"Ekantha, what a surprise!",Mayuri said.

Mayuri was in a state of shock and surprise, coming out of it mentally smacking herself for making Ekantha stand at the door step she says ,"Come in please"

Ekantha was getting restless and just wanted to confirm if Abhi was doing okay or not and when she asked Anika if it would be wrong of her to visit him, Anika ended up encouraging her to meet him as that would only prevent any further misunderstandings from happening.

Ekantha took slow steps after Mayuri, her eyes roamed around the house. It was her first time coming here and maybe who knew she would stay here forever. It felt all new to her, there was a foreign feeling building within her as she scanned the surroundings.

Her eyes landed on the photo frames and she took steps towards it.

There was a family picture in the middle, on either sides there were few childhood pictures of Abhimanyu and Mayuri, followed by a few certifications that Abhi recieved. Last but not the least, there were a few pictures of Abhi and Mayuri only which seemed a bit recent type photo shoot. A small smile crept on her face looking at the pictures.

"Ekantha, what a surprise! Why are you still standing, dear? Come, sit",Vishalakshi said entering the living room.

"Namasthe aunty",she said and bent to take blessings from her.

Vishalakshi blessed her and made her stand. She felt something was off with Ekantha,it was written on her face all over.

She made her sit on the couch, and asked Mayu to get something for her.

"Aunty, no I mean I am sorry! I just wanted to see if Abhi is at home? He wasn't answering calls or texts which made me quite worried. So I came to check on him, I'm sorry for bothering you",she said slowly biting her lips.

"What is there to bother in this, Ekantha? We are your family as well and there is no time restrictions for you to come and go in this home. Oh, and I forgot to inform you that Abhi is down with fever dear that's the reason he wasn't answering any calls. I had to inform you in the morning when I talked to your mother but it just slipped out of my mind. You must have been so worried, I'm sorry dear",Vishalakshi was feeling really guilty. She shouldn't have forgotten a thing like this especially in this phase it would make it worse for her.

She felt no amount of apologies can make it up, but she just needs to be careful about it from the next time.

"Ekantha, have some water at least",Mayuri said handling her a glass of water which Ekantha gulped down quickly.

"Aunty, please don't apologize it's not your mistake. You must have been busy with work and also you had to take care of him. I understand, I just wanted to make sure if he was okay. I'll take your leave now",she says and gets up from the place.

"Where do you think you are going, Ekantha?",Vishalakshi asked in a serious tone.

"I.. Aunty.. that",Ekantha was stammering trying to form words.

Something that still triggered her was the serious tones and people fighting with each other. It just makes her feel so overwhelmed and vulnerable that

"Ekantha, I was just joking around. Where will you go without meeting Abhi? You came to check on him right?",Vishalakshi said.

"Yeah, Ekantha! Come let's wake up that idiot",Mayuri said and pulled her towards Abhi's room.

Mayuri opened the door, Ekantha was still outside the door confused if she was to go inside the room Or not.

"Ekantha, come let's prank him",Mayuri said and winked at her.

"No, Mayu! He is sick let him sleep and I will just see him once and go back. It's already getting late also",Ekantha said.

But in reality, she wanted to ask him if he was doing okay and if he needed some help but who was she to ask and do all this?

The question was killing her from within. The worst part was, she was the one who can answers her questions all by herself but she was afraid about accepting the harsh reality.

On the other hand, Abhi was a light sleeper and hearing the noises of people talking he woke up.

"There you go, his highness is up. Your highness, Ekantha is here",Mayu said acting all dramatic.

It took a minute for Abhi to understand that Ekantha was really there he kept staring at Mayuri and Ekantha one after the other.

"Hello? Sir? Are we audible? Visible?",Mayuri brought him back to the reality.

"Ekantha? You're here? I mean, it's not like you shouldn't come but I wasn't expecting you to be here",he said getting up from his place.

His face looked pale and there were fifty shades of black under his eyes. He looked pathetic.

"Me too"she whispers to herself.

"What?",he asks and she nods her head as no.

"You both talk! Annaya, Ekantha wasn't taking anything. Now that you both are going to talk, I'll get some biscuits for Ekantha and soup for you",Mayuri said and vanished before she could hear anything from either of them.

"Is everything okay, Ekantha?",he asked her.

"Yeah, what could possibly go wrong? Everything is fine. What about you? How did you fell sick?",she asked.

"Stress, just work stress. Work load has been a lot these days that's all",he said to which she nodded.

"You should take enough rest, Abhi. You are going to spoil your health that's all at this rate and nothing else. Take breaks in between and eat properly",she said.

"Aye aye captain! How can I say no for anything that you say?",he said and Ekantha gave a small smile to his words.

"Aha, finally earned that cute smile. How's work? All good?",he asked.

"Yup, all good. I.. I just got scared that you weren't responding to calls and messages",she confessed.

"Why were you scared, Ekantha?",Abhi asked.

"I..I..don't know. The fact that I am growing attached to you is scaring me. People being civil to me, talking to me friendly and making me feel like I am an individual and I have feelings too isn't something that happens everyday in life for me",she said.

"I understand, Ekantha. I want you to give me a chance to be civil with you, to talk to you friendly and make you feel like an individual who have feelings all life long. Will you give me that chance, Ekantha?",Abhinanyu asked.

"I wish I could give that to you, Abhi but why should you bear someone like me all your life? What if you get tired one day? This question that maybe you deserve someone better keeps haunting me. You are everything that a girl would ever wish for and why would you want for deal with a girl who is dealing with her insecurities and gets scared at your silliest of the silliest pranks that you do to pull my leg",Ekantha let it all out as if she hit the saturation point and can't withhold things anymore.

"Why do you think it is bearing you, Ekantha? I know a lot of things might have happened in your life which I don't know about but the thing is not about bearing, it's about deciding you as my life partner and remember deciding all by myself not because someone told me Or some one suggested me. I am taking this decision all by myself with full conscious, we'll deal with it if something goes wrong. You'll be there, right?",he asks holding her hands in his and looking straight into her eyes.

Her hands were cool, craving for warmth  and that's exactly what she got from him.

"I don't.. I don't know, Abhi",she said and she looked at their hands entwined with each other. They looked perfect with each other.

"We don't have to know everything in this world, Ekantha. We just have to know ourselves better than anything else. In the process of knowing ourselves we'll learn everything else. Okay, let's continue this some other time again? Yeah? My eyes are almost dropping and I don't want to drive sleepily so let's drop you home?",he asked.

"No no, Abhi thanks for the offer but Anika and Dikshit are waiting outside for me. They'll drop me home and also meet amma at the same time. And, no matter how many times I come up with the same insecurity to you, you come up with a new way to convince me in a positive way. I like that about you",she said and smiled at him...
