Rebecca knew she had had enough of the prank group. With all their sick jokes and stupid games, they thought that they could deal with anyone. But that wasn't the only reason she was doing this. She wanted to prove herself to Tom. He didn't have to be the one to handle everything. She stormed into the class with these thoughts on her mind.
She met the prank group playing a game of jackpot at the back of the class.

"You guys need to stop messing around with people" she said.

"Messing around with who?" Daniel asked passing someone a card"

"I know about the sick prank you guys were planning to play in Tom and me. It's like you guys have nothing better to do with your lives" Rebecca snapped.

"Oh my God, we are so scared, she wants us to leave her alone, what will she do if we don't?" Betty said sarcastically.

Suddenly, Sarah walks into the class beaming like she's won a lottery. She's closely followed by Tom who avoids making eye contact with Rebecca.

"Tell your friends to back off or else" Rebecca said to Sarah.

"Or else what?" Sarah asked.

"You're so daft that it's sad. Don't worry, I'll give you some time to remember" Rebecca said. Sarah's eyes widened but she wasn't ready to make herself look weak in front of Rebecca.

"Tell them" she said foolishly "You will be the one the receiving end"

"Tom never kissed me" Rebecca said "He deceived Sarah into thinking you were going to kick her out and she believed him without a lot of effort. In exchange for more information she agreed to lie to you guys" Rebecca explained.

"Its- It's not true" Sarah murmured.

"Tom can confirm it" Rebecca said and Tom nodded reluctantly.

"I-I..." Daniel cut her off before she could continue.

"Just go" He said "I'll talk to you later"

"But... But"

"He said go!" A voice shouted. Seated in the middle of a group of friends was Mabel. She has probably been listening to the whole fight. A smirk was fixed on her face. Mabel wasn't a part of the prank group.

Sarah turned around and walked out of the class. Rebecca couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for Sarah. But she did deserve it.
When everyone has gone back to what they were doing and Rebecca had returned to her seat. Tom walked up to Daniel.

"Guy we need to talk" he said. Daniel tapped someone who was passing by. It was a girl. He winked at her.

"Can you fill in for me?" He asked her waving his cards around. The girl nodded and he got up so that she could take his seat.

"Thanks" he said before walking out. The girl waved.

When they were out of the class. Tom studied Daniel's expression before he spoke.

"There's been a lot of tension since the truth or dare game..."

"You lied to me"

"Because I couldn't do such a dare. You know how much Rebecaa loathes things like that"

"Then why did you choose dare?"

"My pride. It was also my pride that kept me from saying no when I heard the dare. But that's not what I'm here to talk about..."

"Typical Tom. I knew you wouldn't be able to say no to a dare. That's why I came up with the plan"

"And you're angry with me for lying. You can see that you are not serious"

"I was only encouraging you to take a bold step. You know what I'm talking about. You're my friend. I wouldn't have asked you to do it if I knew.."

"Forget it. Nothing serious happened. I just wanted to ask you if my secret was still safe"

"As long as you keep my secret, I'll keep yours"

"Ah, good. It's nice to know that you're not as stupid as Sarah"

Daniel laughed.

"Sorry I caused you so much trouble. I felt a bit bad about Rebecca when you told me that she was crying in the library . It was funny that she overreacted like that but I'm not heartless like Mabel and Sarah"

Tom smiled

"But seriously guy be a man. If you wait too long..."

"Look at who is talking. The day that you become a man is the day that Femi will become gay"

They both laughed.

"So we are good" Daniel asked looking at Tom tentatively.

"Yeah, I forgive you" Tom said.

They walked back to the class talking about football and their favourite teams. Little did they know that Rebecca had been eavesdropping on their conversation and now she was curious about this "secret" Tom seemed to have.
