Both titan groups closed in on one another to clash and begin the real battle.

Akane aimed the EM assault rifle and fired at the alien titan, testing its defense against the weapons. The special bullets seemed to contact the shield that Gigan had placed around and deflect, though some of them went through the barrier to hit the alien titan. This made Gigan snarl angrily and dive down at Shiryu, extending its sword pincers to go for a slash at the mechagodzilla. Akane expertly piloted Shiryu out of the way by boosting away using the heel thrusters, also using the low gravity to assist. Shiryu's feet planted themselves on a large boulder, and Akane quickly made the mechagodzilla thrust forwards from there to get back to Gigan, who was now on the ground. The alien titan was about to slash at Shiryu, but Akane fired the shoulder laser cannon and the missiles to keep testing Gigan's shield for a weakness.

The shield from Gigan deflected the laser beams, but the missiles hit and pushed them back, a few gaps being shown on the shield's surface. Upon closer inspection, Akane realized that the shield was meant for defense against energy weapons, but not much for physical ones. So, quickly taking that into account, Akane pulled Shiryu back in order to aim the railgun and fire a round. Unfortunately, the recoil was strong, and due to the low gravity, it made Shiryu fall backwards as the railgun round shot through the air. The shot pierced right through Gigan's shield, but missed its target as it nicked its shoulder. Seeing that its shield was pierced, Gigan let out an angry roar and charged towards Shiryu, extending its sword pincers to go for close quarters combat. Akane made Shiryu stand up again and put away the assault rifle, now switching to fight Gigan head on as she deployed Shiryu's vibrating arm blades.

Gigan let out a screech and then jumped up, slamming down the sword pincers to clash against Shiryu's blades. The clash sent sparks flying, the blades pushing against each other as the alien titan and mechagodzilla tried to overtake one another. Then Gigan pulled back and swiped its sword pincers to slash at Shiryu's head, but Akane saw the move coming and ducked down. The AI began to act up again, but this time Shiryu himself intervened to quickly deploy the maser cannon and fire directly at Gigan's chest. The beam hit the alien monster and pushed it back, making it screech in pain and fall back. Not letting them a chance to recover, Akane piloted Shiryu to give Gigan a punch on the chest as well as a kick, taking it down. Seeing that it was down, Akane quickly piloted Shiryu to run forwards to jump up, ready to slash down at Gigan with the blades. However, Gigan recovered and flew away before Shiryu could reach them. Once at a safe distance in the air, the alien titan roared and shot its powerful red laser down at Shiryu. Akane pulled up both blades in front to shield Shiryu from the attack, the beam hitting the blades and deflecting some bits away from the mechagodzilla. The blades heated up, but continued to remain solid as they protected Shiryu and Akane from getting hit. Once the beam ceased from firing and the smoke cleared, Akane boosted Shiryu up to the air using the vernier thrusters to get to Gigan in the air and attack them. Gigan just flew out of the way, and Akane moved Shiryu's head to fire the maser cannon and the shoulder laser to hit the alien titan.

While Akane was busy with Gigan, she caught brief glimpses of what the other titans were doing to take down the MUTO servants. Gojirin fought like any other Godzilla would be seen fighting; firing her atomic breath, ramming against opponents, heaving them up and throwing them away, slashing with her claws, and using her tail to swipe or knock them out or down. It was difficult for Gojirin to focus on one opponent, especially the MUTOs that were big or could fly which went around and got the chance to catch the female Godzilla unaware. Luckily, there was Mothra to intervene and aid the titans, who could fly much more better than the male MUTOs. The moth titan flew around expertly through the air, using her silk to immobilize her opponents. For close combat, she used her sharp legs and pincers to slash at the MUTOs, her stinger to pierce their hides, and even her jaws to severely maim a few of them. When Gojirin was in trouble, Mothra flew to her aid and used her own wings to clasp them together, creating a sonic blast that knocked the opponent down and acted like a biological flashbang. While Mothra kept those on the air, and sometimes on the ground, busy in order to help aid the titans, Anguirus also helped Gojirin with the ground opponents. The armored and spiked titan gave out angry bellows as he charged towards all nearby MUTOs, crashing into them or rolling into a ball of pain in order to trip his opponents. He even used his tail to give painful swipes at the creatures, and further going to the point of biting their legs like a large infuriated canine titan. The MUTO's did what they could to trample or bash the three titans into submission while Gigan and Shirty continued to fight.

The alien titan swung both of its sword claws down upon Shiryu, which Akane moved the mechagodzilla to block the attack again with the arm blades. Both of Shiryu's feet planted firmly on the ground as the weight of the alien titan's attack slammed down, not giving way to collapse. Gigan hissed as it opened its jaws in fury, the spikes on its chest beginning to glow red. Immediately after the chest spikes began to vibrate rapidly as of it were a buzzsaw, now starting to move them near Shiryu's chest. Realizing that Gigan wanted to damage them, Akane pushed back to let go of the sword pincers, making Gigan fumble in its steps. Taking chance of an opening, Akane pulled back the blades of Shiryu's arms and delivered a punch at Gigan's chest again, doing the same with the other arm carefully to avoid the middle buzzsaw. When Gigan seemed dazed enough, Akane moved Shiryu around to use its tail and slam the creature away. The alien titan screeched as it fell back and slammed to the ground, unable to move quickly. Akane used this chance to pilot Shiryu and slam the mechagodzilla's foot down on the alien titan's neck, restraining its movement. She aimed the railgun and laser cannons to fire at point blank range.

However, when Gigan recovered its senses fully, they snarled and then used the force of the sword pincer swing to knock the foot off from itself. It also used its tail to knock the back of Shiryu's head away to stun the mechagodzilla. Akane grunted as she moved the controls to straighten up and move Shiryu away before Gigan could slam down its sword pincer tip on them. Still being in close proximity with the alien monster, Akane aimed and fired some missiles. Gigan saw them approach and quickly folded its sword pincers inwards, moving its hands in front and extending its finger. The tip of the clawed finger glowed with red energy before shooting some sort of small scatter lasers, which shot down and destroyed the missiles. Akane went into the smoke and slashed at Gigan, but the alien titan evaded the attack and swing its sword pincer at Shiryu's side. The mechagodzilla seemed to roar in pain as sparks flew, and Akane grunted as she felt the large impact. She made Shiryu step back and brace for the next impact, but instead Gigan flew and landed a drop kick on Shiryu's chest.

The blow sent Shiryu reeling away and crashing into a crystal, threatening to knock Akane unconscious. Gigan made a sort of laughing sound, due to the movement of its beak jaws, as it moved its sword pincers together to sharpen them. The alien monster slowly walked over to Shiryu, preparing its words before swinging one of them down on top of the mechagodzilla. However, Akane and the AI reacted quickly as they caught Gigan's sword pincer with Shiryu's hand. With the other hand, Shiryu grabbed Gigan by the neck, the mechagodzilla giving an angry growl. The alien titan gagged and flailed around as it tried to break free from the grasp, but Akane grunted as she heaved Gigan up with all of the mechagodzilla's strength...and then slammed them down on the ground hard. Gigan screeched in confusion as its air was nearly knocked out, lying almost limp on the stone ground. Shiryu gave a victorious roar, Akane subsequently taking this chance to charge up the maser cannon and ready the shoulder railgun to fire. Gigan tried to get up and recover, but not before Akane fired Shiryu's maser cannon. The alien titan blocked the beam with its two sword pincers, just in time to shield itself from the attack. Akane, seeing that Gigan was pinned down, aimed now carefully the railgun directly at Gigan before pulling the trigger. The round blasted from the barrel...straight into Gigan's shoulder near the chest. The alien titan screeched in pain, which was abruptly cut off by the blast of the explosion inside the shoulder.

Shiryu moved its arms in an almost instinctive way that Akane would do, jumping back to cover themselves from the blast so it wouldn't blind them. The smoke spread around, making it difficult to determine if Gigan had been taken out or severely injured. "Did we make it?" Akane asked as she and Shiryu watched with silence. Her question was soon answered when Gigan suddenly burst from the smoke with an angry screech, making Akane nearly jump from her seat as the alien titan charged at them. From the looks of things, Gigan's shoulder was wounded severely, and it was slowly healing. Gigan was extremely angry as it screeched and rammed into Shiryu, making the mechagodzilla be knocked down onto the ground. Akane gave a frightened yell as the whole cockpit shook because of the impact, and soon tried to bring Shiryu back to its feet. Gigan however didn't let them get the chance to do so as it suddenly outstretched one of its arms, some organic red tendrils shooting out of its wrist. Akane pulled the controls in order to move Shiryu's arm up, but the tendrils were too fast and wrapped themselves on the mechagodzilla's neck. Gigan screeched again and moved its other arm to use the second set of tendrils that wrapped around Shiryu's arm.

Once that was done, the alien titan snarled and flew up, pulling the mechagodzilla up from the ground and into the air. Akane did her best to try and take off the weird and creepy tendril things off from Shiryu's body, but Gigan didn't let her as they pulled their arms up before slamming Shiryu down. The impact almost knocked Akane out, making her ears ring as she tries her best to recover. Gigan landed near Shiryu before jumping and then slamming down on top of the mechagodzilla. The alien titan snarled as stomped its feet on Shiryu's face and chest several times, not letting them a chance to fight back. Suddenly, to worsen things, something burst from the ground beside Gigan and pounced on the mechagodzilla, and Akane realized that it was the same beetle titan that was with Gigan. The beetle titan screeched and began to use its drill pincers to jab at Shiryu, dealing severe superficial damage to the hide. The alarms began to blare around the cockpit as they warned of structural integrity being damaged by the two titans. Akane frantically tried to either push or slash at them, but the alien titan and the beetle titan didn't let Shirty move a single bit. Then Gigan raised up its pincer sword in the air, ready to give the final slash at Shiryu.

Which made Akane gasp, close her eyes...and brace for the blow that would end both her and the mechagodzilla.
