Country music thrums from the overhead speakers blocking out the sounds of the seniors. Senior prom, one of the biggest nights of peoples lives. A petite young woman waits in the corner, her eyes roaming the crowd.

"Please get here soon Nathan." The girl murmurs rubbing her sweaty hands against her pale grey dress. The butterflies in her stomach are quelled when she sees an awkwardly tall boy darting through the crowd towards her. Besides his height he stands out because unlike many of the other boys he isn't wearing a suit, just a dress shirt. A black leather jacket hangs off of his shoulders as he finally reaches the waiting girl.

"I am so sorry I'm late Alyssa. God you look beautiful." Nathan says, his eyes widening when he sees his date. From the pocket of his coat he produces a corsage made with a beautiful black rose surrounded by a trio of white roses.

"At least you showed up." Alyssa murmurs her eyes locked on the beautiful corsage. Nathan gently grabs her arm slipping the corsage onto her wrist.

"Of course! I couldn't very well leave my best girl dancing alone, now could I?" Nathan murmurs, pushing a strand of Alyssa's hair off of her face. Alyssa blushes looking down at her feet. Nathan grins offering Alyssa his hand. "May I have this dance?" Alyssa takes Nathan's hand.

"Of course Nate."

The couple walks out onto the crowded dance floor, as the song changes to a new piece by Lee Brice. Nathan places his hands on Alyssa's lower back and she rests hers on his shoulders.

"I didn't know you were much of a dancer." Alyssa murmurs resting her head against Nathan's chest.

Nathan shrugs, "I'm usually not. Only for you." Alyssa blushes pressing her face into Nathan's chest. "You've got me in the palm of your hand girl, cause I don't dance."
