Yang POV

After what happened in the Forever Fall Forest, I have been keeping a closer eye on (Y/n) and spending all my free time to just be with him. The abuse he went through clearly runs deep and I am doing everything I can to be there, to comfort, to care for my son. Oh, that reminds me, (Y/n) is officially a Xiao Long now, he was so happy when I told him. It is the weekend and I wanted to go out and do something fun with (Y/n), so I asked him while we were playing.

Yang: Is there something you want to do today?

(Y/n): What do you mean, Mommy?

Yang: Well, I was wondering if there's one thing you've always wanted to do, but never got the chance to.

(Y/n) started thinking, when he was living on his "parents" farm he never got out of the house, so there was probably a lot he didn't know about the world. Whatever he wanted to do, I would do it for him.

(Y/n): I would like to see the ocean.

Yang: I think we can make that happen.

(Y/n): Really?!

Yang: Of course, sweety.

(Y/n): Yay!

I laugh as (Y/n) jumps into my arms obviously excited about going to see the ocean. I tell the team to ready themselves for a day at the beach and except some protest from Weiss, we all got excited.

Timeskip 2 Hours Later

We are riding in a bullhead to a scenic spot on the coast of Vale, I look out the window and see we're coming to the cliff edge and pick up (Y/n) and tell him-

Yang: Alright, you ready? *(Y/n) nods* Just keep your eyes on the horizon.

We fly over the cliff and spread out before us was the most beautiful sight we have seen in a long time.

I can barely contain my excitement, as (Y/n) grows the biggest smile I had seen come out of him, ohhh, he's just so happy, which makes me really happy too. The bullhead lands, we disembark and set up the umbrella and towels, while I keep a watchful eye on (Y/n) so he doesn't get carried away. (Y/n) just looks so cute flowing with the waves, he'll go after the water as it recedes and run away when it comes back in, so cute. With everything set up Weiss is grabbed by Ruby and dragged into the water and the two start splashing eachother, Blake grabbed a book and simply started reading.

Yang: I'm going to go play with (Y/n). Will you be alright here by yourself?

Blake: Yup, I'll be okay. Besides, I think (Y/n) could use a confidence boost about now.

Yang: Huh?

I see (Y/n) looking at Ruby and Weiss having fun and wants to join, bit he's scared about entering the water especially since he doesn't know how to swim. I get up and walk to (Y/n) and ask whether he would like to try and learn how to swim. He was nervous but he said yes he would like to try, so I hold his hand and walk with him until he's about waist deep. I get on my knees and while holding hands I tell him...

Yang: You're ok, I've got you. Now I want you try just holding your breath and putting your face in the water. Don't worry, Mommy's got you.

(Y/n) grows a brave face and breaths in and then dunks his head into the water. After a few seconds he pulls his head out and breaths for a second.

Yang: Very good, sweety. Now I'm going to keep holding your hands while you start kicking your legs, just look at me and you'll be fine.

He does exactly what I told him and after a half hour of practicing, (Y/n) is in the beginning stages of become a real swimmer. I then lead (Y/n) to sneak up on Weiss and when we get close, I tell him.

Yang: Now!

SPLASH

We are laughing the we got the Ice Queen, then Weiss gets a devious smirk and goes.

Weiss: Why you little trouble makers. It's on now!

Ruby: Don't worry BFF, I got your back!

The four of us then start splashing eachother and having a fun time, until (Y/n) said he was hungry. So I picked him up and carried him over to the towels, I dried him off and pulled out some sandwiches and an orange. Over the course of his time with me he has put on a good amount of weight, but he still eats a lot, as expected for a growing boy. The five of us spent the whole day having fun at the beach, until it was time to head back.

Blake: Come on Yang, it's time to go!

Yang: Alright, just one more thing!

I take (Y/n) to the edge of the cliff and I take a seat and my son sits in my lap and he asks.

(Y/n): Are we waiting for something, Mommy?

Yang: *kisses (Y/n)'s head* Just watch the sun.

We sit and watch as the others watch from the bullhead, soon the sun starts to set on the horizon, giving the sky a purple orange hue.

(Y/n): Wow.

I am just content that (Y/n) is happy and his life will now be filled with happiness and wonder. I do plan on training him to be able to defend himself but when he feels like he can. As we watch the sun set, I hear (Y/n) yawn and rub his eyes, I smile and get us up.

Yang: Alright, come on. Sleep time, lumpy.

We board the airship and (Y/n) falls asleep in my arms as we fly back to Beacon. As I look at him, something in me has changed, is this what motherhood feels like? I mean my mother left when I was a baby and I never figured out why and my dad- Oh shit, I still haven't told dad about (Y/n)!

(A/N): Uh, oops. Well guess we know what's next, breaking the news to grandpa. Anyways, thank you all for your continued support and I'll see you next time. PEACE OUT!!!
