jaune attempts to sneak away from Cardin to his team, but the blackmailer saw this and grabbed Jaune by the back.

Cardin: Come on, buddy. let's go!

Jaune looked up at his team, where Nora and Ren were already walking into the forest's depths and Pyrrha was staring sadly at the scene. Dropping his gaze, Jaune turned and followed team CRDL, much to the disappointed of Pyrrha as she sighed and walked away. You noticed this and walked to her.

(Y/N): something wrong Pyrrha?

Pyrrha: "sighs" I just wish that Jaune would allow me to help him.

(Y/N): Pyrrha, I understand that you want to help him. But this will take time before he can accept it.

Pyrrha sighed again.

(Y/N): don't worry, there will come a time where Jaune will need your help.

You said as you placed a hand on her shoulder. She slightly smiled.

(Meanwhile).

Team CRDL were making themselves as comfortable as possible by leaning on stones, trees, and the ground while Jaune approached the group with six full jars. He set them all down just as he collapsed face down on the ground. The surrounding team got up in response.

Cardin: Hey, great work, Jauney boy! Now that wasn't too hard, was it?

Jaune was still on the ground as he was both cross eyed and sounding dizzy.

Jaune: I think I'm allergic to this stuff...

Cardin: Greeeeat, great, great. So, Jaune, I bet you're asking yourself, "Why did my buddy Cardin ask me to collect six jars of tree sap when there's only five of us?"

He nodded while still exhausted.

Jaune: That is one of the many questions I have asked myself today, yes.

Cardin: Well, come with me, and you'll find out.

He said as Jaune sat up and gulped. Team CRDL and jaune were soon perched on a hilltop overlooking the other students. They simply watched as each other teams collecting the sap. Ren was kneeling to collect it from a tree and passed a full jar to Nora.

Nora: Mmmm!

Ren then traded it for the other jar in her care and turned back to the tree and started filling it up. However, he soon started hearing several licking sounds and looked down to see Nora, now with an embarrassed smile covered in red and an empty jar in her hands

Ren: -_-

Nora:😅

Jaune turned to his left.

Jaune: Cardin, wh...what's going on?

Cardin was still staring at the unsuspecting group sharply.

Cardin: Payback.

Jaune's eyes widened in understanding.

Jaune: Pyrrha...... (Y/N).........

He said as he first watch Pyrrha gathering more sap from a tree. Then he turned to you, who was continuing to help Yang and Ruby collect sap.

Jaune: Wh....what are you......

Cardin pounded his fist on the ground.

Cardin: That's the girl. Red haired know it all, thinks she's so smart. And him, him and his disgusting species should've never came to remnant in the first place. Alright, boys...

He pulled out a buzzing cardboard box with a large "W" written on it's sides.

Cardin: Last night, old Jaune here managed to round up an entire box of Rapier Wasps, and now, we're gonna put him to work.

Russel grabbed Jaune by the shoulder, who barely laughed in nervousness.

Cardin: Now, according to one of the essays you wrote for me last week, these nasty things loooove sweets.

Pyrrha was seen finishing her sap collection. As were you with Ruby and Yang.

Cardin: I'm thinking it's time we teach them a thing or two.

The members of CRDL got up as Cardin offered his hand to Jaune, only to painfully yank him up on his feet and shove the jar into his grasp.

Cardin: And you're gonna do it.

Jaune: Do what?

Cardin: throw this sap at them!

He leaned close to Jaune's face.

Cardin: Either that, or I'll have a chat with Goodwitch, and you'll be on the first airship out of Beacon.

Jaune looked down at the jar of sap in his hands and then up at the four grinning teammates waiting to see what happens. Jaune turned towards the group and aimed his throw at an oblivious and smiling Pyrrha, who was just a few inches away from you. Jaune soon hesitated on trying to throw the jar at you both until he finally came to the right decision.

Jaune: No.

Cardin: What did you say?

Jaune was gripping the jar tightly

Jaune: I. Said. NO!

He yelled as he turned and threw the jar at Cardin. The jar hit Cardin's breastplate, covering it in sap. The team members soon got angered while Cardin just looked at Jaune and laughed darkly.

Cardin: Oh, you've done it now...

Jaune nervously gripped his hands and kept an angered look despite being nervous about what he just did. Soon, Dove and Sky grabbed Jaune's shoulders and held him in place.
