Yang POV

     I have been preparing to tell Dad about (Y/n) being my son for a week and now we actually have time off where I can go and see Dad in Patch. I pack up some clothes for (Y/n) and I, Ruby is staying because Weiss doesn't want to go back to Atlas and Blake did agree to come with because she had no where else to go. I am heading back to the dorm after telling Ozpin where I was going and that (Y/n) and Blake were coming with, when I hear mock laughter and (Y/n) crying.

(Y/n) POV

     I was searching for Mommy and I got lost in the halls and was just now wandering to the point of tears, I rounded a corner and I bumped into someone and fell to the ground. I looked up as four older boys turned to me and gained devious smirks the red head talked first as I tried to get away.

Cardin: Where do you think you're going?

(Y/n): Please leave me alone.

Cardin: Let's just see how tough you are without your blond bitch of a mother around.

(Y/n): *the point of tears* Don't say bad things about Mommy!

Cardin: Or what, are you gonna cry? Hahaha!

     Out of instinct, I punched Cardin in the nose and it sounded like it hurt a little, but now he was just pissed.

Cardin: That's it! Hold him boys.

     I struggle but the other boys are much stronger than me and hold me in place, I flinch away as Cardin gets a punch ready, but the hit doesn't come. I open my eyes and holding Cardin's wrist to the point of breaking it is-

(Y/n): Mommy!

Yang POV

     I am holding Cardin's wrist, but all I see is red, I punch Cardin hard and send him careening through several walls, I look at the others as they let go of my son.

Yang: RAAARRGGHH!

     They simply turn and run away as fast as they can, I force myself to calm down and turn to (Y/n) and he immediately jumps into my arms finally letting the tears fly.

Yang: I'm so sorry, I couldn't get here sooner.

(Y/n): Mommy came for me anyway.

     We stand there while I let him cry into my shoulder, I take him back to the dorm and just sit with him.

Yang: Shh, shh, you're okay now.

     The rest of the team walk in and immediately start doting on (Y/n) to help calm him down. After just sitting with him for a few more minutes Blake mentions it's time to get going.

Ruby: Say hi to dad for me.

Yang: We will.

     (Y/n), Blake and I board a bullhead and the pilot takes us to Patch, while we fly I turn to Blake.

Yang: Thank you for coming with Blake. To be honest I'm kinda nervous.

Blake: Of course, but what do you have to be nervous about?

Yang: Well, it's just at times dad can overeact to surprises.

Blake: *sarcastically* So, nothing like you?

Yang: Ah- Oh ok, I deserve that.

Blake: *giggles* You'll be fine, you turned out pretty great. I think your dad will happily accept (Y/n).

     Just then (Y/n) tapped my knee and he handed me a piece of his orange with a happy smile, I smile as I accepted.

Yang: You're right Blake. Thank you.

     Blake simply nodded and went back to reading.

Timeskip 1 Hour Later

     We finally arrive in Patch and I carry (Y/n) as Blake and I disembark and head to my dad's house. We eventually arrive and dad is out front training on a practice dummy.

Blake: Well, I can see where your fighting style comes from.

Yang: Yup.

     We approach the house and Zwei sees us and get really excited and barks, this alerts dad who sees us and smiles.

Taiyang: Hi Yang!

Yang: Hey dad! I want you to meet a couple people!

Taiyang: Come on in, I'll put some tea on.

     Dad went inside still eyeing (Y/n), we all head inside and Zwei is interested in (Y/n) and wants him to play. (Y/n) was a little nervous but I assured him Zwei was friendly and wanted to play, so that's what they did.

Yang: So dad this is my teammate and friend Blake Belladonna.

Blake: Nice to meet you, sir.

Taiyang: Taiyang, don't fret about formalities. It is nice to finally meet you though. So, I assume this isn't just a social call, Yang?

Yang: Correct, and it has to do with the boy I brought with me.

Taiyang: Alright, I'm listening.

Yang: I found him on the streets in the city of Vale, he was small, skinny, hurt and alone. So after I gained his trust, I had a doctor patch him up and the way he got those injuries was not... pleasant. When he woke up, I asked him how he got all those injuries, and all he said was..... his parents hurt him.

Taiyang: *eyes widen* My God. It's good you helped him, I am really proud of you.

Yang: *lighthearted* Thanks, because I also adopted him and he sees me as his mother.

Taiyang:.... Wait, what?

Yang: You heard me, that's your grandson.

     Dad takes a second to absorb what I just told him but all in all he seemed to take it in pretty well, especially when (Y/n) asked all of us to come play outside with him and Zwei. I started by chasing (Y/n) and Zwei through the front yard until dad got in front and caught him in his arms. Overall we had a really fun day and (Y/n)'s smiles made it all worth it.
