**Request for marvellousgreys where Peter is the biological son of Tony and Pepper, and his class has to work on a very specific project that ends up revealing more than Peter wanted. Enjoy!**

Peter stared at his desk in utter and complete frustration. There was a little more to the frustration than usual homework anger - he was assigned a family tree for his biology class, and that posed a whole slew of problems.

Peter Parker was a cover. A good cover, but a cover nonetheless. Happy and May, his security detail, were his Uncle and Aunt, respectively. Peter Parker was orphaned, living in downtown Queens, where Happy and May actually lived, and as far as anyone at his school knew, he was a nobody.

Peter Stark was a reality. Peter Stark was the son of Tony Stark and Pepper Potts and lived in downtown New York proper, in the penthouse suite of the Stark Industries Tower. He was training to be the next Stark Industries CEO and heir to a multi-billion dollar fortune.

Those two stories needed to stay very, very separate.

Peter sighed and put his head down in his arms. Taking a few calming breaths for strength, he finally pushed himself up and off his desk. He grabbed his assignment before heading out to the kitchen, where his parents were cooking dinner.

"Help."

Peter practically threw the papers down on the island, but they got caught in the breeze he had made and floated around him. He just sat at the island barstools and put his head back down.

Pepper gathered up the papers and scanned them quickly. "I see. Well, I think we should start talking about this, then."

Tony looked over Pepper's shoulder and read the assignment name. "A family tree?"

Peter nodded.

"Listen, Peter, we have been talking about this a little, and with your senior year of high school coming up, we were going to talk to you about coming clean about your real family situation, if for no other reason than we can't send you to college all by yourself. And having your 'aunt' and 'uncle' move with you is just going to draw attention to the situation."

Peter looked up from his arms with narrowed eyes. "So you want me to do this stupid thing and show up at school to say I'm a Stark? Oh, yes, that'll go great! I can't imagine any reason someone wouldn't believe that one."

"Watch the sass, Bambi," Tony said with a flick to Peter's forehead. "But yes. I think it'd be best to start with classmates, actually. It's a controlled environment of people you already know."

Peter gave a huff. "You all just want me to get bullied worse."

Tony and Pepper exchanged looks. "You're being bullied?" Pepper asked.

"No," Peter said automatically, then he shrugged. "Sometimes. It's never bad, I promise, but this is going to make it worse. For 17 years, my cover story was being a poor orphan, and now I'm going to claim to be from one of the most wealthy families in America? They're going to say I'm doing it for attention."

Pepper opened her mouth to say something, but Tony put a hand on her shoulder. "Hold on, Pep. Maybe we should start with the press, then. We don't want there to be any misunderstandings here, least of all a misunderstanding that ends in a child with a broken nose."

Pepper just rolled her eyes. "You're both incredibly dramatic."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Peter walked into his biology class looking more than a little nervous. He could only trust Pepper and Tony to take care of things on their end and keep moving forward. Ned waved from the desk he and Peter shared, and Peter headed over. And then it was time to present his family tree.
"Well," Peter started, holding up his poster. "The truth is that for the last 17 years, I've been living a lie. I'm not Peter Parker. I'm actually Peter Stark, and my parents are Tony Stark and Pepper Potts. You can tell that I don't look anything like my mom, but I do have a bit of her eye shape. Mostly, I look like my dad, and I inherited a lot of his other traits-"
Peter noticed his teacher's incredulous look and let his words die out. "Mr. Mack?"
"Mr. Parker, this is- this is ridiculous. You cannot honestly expect any one of us to believe this farce! Now, I'm going to fail you today and you aren't going to get a chance to make the assignment up. We'll just have to see how this effects your grade."
Peter's face fell. "I swear, I'm telling the truth! It's the truth!"
The teacher rolled his eyes. "Enough. I'm done with you-"
The teacher stopped short as Peter's phone pinged. The teen scrambled for it and his eyes scanned over the screen eagerly. "There! Here, here! Look it up, Stark Industries just put out a statement about this!"
Bless Pepper and her incredible timing.
The teacher took Peter's phone and held it out at arms length. He scoffed, then pulled out his own phone and searched for the article. Sure enough, it was all over the internet. Every major news outlet was covering the press release, including the BBC.
"'Tony Stark and Pepper Potts Announce Secret Son'," he read out loud. "'In a statement given mid-day, Mrs. Potts announced their 17 year old son, Peter Stark, has been using the alias 'Peter Parker' for his entire life in order to protect himself from societal pressure. Now that Peter is getting ready for college and taking over the company, we decided it was time for him to step into the limelight and come clean.'"
The teacher's face was an unnatural pale, as was most of Peter's classmates'. Ned was the only one who seemed unfazed by the whole thing, but he'd known since he and Peter started hanging out in middle school.
"I told you, I was telling the truth!"
The teacher looked back at Peter and his poster, then visibly deflated. "Alright, Mr. Par- Mr. Stark. Continue."
Peter beamed and pointed to his poster. "Cool. Well, this is the Stark Family tree. I'm right here, at the bottom, and everyone who came before me worked hard to build our family and our company."
So maybe the family tree assignment had been a blessing in disguise, but Peter would never admit it out loud. After all, it was still a homework assignment.
