"Man, I didn't think that goblin blood was so hard to get off of your weapon! Just what is it?" After saving yet another village from a horde of Goblins, a group of warriors had settled down within the forest near it. Within this group, were five people. A powerful mage, an archer with a hawk's eye, a priestess with the ability to heal all illnesses and injuries, a scout who is fast enough to outrun any demon at top speed, and a hero whose strength is unmatched. "It believe someone said that their blood is similar to that of the mucus of a snail. I'm not quite sure however."

"Whatever it is, it's sticky and I fucking hate it!" The hero, Sun, groaned in annoyance as he had to wipe off even more blood from his staff. He hated dealing with those small creatures. Yes, they did allow him to blow off steam, but their were often too many to deal with. It was a good thing that they were only low level threats. Even trainees could take them out. "Ruby, could you come over here for a moment? I think a few of those goblins slashed me a little."

"Neptune, I told you to be careful and not to take them lightly."

"And why shouldn't I? They were weak as hell! Even a baby demon puts up a better fight."

"I... Nevermind."

As Ruby walked over towards Neptune, she paused for a moment and looked around. "Has anyone seen Y/N?"

"He said something about going to the village to get new daggers or something. Personally, I would've bought something else or maybe went to the nearest brothel. If battle doesn't please me, then the ladies will." Both Ruby and the mage, Weiss, rolled their eyes at Sun. Of course he would say something like that. After sleeping with Princess Blake of Menagerie, he believed himself to be at the pinnacle of all races. Truly, he was too arrogant. "Well I hope he comes back soon so that we can return home." As Ruby bent down a little, Sun's eyes slowly moved over towards her direction. "Nice and plump. Not at big as Princess Blake's or Weiss' but almost there." His attention was then taken away from her when he heard the sound of footsteps approaching them. Quickly, he turned his head to see the scout of the group. Y/N. Though Sun didn't notice it, there was a bit of anger in his eyes.

"Don't worry Ruby, I'm right here." Taking out his daggers, he revealed to the group that they were indeed new. Along the daggers were words of an ancient language native to the village they just saved. "Finally. I was getting tired of hearing Sun complain about blood ruining his damn staff. We all know that he just sticks it up his own ass anyways."

"What was that pale bitch?"

"Dude!" Neptune interjected.

"I said, we all know that you put it up your ass! Seeing as how you're too arrogant for your own good."

Sun's eye twitched a little before he bellowed a surprising laugh. "Arrogant? Coming from you? Funniest thing I heard all day!" Ruby then walked in between the two and cleared her throat. "Can everyone please calm down? Weiss, what you said was quite uncalled for."

"See? Even our lovely priestess agrees with me." Hearing the tone of Sun's voice, Y/N turned his head and scowled. He wanted to throw his throwing knives into the back of his head, but he knew he shouldn't do it. Though he was a hair away from doing so. "Whatever you say Ruby. Let's just head back home. I'm tired anyways." Finally calming down, the group back to walk along the trail with Sun in the front of them. As always. Weiss and Neptune blocked out what Sun was even talking about as well as the outside world and just remained silent. However, Y/N and Ruby were in the back, talking amongst themselves.

"So, I noticed that you changed your bracers. And they have the same symbols as your daggers. What do they mean?"

"I... don't believe I should say."

"Why not? Is it something personal?"

"Yes and no. I'll be sure to tell you later."

"Promise?"

"I promise."

"Arc promise?"

"Ruby, I'm not Jaune. Speaking of which, I hope he and his group are alright. Your sister is apart of it, yes?" Ruby then nodded.

"That's right. Yang told me about some of their adventures together. It's a shame that Pyrrha had to leave due to what happened..."

"Did she die?"

"No. However, she almost did. During a battle, she was possessed by their opponent and almost killed Jaune. After they killed the person possessing her, Pyrrha couldn't bare to look at Jaune and she quit. He tried to convince her that everything was okay, but she wouldn't listen."

"That's quite... upsetting. I was looking forward to training with her."

"...Y/N, may I ask you something?"

"Anything-"

"If I became possessed and attempted to kill you... what would you do?"

"I... I couldn't bare the thought of hurting you Ruby. My body would freeze up most likely."

"But what if I begged and pleaded for you to kill me? Are you sure your body would still freeze?"

"...I... do not know."

The two went silent for a moment before Ruby spoke up again. "So, do you think it's possible for us to transfer to another group? I heard that Velvet may have two openings. It would be great to leave this group since everyone is quite rude to each other."

"I hope so. The less I have to deal with Sun the better."

"Why do you hate him so much?"

"...There are things that you don't see that I do. Just know that."

"The best team has returned! Drinks on me!" A chorus of cheers could be heard as Sun and the rest walked into the guild. If anything fed Sun's ego, it would be the amount of women running up to him and trying their best to court him. Even some guys, who looked very much like women, tried to. Sun did not mind one bit that they were guys. He went both ways anyways. As he did this, Neptune and Weiss went their separate ways and so did Ruby and Y/N. The latter were headed to Ozpin to see if they could transfer groups. "I've never seen such fame go to one's head. Both of them."

Chuckling, Ruby's hand went to hold Y/N's, but she quickly pulled back. Ever since their mission to kill a raging Colossus, Ruby's feelings for Y/N had grown immensely. He had saved her numerous times that day and when they were stuck in a cave, the two had bonded quite well, growing closer with each day. She was surprised that Neptune of all people was trying to find them. However, that surprise went away the moment he said that all of them needed to be alive for them to be paid. If he were a sin, it would obviously be Greed.

"You go talk to Ozpin. I'll... go look for my sister."

"You sure? I believe it would be more effective if we-"

"I just need to make sure that she's alright. I don't want a scare like last time."

"...I understand. Tell her and her group that I said hello."

As Ruby watched Y/N walk away, she could feel her heart beating at an insane rate. The gods had placed a curse on her. And that curse, would be to love Y/N to the end of days. At least, that's what it felt like. Going down the stairs, Ruby was quick to find her sister and a blushing Jaune. She must've been flirting with him. "Yang!" The redhead shouted, gaining the attention of her blonde, older sister. "Hey Ruby! I saw you and Y/N walking off together. What was all that about? Oh! Is my little sister ready for... that? Oh Ruby!"

"N-No, that's not the case at all. We were just talking about things." Yang visibly rolled her eyes at her sister and looked back at Jaune. "Alright Jaune, I'll talk to you later. We're gonna have a sister talk." Jaune, still blushing, quickly walked off while saying something under his breath. "So little sister, does he know?"

"Does who-"

"Y/N. Don't think I didn't know. It's been quite obvious lately."

"R-Really?"

"Nope. Just said that to get you to open up."

"Dang it Yang!"

"Think the word you're looking for is damn. Not dang. Though you are a priestess so... Hehe..."

"...Do you think that he'll feel the same if I tell him?"

"I don't know. Do you know if he already does?"

"I... I'm not sure. It's possible based on how he was earlier."

"What do you mean?"

"Earlier he and I talked about our group and when I asked him about why he had Sun so much, he said something about seeing what I don't see."

For a brief moment, Yang stared at Ruby, confused. Seeing what Ruby didn't see? It was then that Yang completely understood and frowned before smiling. "Well, I know what he means. Also, I might punch Sun across the jaw later."

"What does it mean?"

"Sun was staring at you Ruby. Probably at these," Yang then poked Ruby's breast, causing her to blush "or your ass. And since he said that he sees it, it's probably your ass."

"A-Are you sure that's what he meant? What if it was something else?"

"Well, that's what I think. Ask him."

"I... I can't. He's doing something important."

"Well when he's done, talk to him, okay?"

"Okay. Oh! He said hi by the way. Where's Nora and Ren?"

"Those two love birds are off doing their own thing. And by that I mean each-"

"Yang!"

As night fell on Vale, the sounds of celebrating could be heard. Some were drunk, some were sober, and some were merry in the alleyway. However, Ruby for the most part, was alone in her room. Currently, she was looking out the window, looking to see if Y/N was out there. He wasn't in his room so she didn't have a clue as to where he was. "Maybe he's out training with Jaune? He did say that he would do it one day." As she let her thoughts out, Ruby heard a loud knock on her bedroom door. "Coming!" The young healer said. Quickly, she walked over towards the door and opened it to find a shirtless Sun standing before her. "Hey."

"Is there something wrong?"

"No... everything is alright Ruby. Just wondering why you aren't outside. Everyone is down there. Why don't you come down? It would be fun!"

"Sorry Sun, but I'm not really that kind of person. I'm quite... off when it comes to those."

"Ah, I understand. Not everyone is a drinker or someone who celebrates like this." Sun then smiled at Ruby and stared directly into her eyes. "You know... I never noticed that you have silver eyes before. They really shine well in the dark."

"I... Thank you. Not a lot of people notice it. I don't think even Weiss and Neptune noticed."

"What about Y/N?"

"I think he did."

"You think?"

"Well I'm... not sure."

"Well, if they didn't, I want you to know that those eyes of yours are quite beautiful. However, they are just one beautiful piece of you Ruby. Your heart is another big piece. You care so much for the people that we come across and it makes me feel..." Sun then looked away for a moment before chuckling. "I can't really explain it." Looking back at Ruby, Sun's placed his finger under her chin, causing the redhead to step back. "That's... very sweet of you Sun. However... I feel like I have to ask you something."

"Whatever your heart desires."

"Is this another attempt at trying to sleep with someone?"

"Whatever-"

"You did this before. I know you have. All of us have seen this happen before."

"Ruby, I'm absolutely appalled! I never did this to any woman."

"Sun, please stop this. I won't be swayed by someone like you."

Sun's eyes then twitched for a moment before he smiled. "You have someone... right?"

"I... Yes, I do."

"Who is it? Jaune? Ren? Fox? Sage? Y/N?"

"It's none of your business Sun. Now please leave. I'm quite tired."

Continuing to smile, Sun back away from the door, allowing Ruby to slam it. "I can't believe this. He really attempted to come on to me like I was some desperate girl." Sitting down on her bed, Ruby looked up at the ceiling and closed her eyes, picturing Y/N's smile and his arms wrapped around her. Now, more than ever, she truly believed that the gods cursed her to love him.
