Jungkook's Pov:

I can't seem to shake what she told me a week ago.  "Midnight's the time when all the wandering heartbroken come out."  What is she heartbroken about? And why do I care so much? "Earth to Jungkookie~" Hoseok snapped me out of my thoughts "Sorry, hyung. I was just thinking." Namjoon frowns. "Is everything alright, Kook?" I nod and smile reassuringly. "I just can't get Sungjoon out of my head. I don't even know why I care so much anyways. I mean I just met her and she's already the only thing clouding my mind." I sigh. I know nothing about her, I need to chill out a bit.

Jimin snorts and hits me in the back of the head, jokingly. "There's an easy fix you dipshit." I frown and look up at him, confusion clear on my face. "What do you suggest I do, Jimin?" He rolls his eyes. "Get to know her, Kook!" I look down and blush. "It's not that easy. She doesn't seem like the kind of person who wants people snooping into her life." Jimin shrugs and Jin puts his hand on my shoulder. "Jungkook," he says sternly, "If she's really making you go up the walls with curiosity, it wouldn't hurt to try. Even if it is just to ease your mind." I nod, taking everyone's words into consideration.

Namjoon checks his phone and stands up. "You'll have time to do that all later. We've got to get going to school.

Sungjoon's Pov:

Yesterday when I went into first period English, I didn't realize that Namjoon was in that class as well. He is sitting towards the back by himself and since he's the only one I'm remotely comfortable with I go up to him. "Uh, could sit next to you?" I say, pointing to the empty seat next to him. He smiles at me warmly and nods. "Of course." I sit down next to him, setting my stuff down and sit in the peaceful quietness, at least until Namjoon decides to slice through it.

"Jungkook is really curious about you." My eyes go wide and I look at him like he has three heads. "W-Why?" He chuckles and shrugs. "Do you not want him to be?" I shake my head no quickly. "I don't do well with friends," I whisper. He looks at me sympathetically and shrugs. "Not many people intrigue him, but when someone makes his curiosity peak, there's no stopping him from becoming close to that person." I frown and look at him. "How do you know?"

He chuckles and again. "That's what happened with the rest of us."

-

There's no stopping him from becoming close to that person. That line scares me. I've only ever let two people in. My ex-friend and my ex-boyfriend. My ex-boyfriend used me to get to my ex-friend and she used me to get to him. Since then, I never let anyone else in. It was just my mom and me. My thoughts get cut short by the bell, sending us all to lunch. I skip the cafeteria and head straight outside, sitting on a little bench in the courtyard.

I close my eyes, enjoying the peaceful silence until I hear shuffling and feel the presence of someone next to me. I open my eyes and sigh, turning to see who sat next to me. When I see Jungkook, I jump a little and curse. "Aish, Jungkook, you frightened me. I wasn't expecting to see you." He continues to stare at me, unfazed, with curiosity evident in his eyes. I gulp.

"Namjoon told me you were curious. So, might as well get this over with. Don't expect me to be descriptive." He cracks a smile at this and I can't help, but smile slightly back. "Where do I start?" he sighs. I roll my eyes and smile at my feet. "Depends, what do you want to know?"

"What do you mean by a wandering heartbroken and why are you one of them?" For a second I can't breathe and my eyes widen, but I regain my composure and shrug. "A wandering heartbroken is someone who walks around broken and sad, but doesn't dare show it." He nods looks at me, anticipatingly. He wants me to answer the second part of the question. "As for the other question, there's too many answers." I look at my feet, trying to avoid eye contact as much as possible. "Why do you care anyways? We're complete opposites." I mumble, quietly. He still manages to hear me and frowns. "What do you mean?" I scoff and look up at him.

"You're popular, I'm a nobody. You're rich, I'm poor. You're cute, and I'm, well, whatever this is." He stares at me for a second and then sighs, shaking his head. "Sure, I may be more known. You're assuming things calling me rich. And, did you just call me cute?" He smirks at the growing tint of pink on my cheeks.

"W-Whatever. What else do you wanna know?" He chuckles and shrugs. "Tell me a few reasons why you're considered a wandering heartbroken." I sigh, shaking my head softly. "I don't know you well enough to talk about this with you." He chuckles. "Let's change that then. Are you free after school?" I look at him with a blank face, but inside I'm panicking. I wreck my brain looking for an excuse not to hang out with him. "Uh, I have work tonight, I can't." It's a lie. Someone else works my shift tonight. "Then I'll have to stop by." I start to panic again, but before I can say anything else, the bell rings. "I'll see you later, Sungjoon." Great. What am I supposed to do now?

Jungkook's Pov:

I walk into the restaurant she works at, hoping that maybe she can get off early. A waitress named Bora stops me and asks if there's anything she can do to help me. "I'm looking for a girl named Sungjoon." She frowns and shakes her head. "I'm sorry, she doesn't work today. My apologies." I chuckle. Of course, she lied. I'm not ready to give up just yet, though. "Do you happen to know where she might be?" She thinks for a moment. Her face lights up and she gasps. "She usually hangs out around the park near here!" I smile and bow. "Thank you."

I look around the park for about ten minutes, but I don't see her. I'm about to give up when I see a small circle of trees. I reach a little opening and I see her. She's sitting down on the ground, leaning against one of the trees with headphones on and her eyes closed. I carefully sit next to her, taking a moment just to enjoy how peaceful she looks.

When I realize what I'm here for again, I poke her, causing her to jump. "You lied to me." Her eyes widen for a second, but then she gives me a poker face and shrugs. "Why did you lie?" She sighs. "I don't want to become close to you, Jungkook." I'm about to question her, but she goes on. "I don't let people in for a reason. People have taken advantage of me and I'm not putting myself through that again." I frown, taking everything she just said in, but it only makes me curious. Who took advantage of her? What did they do to make her so closed off? "You haven't even given me a chance. How many people did you let in before closing yourself off like this?"

Sungjoon's Pov:

I don't enjoy his questioning. It takes me a second to answer because I'm trying not to cry. "Two," I mumble. He touches my arm, causing electricity to bloom. "Will you give me a chance? If I end up hurting you then you don't have to look at me ever again, but if I don't, you'll open up to me? Deal?" I sit quietly for a moment, thinking about his offer and the pros and cons of it all. Finally, I come to the conclusion of what else do I have to lose? "Sure. What else do I have to lose?"
