Before I get in to my account of what happened, I'd first like to clear up a few things about myself. After everything that happened, rumors started to float around, most of which are not true. I'm not sure if any of this information will be relevant to your research, but I will include it just in case.

I was born, a tiny baby boy to Raymond and Mary Lane, both of which are now deceased, and, yes, I was indeed born in Texas, and to this day can not drop the stupid accent.

People always assume that, since I was born in Texas, I must have been one of the few raid survivors, but they always forget that the raids only hit southern Texas, below where I was born and raised.

Anyway, my childhood was rather unremarkable. I worked on my parents farm most of the time, and because of it, i never really had many friends.

Looking back at it now, I would have never guessed a kid like me, from the middle of nowhere in a family of nobodies, to one day he wrapped up in something so big like this incident. Fate is a funny thing, isn't it?

Anyway, the first few years of my life were calm and happy. Then, I would have been five at the time, the war hit.

I remember that day clearly, actually. It was my first day of preschool, and I had been so excited to go and meet all the other kids and finally make some friends, but by the end of the day I had probably been made fun of for every single thing on and about my person. To say the least, I was heartbroken. This was only made worse when my parents didn't come to pick me up at the end of the day. I waited around for a good long hour, since it wasn't like I could walk home, my parents farm was quite a ways  away from the school, and way to far for a five year old to walk by him self.

In the end, one of the teachers ended up driving me home.

I remember hearing on the radio, something about a national crisis, and the teacher seeming pretty worried, but I had been too young to understand what it meant, and too young to understand why my parents were glued to the TV when I got home.

The date was August fifteenth.
