The next day, Rebecca still felt weird. Nothing like what had happened yesterday had ever happened to her before. When Tom had touched her hand she had felt chills all over. It had felt like someone had suddenly switched on the air conditioner and it was blasting out cold air with full force. She didn't know if this was really right. She knew that she had only touched his hand but it seemed like much more than that. What if someone had been watching?

     Gabriella had told the prank group all about what had happened in the library. They all agreed that Rebecca and Tom would be the perfect targets for a prank. Tom's best friend, Daniel was a part of the prank group and he had an important role to play in their plan.

     During the lunch break, Daniel tried to get Tom to apologise to Rebecca after Tom had told him about the incident.

"Let her know you didn't mean anything by it" he advised. Tom had shook his head in response. He has been thinking about doing the same thing but would it really matter. Their hands had only touched. What was the big deal?

"Well, Rebecca is a good girl and I'm sure she sees it as something big. You better apologise before she reports you to a teacher" Daniel said

"Okay" Tom said as he made his way over to her table. It's not like he had anything to loose anyway.

     Rebecca was studying as usual and didn't notice Tom until he said her name.

"Um, hi" she said tentatively

"I'm really sorry about what happened in the library. I really hope you can forgive me and we could still be friends" He said.
Rebecca was a bit surprised. She thought he had felt awkward and didn't want to speak with her anymore. But he had actually felt bad...

"You have nothing to feel sorry about" She said. "After all, if I didn't like what was going on I should have said something. Our hands just touched... For a while. It's not like we kissed or anything" She said. It had been the right thing to say. She couldn't be little miss Priss for ever.

Tom gave a sigh of relief "Thanks, it cool to see that we're on the same page... Friend"  He said with a wink. Rebecca smiled back at him and then realized something. There was still someone else she needed to forgive.

     It was closing time. Rebecca was ready to go. Hannah wanted to walk to the school entrance with her but Rebecca told her to go ahead. She needs to do this now. Janet on the other hand had made new friends in her art class. She rarely ever talked to Rebecca but they were still on friendly terms.

     Gabriella was putting her books into her bag when Rebecca approached her. Gabriella was wandering what she could want. Rebecca knowing how curious she might be began to explain.

"I'm sorry I didn't forgive you when you apologized. It was just really hard to defend myself when everyone was accusing me of what I didn't do. I hope you can forgive me" Rebecca said.

Gabriella suddenly felt really bad. She had already told the prank group about what had happened in the library. What was she going to do now? Especially with the execution of their prank already underway.

"It's... it's okay" She managed to say. Rebecca have her a hug.

"Great! See you tomorrow" She said running off to see if she could still catch up with Hannah.

     That same day, Gabriella told the prank group she could no longer help them. They were sitting down on the school field talking about something.

"But why?" Betty had asked.

Gabriella didn't want them to know that she had made up with Rebecca. They would see her as a threat if she did.

"I just really need to focus on my studies" She said hoping they wouldn't see through the lie.

"Okay, suit yourself" Sarah Said.

Sarah could easily be picked out as the dullest member of the group. She was fair in complexion but not as fair as Rebecca. She had black low cut hair, was really tall and slim.

She wasn't a very serious person and you could tell just by having one conversation with her, how lazy she was.

Gabriella felt like a horrible person. If only she could save Rebecca from their prank.
