Marinette POV:

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"Oh god just shut up already!" Marinette groaned as she aggressively slapped her phone on Tuesday morning.

The students of College Francoise Dupont had been blessed with a day off on Monday, which had caused her to forget the struggle of waking up in the morning.

She had spent her day off at Alya's house. Alya had already been told the details of the double date, but the rest of the girls hadn't.

Once Marinette had filled them in, they had spent the rest of the time playing video games and goofing off, until they met up with the boys for ice cream.

Now Marinette was faced with the struggle of being a functional human being in the morning, and she was not doing well.

She didn't know how she got herself to school on time, but she did, eventually.

When Marinette had finally reached her school she was out of breath. She raced through the doors and looked up at the clock to see that the bell would ring in a minute.

Groaning, she quickly raced down the corridor to her class.

Marinette had just made it through the door, sliding into her seat beside Lila as the shrill sound of the bell echoed through the class.

She panted widely, out of breath from her mad rush to be on time for once.

"You good girl?" Alya asked laughing as she ran past her

Marinette, now sat down in her seat, raised her head grudgingly from the wooden desk and realized a stranger was writing notes on the board.

The class had a substitute today. On the board in bold writing was her name, Ms. Ralston.

She could tell the class was sizing her up, and Marinette followed suit. Judging by her clothes she was wealthy, and she looked fairly young.

Marinette was brought out of her thoughts by Lila tapping her on the shoulder.

"Hey Marinette, I hope you have a great day today." Lila said sinsterly, her tone implying that she meant quite the opposite.

Marinette narrowed her eyes at Lila, but before she could say something the sub began talking.

"So class today we are going to be analysing short stories..."

Marinette didn't bother to listen to what she was saying, instead choosing to focus on Lila's threat.

What could she mean? What was she going to do? With Lila she never knew.

The rest of the class went by far too fast for Marinette's likings. She was too preoccupied with worry to focus on the lesson. Oh well, she'd just have to ask Alya later.

As she was getting up to leave, she tripped over her bag, causing the contents to spill all over the floor.

"Why am I so clumsy," Marinette mumbled under her breath in annoyance, leaning down to collect her supplies.

As Marinette gathered her stuff, she felt a cold pair of eyes on her. She looked up to see Lila's manipulative glare.

Great, just great. She thought to herself. She slowly got to her feet.

"Listen, I thought I told you to back off Adrien. you just don't ever listen do you. Lila said. Walking menacingly towards her

"I-i don't know what you're talking about Lila. I haven't done anything with Adrien."

Lila laughed cruelly, "Then how come Alya told me YOU went on a date on Saturday. And guess who else was on a date on Saturday, ADRIEN!" Lila yelled.

"Do you think I'm stupid enough to believe that this was just a condience." Lila said mockingly.

"So you're going to tell me the truth or else."

At this point Marinette was backed up against the wall. "I didn't go on a date with Adrien, I swear!"

"Oh really, because I thought you actually had some common sense. What I've done before is child's play compared to what your life is going to be like now. You better start making your will Marinette Dupain-Cheng" Lila sneered at the dark haired girl.

"But I didn't go on a date with him! Plus, it's not like he's your property or something, he's.." but Marinette trailed off at the last part. She couldn't tell Lila that he was dating Kagami. She didn't want Kagami to have to deal with Lila too. It was a miracle Lila didn't know already.

Lila glared at her with the utmost hatred. "You talk a lot about hating liars when you are one yourself." she remarked.

Lila looked as though she was going to say something more, but stopped when she heard the substitute teacher enter the room.

Marinette was thankful, finally an adult that could rescue her from Lila's wrath! And there was no way Lila could get out of this, with the position they were currently in.

But all of Marinette's hopes were crushed when the substitute did nothing but send a slightly disapproving glance at Lila, before grabbing something off the desk and leaving again.

"Just you wait, you'll get what's coming for you" Lila whispered in Marinette's ear, before sauntering out of the classroom.

Adrien POV:

Adrien walked out of the school with Nino as he smiled as the bright sun that shone up above in the clear blue sky. The day had passed by relatively quickly for Adrien. It hadn't been anything out of the ordinary, apart from the substitute teacher.

Although he wasn't sure where Marinette had gone off to at lunch...

She was probably just catching up on homework or doing something with Luka. Her boyfriend Luka.

He waved goodbye to Nino, before wandering off to find Chloe. It was tradition that they went shopping every other week, and today was that day.

Even though Chloe had changed, they had been friends since they were little. Him and Chloe had been through some hard times together, and they shared a strong bond.

She was like a sister to him.

"Adrikins! Are you ready to get your shop on!" Chloe said, enthusiastically pulling him into a hug.

"You bet Chlo" he said, before she pulled him into her limo.

"To the mall!" She ordered the driver.

Once they arrived at the mall they had gone to all of Chloe's favorite stores, and she had tried on countless outfits.

She asked him every time how she looked and his reply was always the same: "you look great Chole." And she responded, smiling brightly and flipping her hair: "I know I do Adrikins!l

Now they were happily sitting at the coffee store, with countless bags filled to the brim with clothes and whatnot.

"So what's new with you Adrikins?" Chloe asked.

"Nothing you don't already know about. " he chuckled, bringing the warm coffee up to his lips.

"I'm not sure I like your girlfriend very much." Chloe bluntly stated, crossing her arms against her chest in defiance.

"That's not very nice Chloe" he said, expecting that this topic would come up.

"It's just that she doesn't seem to like me very much! And I'm your oldest friend! And she seems possessive if you ask me!" Chloe ranted.

"Chloe this is my girlfriend you're talking about. And what makes you think she dislikes you?" He told his childhood friend.

"Well when we were at that premiere ages ago, for the Ladybug movie, she gave me the most awful look and I can't understand why!" she complained. "It was utterly ridiculous!"

"Chloe, I'm sure you're reading too much into this. Kagami can seem...intense at first, but once you get to know her you'll see that she really is an amazing person. I don't think that she dislikes you, she just doesn't know you yet." he said trying to reason with her.

He knew that deep down Chloe was insecure, and sometimes she read too much into the situation. Chloe could be cruel sometimes, but he knew she only did it for attention.

Chloe could be pretty terrible, but deep down she really just wanted her mom to pay attention to her. It had been a huge blow to her when Audrey had left her and her father.

"Adrikins! Are you even listening to me!" Chloe demanded.

"Yeah yeah sorry, I'm listening." He hastily replied.

"Anyway like I was saying, do you think Ms. Tsurugi is faking blindness?" Chloe asked. "Because I am certain she is."

The sweet warm coffee in his mouth threatened to spill out as he tried to hold in his laughter. He grasped a napkin quickly wiping some of spilled coffee that escaped his mouth and onto his chin and coughed trying to regain his composure, "Of course not Chole," he finally replied

"That's exactly what I said when I saw it in the magazine. Why would anyone fake being blind, have you seen those horrible glasses! The idea that anyone would want to wear them is ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!" Chloe cried.

Adrien laughed. They lost track of time, and before they knew it an employee was informing them that the mall was closing.

"Alright then, this has been great Chloe but we better go, it's getting late." he told the blond girl.

"Yeah alright, I'll call my driver to drive us home." Chloe told him.

"He's on his way this instant " Chloe said after she had finished her call.

"Alright" Adrien said smiling as he headed outside with Chole and offered her a seat next to him on a bench, while they waited for the driver to arrive.

They sat in silence for a minute, before Chloe spoke up.

"Adrikins?" she asked quietly. "Yeah Chloe, what is it?" He asked, his curiosity growing as he looked into her eyes.

"I'm not going to be replaced by Kagami, right?" she said softly. Adrien was taken back by her question. It wasn't often that Chloe let herself be vulnerable like this.

"Of course not! What makes you think that?" He asked, shocked that she thought she could be replaced.

"Well it's just she's got looks and money and overprotective parents and all. And I was just worried." she admitted, distress shining through her usually cruel eyes.

"You're irreplaceable Chloe. Just because she grew up like us doesn't mean she grew up with us. You're my oldest friend, and I could never replace you." he told her truthfully.

"Thanks Adrikins." she said, as her anxiety faded away with his words and she hugged him tightly.

The driver then arrived, and they got in. Adrien gazed out the window. It was refreshing to spend time with Chloe, as weird as that may sound, and his mind felt a lot clearer.

Once she waved him goodbye Adrien arrived home. He headed to bed exhausted, ready for a good night's rest, his mind empty of thoughts of Ladybug and his super hero life for the first time in a while.
