"Flavia, are you sure?"

"Yes, Nal. I'm going to the Conversion Camp."

"But. What if they find out?"

Flavia bit her lip, she had called Drake the moment she entered her room to tell him about what happened with Adam. To say that he was angry would have been an understatement and it took some convincing from her and Tribetron for him not to bring hell on her brother or to drag her to Dragon Mountain. After that, they talked about her trip tomorrow (she would only be having Science, the field trip would last the entire day). He wanted to make sure she was certain about her decision.

"Flavia?"

"They won't find out."

"What if they do?"

"It's an 'if', Nal."

"A good 'if'!"

Flavia sighed, "I'm going to be fine. I'm covering my marks with makeup, plus wearing a jacket. If they ask me to remove my jacket I'll be wearing a shirt with short sleeves."

"And since you covered your marks they won't be seen."

"Exactly."

"And if the makeup gets smudged or removed?"

"Powers." Flavia sing-sang, "I can cover my marks with my ability until I can reapply."

"How long can you hold it?"

"As long as I want unless I lose concentration."

"Why do I feel like something is going to go wrong?" Flavia could hear Nalia sigh from her end of the call, "Fine. Just. Be safe, ok? Don't do anything rash, and whatever you are planning on doing. Be careful."

Flavia smiled promising she would do her best before hanging up. She turned around to see Adam on her doorway with crossed arms, her smile dropped as she moved one of her hands behind her back, sparks flew from her fingertips. The siblings stared at one another as silence fell upon them. Adam's face was unreadable, but Flavia kept her eyes on his watching as they went through various emotions and thoughts before settling on one.

Confusion.

"What field trip? Who were you talking with?"

"For Computers," Flavia shrugged her voice cold and eyes calculating. "Not sure how it relates, but I'll only take my first class tomorrow."

"Why would you need to cover..." his eyes looked at her covered arms as if he could see past the fabric.

"Why would you care?"

"You are my sister."

She scoffed and the sparks behind her back began to form the hilt of a dagger. She closed her eyes calming herself before opening them to look at him again. Adam had moved from his spot on the doorway to sitting on her bed, she narrowed her eyes and noticed that he had closed the door. Their eyes met once more but Flavia looked away first.

"That word didn't mean much yesterday or the days before." He stayed quiet, she continued. "And anyway, you'll probably find out about the field trip from Steve. Or did you forget his sister is in my grade?"

"I know it's to the Conversion Camps."

Flavia chuckled causing her brother to stiffen, "So what? Are you going to try and stop me? What would they think?"

"When they find out you are–"

In the blink of an eye, Flavia had a dagger pointed at her brother, "What? I'm a what?" Her eyes flashed dangerously and Adam gulped feeling the cold tip of the blade. "I don't care if you out me, but outing me would bring harm to others. I will watch the world burn before I let that happen." She leaned down so their eyes were on the same level, but she still held authority at that moment. Her voice became cold, dangerous, promising pain if Adam even hinted of her true nature.

"I don't care if you are my brother." She hissed, "You make one move against our survival, I will not hesitate to eliminate the threat."

She stepped away moving the dagger from his throat and Adam breathe the breath he was holding, clutching his neck with wide, terrified eyes. Flavia didn't look away from his as she willed the dagger to disappear in a shower of gold and with the hand that once held a weapon, she pointed at her open door. Adam didn't need to be told and he left the room, pale and terrified, wondering if the girl who just threatened him was actually his sister and the one who he had been living with was an act.

One thought stayed in his mind.

Monster.

Looking back, he saw Flavia rubbing her covered arms looking at her window. Her eyes seemed far away as if searching for something or someone. Turning around once more Adam made his way to his room not bothering to close the door. Flavia looked back and saw that her door was closed she went towards it and locked it before closing her curtains. Shrugging off her jacket Flavia went to the bathroom to take a quick shower before changing into her pajamas. She'll stay in her room and wait to be called for dinner, after that she would go to bed early.

She closed her eyes trying to get rid of the image of her brother staring at her with so much fear. Deep down she felt guilty, but her instinct insisted it was the right thing to do. Because in the end Riders weren't truly 'human', they followed their instinct, and her instinct told her to attack.

I need to be well rested, she told herself almost picturing that she was talking to Fawn. Can't let my guard down. Not when I'm going to the predators' territory. Can't let him get to me.

A growl of agreement echoed in her mind and Flavia smiled. She got the message loud and clear.

She may be going to the territory of the enemy, but she wasn't the prey. She was one-half of the most dangerous predators and humans would be sorry for messing with their kind.

It doesn't necessarily need to be in that order :)

P.S.

The next update will take longer than usual because of schedules and life in general. My semestral exams are soon and I want to do everything I can to get exempted from most, if not, all of them. Sorry for the inconvenience, but my priorities are school.

I hope you understand, thank you.
