Marinette POV:

"How about this one?" Alya said suggestively holding up a red bikini, raising her eyebrows mischievously.

"I'm not sure Alya... it shows a lot of skin" Marinette hesitantly told her enthusiastic friend.

You would think running around in a skin tight suit would make her feel less self conscious, but her mind had other ideas.

"Mari stop being modest! Your body is hot girl! Own it!" said Alya laughing. "Plus maybe you'll get some attention from the boys," she added, eyebrows wiggling once more.

"Maybe one certain boy..." Alya said sneakily.

"Alya! You know I have a boyfriend." she giggled. She loved her best friend, but she did not want to get on the topic of boys.

"I'm just saying!" Alya giggled cheekily.

"Enough about me. What are you going to wear?" Marinette questioned.

"Ohhh gurl I love this one!" Alya said pulling out a rack with a cute orange bikini with ruffles and a sweetheart neckline.

"Nino's gonna freak when he sees you in that!" Marinette laughed

"I know right! He's gonna faint when he sees me." Alya said humorously, flipping her hair in a dramatic flare.

Marinette and Alya couldn't help bursting into laughter at that.

"Hey Mari, come over here I think this one might work for you" Alya said, gesturing her over to a shelf.

Marinette walked over and looked at that red bikini that was covered in white polka dots.

It was cute... but a bit too similar to Ladybug's suit. She needed to protect her identity, plus it wasn't quite her style.

"I was thinking something pink" she told her eager best friend, who then dragged her by the arm to another shelf filled with bathing suits.

"What about this one?" Alya asked gleefully holding up a small neon pink bikini.

"No freaking way Alya Cesaire!" Marinette said, shaking her head and laughing.

Marinette then proceeded to say no to countless swimsuits. None of them were quite her style. Maybe she was being a little critical, but none of them were quite the look she wanted.

"You're so picky Mari" Alya sighed dramatically.

"What about this one? I think you'll like this one." She said, holding up yet another swimsuit.

Marinette opened her mouth up to already say no, but then paused in awe.

"Does the great and all-mighty Marinette Dupain-Cheng determine this swimsuit worthy of her fashion greatness?" Alya jokes..

"Actually yes I do determine this swimsuit worthy of me, the queen of the universe!" Marinette joked back.

"Cocky now aren't we Dupain-Cheng" Alya laughed.

"Bow down to me peasant!" Marinette cried. "But actually yes I do like it." She told her best friend.

"Finally! Go try it on!" Alya said in exasperation,, before dragging her to a change room.

Marinette groaned but cooperated with her crazy best friend as she closed the dressing room door and quickly changed.

The swimsuit was a light rose pink bikini and it fit her perfectly.

It was simple, not too flashy but still cute. She smiled. But my skin she thought as a feeling of self-doubt began to creep in.

Don't be self-conscious Marinette, she confidently encouraged herself. You like this one, you look...good, yeah you look good.

She smiled in satisfaction changing back into her clothes and stepping out of the change room.

"Soooo.... Yay or nay?" Her best friend asked.

"Definitely a yes." she said.

"Yayyyyy!!!" Alya screamed loudly in excitement as suddenly everyone in the store peered at the two girls in horror.

Marinette flushed in embarrassment. While Alya shrugged her shoulders while laughing letting out an, "oops."

They quickly paid for their swimsuits and then left the mall.

"I can't wait for the field trip!" Alya said on the bus ride home."All the boys are going to be staring at us." Alya teases as she lightly nudged Mari.

Marinette laughed, her cheeks flushing.

"Are you blushing girl?" Alya asked as she reached up to poke her pink cheeks and Marinette jokingly swatted them away.

"N-no mpph...blushing me?" Marinette stuttered in her flustered state as Alya snorted.

"Sure sure girl."

"Back to the field trip..." Mari said trying to change the subject from her traitorous blushing cheeks. "Your right, they usually give us boring field trips to the museum or something." Marinette said.

They talked excitedly about the field trip until they got to Marinette's stop.

"See you later Alya!" Marinette called over her shoulder as she got off the bus, still giddy with excitement for the field trip.

Adrien POV:

Adrien was shocked that he was allowed to go on a field trip, let alone a fun one. Kagami was just as shocked that her mother allowed her to go.

He got to spend a whole day with his friends at the water park. It was going to be perfect.

He arrived at school wearing his swim shorts and his usual black t-shirt. He met up with Nino, Alya, and Kagami at the front of the school, where his class was excitedly waiting for the bus.

"I can't believe my dad is actually letting me do something fun for once!" Adrien exclaimed eagerly to his friends.

"Yeah that was really cool of him dude" Nino said.

"I was also surprised that my mother allowed me to partake in this field trip." Kagami said. Her tone didn't show it, but Adrien could tell that Kagami was thrilled.

Adrien smiled warmly down at Kagami, grasping his hand to hold in hers, but then he felt like something was missing. Looking around and realized that someone was still absent from their group of friends.

"Where's Marinette?" He asked Alya. "I dunno, probably still sleeping knowing her." She told the confused blond-haired boy. (ignorant oblivious idiot child.)

"Oh, well I hope she gets there soon, we wouldn't want her to miss the bus." Adrien said a hint of worry filling his voice.

At that moment, a disheveled pigtailed girl frantically ran at them, tripping over herself. "I'm not late! I'm not late! I'm here!" she huffed out racing toward the school.

Unfortunately, the girl wasn't looking where she was going, and tripped over her feet. She closed her eyes in fear ready to fall face first into the rock solid pavement.

Adrien, having quick reflexes, swiftly moved himself in front of Marinette and caught her waist before she fell on the pavement.

"Th-Thank you Adrien" She stammered, blushing furiously, as he gently steadied her back on her feet.

"No problem Marinette, I didn't want to see you splattered on the pavement like a bug." He said laughing.

"Like a bug, yeah haha I wouldn't know anything about being lad- about being a bug... a dead bug!" she nervously laughed.

Everyone laughed at Marinette's silliness, playfully teasing her as the bus rolled around the street and the substitute from yesterday ushered all of them into the bus.

"Alright everyone get on the bus. Only two to a seat, no funny business. And I'll know if you stand up during the ride. I'm always watching." The substitute firmly told the students plopping down in a seat near the front.

"Hey Nino, I'm going to go sit with Marinette; me and her we need to have a girl chat," Alya said grinning at Marinette.

"Girl chat? Abo-" but before Marinette could finish her sentence, she was being dragged by a laughing Alya to her seat.

"Hey Kagami, want to sit with me?" Adrien heard Lila ask from behind him.

"Is that okay with you Adrien?" Kagami asked.

"Yeah, I guess so just be careful because.." Adrien tried to warn Kagami of Lila's habits, but before he could Lila smiled and pulled Kagami onto the bus, a large smile plastered on her face.

"C'mon dude you can sit with me" Nino said, slinging his arm around Adrien.

The bus ride was spent chatting and listening to Nino's latest songs on soundcloud.

When the bus finally arrived Adrien excitedly got to his feet. It was his first time going to a waterpark since his mom had died.

When he got off the bus he noticed Kagami seemed less excited for the trip. He assumed it probably had something to do with how long the bus had taken, and how the teacher found a way to scold them every 15 minutes.

The boys and girls split up and changed into their swimsuits, before meeting up again for roll call.

Adrien and Nino quickly changed and walked out to meet the other students.

He couldn't help the bright smile that broke out across his face as Kagami walked out of the changing room. She confidently strided over to Adrien and Nino.

Kagami wore a bright red tankini as she reached out to hold Adrien's hand. He squeezed his hand in hers affectionately. "You look beautiful." he told her sweetly as she reached up to kiss his cheek in response.

Marinette stood bashfully beside Alya wearing a pink bikini. He gazed over at Marinette in admiration and found that he couldn't tear his eyes away from her.

He thought Marinette looked stunning and she had nothing to be ashamed of. The swimsuit perfectly fit her toned frame and he was surprised by the fact that Marinette had abs. He couldn't help admiring how she radiated strength and beauty.

He quickly looked away when he realised he was staring. He thought he saw Kagami's eyes narrow, but it was probably just a trick of the light.

It then hit him that he was at a waterpark with friends, and a big smile spread across his face. This was going to be the best day ever.

"Me and Nino are going to hangout, we'll meet up with you guys at lunch" Alya said before dragging her boyfriend away.

If there was anything suspicious of this action, Adrien didn't notice, instead choosing to grab both Marinette and Kagami's hands and drag them towards the nearest waterslide.

Marinette POV:

Marinette couldn't help the deep blush that spread across her cheeks as Adrien grasped her hand gently in his and excitedly pulled Kagami and her over to the water slides.

Marinette gawked over how good Adrien looked in his black swim trunks and couldn't help but admire how fit and toned his chest was.

She giggled at how excited Adrien was, and couldn't deny how adorable he looked. Adrien was like a kid in a candy store, and Marinette was falling even more for him.

"So much for getting over him," she thought to herself, though she couldn't find the strength to be mad at the way her heart fluttered when he smiled at her.

Adrien suddenly looked over his shoulder to see Marinette giggling and blushing like a fool as she turned her head away in embarrassment, not wanting him to see the deep blush that coated her cheeks.

When she found the courage in herself to look back in his direction, a caring smile stretched across his lips and his head was titled to the side in confusion.

"Marinette? Did you forget to put sunscreen on? Your face looks a little red?" Adrien asked her. "Nathalie made me pack some I can grab it for you." he said, and started to walk off to get the sunscreen. He's too cute, she thought dreamily.

"N-no sunscreen haha I don't need that! I mean I already put some on... wait no! I mean it's fine and you wouldn't want to lose your place in line" Marinette stammered, her face turning a shade of red that could rival her ladybug suit.

"Are you sure?" Adrien asked, looking rnedconce for his friend. "Yeah, we wouldn't want you getting burnt," Kagami added.

"I'm fine!" Marinette said, trying to hide behind her pigtails. The last thing she needed was Adrien and Kagami to realize the redness on her face had nothing to do with the sun.

On second thought, she might have come off too strong, as Adrien and Kagami seemed to have started a conversation on overprotective parents as they reached the line of a fun river raft ride .

She couldn't help but feeling left out, did they really have to pick the one topic she couldn't relate too?

She knew they weren't trying to exclude her, but it was hard not to feel like she had done something wrong.

The conversation continued, with Marinette trying to add things (while subtly changing the subject) but failing.

As the trio grew closer and closer to the start of the ride Marinette couldn't help but feel like a major third wheel.

Everytime she tried to join the conversation, she would be talked over and forgotten. She had given up. It felt hopeless trying to join in. They were together anyway and she was just tagging along. She stared glumly ahead, wishing she could disappear as the heat of the sun beat down on her and waves of people stood ahead of their spot in line.

"Hey Marinette are you alright? You got quiet all of the sudden." Adrien asked, putting his hand on her shoulder.

"I'm fine, just tired of this line haha!" Marinette said, faking a huge smile while trying desperately to ignore the feeling of warmth that blossomed inside her as his hand rested on her shoulder and fighting the inevitable blush.

"Well you are in luck, since it's our turn to go!" Kagami said, smiling.

Adrien's expression changed from one of concern to one of a cat with a new ball of yarn. He excitedly pulled them to the ride and they all jumped onto a raft together.

The raft ride was fun, with Adrien excitedly screaming, Kagami holding on for dear life and Marinette throwing her hands in the air all the way down.

Adrien and Marinette couldn't help the wide smiles that broke across their faces as they laughed about how thrilling the ride was. While Kagami clung onto dear life to the side of the raft until Adrien helped her out.

"That was awesome!" Adrien cried once they got off the slide.

"Yeah it was so much fun, but not scary enough!" Marinette cried excitedly.

"Not scary enough! That was terrifying!" Kagami exclaimed.

"Let's do something scarier!" Marinette cried, her negative thoughts from before replaced by the excitement that comes from being at a waterpark.

"Yeah!" Adrien enthusiastically agreed as he followed behind her, Kagami clutching tightly to his side.

She then ran off to the next ride, splash mountain. The ride was gigantic and had features that it splashed through such as caves and swamps before plunging down a steep slide.

"Are you sure you're okay to do another one Kagami," Adrien asked in concern as they waited in line to go on the ride.

"It's fine Adrien," Kagami said, smiling. "I've never been on any of the scary rides before, that's all. My Mother says they're too dangerous."

"Thank you Kagami, you don't know how much this means to me. You're the best girlfriend ever!" Adrien said excitedly.

Marinette felt a prickle in her heart watching how truly happy Kagami and Adrien were, before quickly brushing it off. This is silly Marinette thought to herself, I'm being selfish, this isn't about me.

The rest of the line passed with the three of them talking about various things.

When they got to the beginning of the line Marinette and Adrien had a very intense staring contest on who would sit in the front, in which Marinette won. Marinette smirked and climbed in the front, and Adrien, pouting, got in behind her, and Kagami followed suit.

The ride was amazing, with lots of screams of excitement from the two daredevils and screams of terror from Kagami.

At the end of the ride, they were all soaked, although Kagami was less wet than the others, having used Adrien as a shield.

By the time the ride had finished it was time for them to head back for lunch. They had all brought money to buy lunch, and so they headed to the grassing clearing where their stuff was located to grab their wallets.

Once they had arrived at the spot, Kagami and Adrien grabbed their wallets while Marinette
frantically looked around for hers.

"I know it's in here somewhere!" she said as she frantically looked around for her change purse.

"Tikki, have you seen it?" She whispered to the red kwami who was safely tucked away in her school bag. "I think you might have left it at home," Tikki told her.

Marinette's stomach rumbled in hunger. Great, just great. The only food she had on her was cookies for Tikki, and she couldn't eat those, what if she had to transform!

"Is something wrong Marinette?" Kagami asked, hearing Marinette's distressed voice.

"Something's wrong?" Adrien asked, pulling his face out of his bag, seemingly finding what he was looking for.

"Oh nothing I just can't find my wallet. I'll be fine. Don't worry about me, you two get food without me." Marinette said.

"But... what will you eat?" Adrien asked, his face a mixture of confusion and concern

"I... um had a big breakfast, I'll be fine" she said unconvincingly.

"I'm not even that hungry," Marinette said, trying to assure Adrien, but her stomach betrayed her as it rumbled in protest.

"You can have some of my money, I don't mind," Adrien offered.

"No! It-it's fine, really, I'll live." Marinette said, denying his offer.

"It's important to eat Marinette." Kagami said matter of factly.

Adrien looked as though he was going to protest some more, but instead he smiled.

"Okay then Marinette. If you insist." Adrien said, the suspicious smile remaining.

"O-okay?" Marinette said, confused by her successful attempt of convincing them she wasn't dying of hunger.

They three of them walked towards the food line, which thankfully wasn't too long yet.

Once they arrived at the front of the line, Kagami ordered a meal.

Adrien then stepped up, and before Marinette could stop him ordered two meals. One for him, one for the protesting girl beside him.

Kagami then did something very unlike her usual self, she burst out laughing.

"Marinette, you, you should see your face." Kagami said between fits of laughter.

"You stupid cat!" Marinette screamed at Adrien as he laughed cheekily at her, before realizing what she had blurted out.

"Because um... cat's are always misbehaving haha yeah and i'm babysitting my um...aunt's cat yeah...always getting in trouble...that rascal he hehe" Marinette stammered, hastily trying to come up with an excuse.

If she hadn't been so preoccupied with covering her mistake, she probably would have noticed how Adrien hadn't been confused by the remark at first, but then who's face had paled immediately after realizing his surroundings.

"I mean um thanks for the food I guess," Marinette mumbled.

"Yeah right um yeah." Adrien replied still in a daze as he handed her a tray of food.

They numbly walked back to the field with a very confused Kagami. Before they were stopped in their tracks by an unfriendly looking Akuma.
