Being a leader in the Glade wasn't an easy job. Being a leader AND the only girl was even more difficult. Luckily for you, there was one person in the Glade that was always there for you. He was determined, protective, a Keeper like you and mean to anyone who crossed him. Gally. Gally was the Keeper of the Builders and you, much to a lot of the boys' chagrin, were the Keeper of the Med-Jacks. The people you saw the most were the Slicers and the Builders. That was how you and Gally became so close and eventually, the two of you got together.

Despite what the boys thought, Gally wasn't always so hard hearted. With you, he was patient and kind. He had felt the need to protect you the minute you came up in the Box and now, the two of you were the most feared couple in the Glade. Not because you were the only couple, but because the other boys knew Gally would have their heads if they did anything to hurt or upset you. Not that they ever would. They loved you like a sister. So, when you were hurt, they were terrified to tell Gally and sent the smallest of the group to do it. Poor Chuck.

"G-Gally?" Gally stifled a groan as he turned away from his work to glare at the boy. "What do you want, Greenie?" he snapped. Chuck chewed on his lip for a moment, causing Gally to cross his toned arms over his chest, waiting for Chuck to tell him. Chuck was a stuttering mess until Gally finally got frustrated. "Out with it, Greenie!" Chuck jumped and nearly klunked his pants.

"It's...it's Y/N. She ran into the Maze," the younger boy told Gally, his voice barely above a whisper. Gally's eyes widened before he pushed passed Chuck toward the doors to the Maze. He had to get you out of there before the doors closed. No one survived a night in the Maze. Gally ran as fast as his legs would carry him and wondered why you had gone into the Maze. You weren't a Runner.

"Why is she in there, Newt?!" the Keeper yelled at the second-in-command. "Ben came back, saying Minho was injured and she just took off. Ben went after her, but she's bugging fast. Faster than we thought. We've still got some time before the doors close." Gally surveyed his surroundings, trying to decide if he could get by everyone and run into the Maze. The look Alby was giving him told him not to risk it. Gally couldn't even think of going back to work as he waited outside the Maze for you to come back out.

Finally, just as the sun began to set, Gally saw you. You and Ben had Minho between you and were dragging him toward the Glade. Gally wanted nothing more than to run over to you, but he knew you'd kill him if he stopped you from saving Minho after you risked your life to go out there to get him and bring him home. You stumbled into the Glade and set Minho down on the ground. "Clint! Jeff!" you snapped, your voice exhausted but still full of authority, "Get this shank into the hut and look him over."

The two boys jumped to do what you said as you turned to face Gally, who simply stood there staring at you with his eyes full of admiration. "Are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna kiss me, shank?" you asked. You had a playful smirk on your face that made Gally laugh. He pulled you to him and kissed you softly. When he pulled back, the smile was gone from his face. "Don't ever do something that shucking stupid again, Y/N."

You arched a brow. You didn't really like people telling you what to do. "So, you would have rather I left Minho out there for the Grievers? Not a chance. He's my friend and if you think one minute you can tell me not to help my friend, you are sadly mistaken." You went on and on until Gally rolled his eyes and chuckled.

"I didn't say that. I just meant I don't want you getting hurt or stuck in the Maze." You scoffed and laughed at him. "I get it. But, if I got hurt I can take care of myself. I am the Keeper of the Med-Jack, you know." Gally sighed and threw his arm around your shoulders. "I know," he whispered as he kissed your temple. One of the boys tried to approach you, but Gally's glare made them quickly run away. You rolled your eyes and shook your head. "Really, Gal?" He shrugged and walked you over to the Med-Jack tent. He didn't let you out of his sight for the rest of the day. The Maze frightened him more than he cared to admit and now that he could have lost you to it, Gally was determined to protect you at all costs. You only prayed he'd be able to.
