Sonnet 102: Fair Youth
(Faults 13)

Oh, how I waver to and fro between
Uplifting truths and sweet seductive lies!
I almost want to cause another scene,
If only to avert those curious eyes
With subtle traces of my judgement in them!
For in such eyes of innocence, I know
My words of explanation cannot win them,
Nor share with them my circumstance of woe.
This ruined prince is poorer than the poor
And lower than the lowest born of man
And woman, cheaper than the cheapest whore
And morally the black sheep of my clan!
So why not end it all and die a rat?
Alas, I'm much too soft for even that!

(To be continued...)

A/N: And here's the last installment for the day... That doesn't mean that it's the last of this sequence... There will definitely be more to come... Oh, and if you haven't noticed, the mood of this particular sequence goes back and forth from uplifting to whiny... Hehehe... Anyway, there will be more soon, I promise... ( ^_^ )
