Sonnet 109: Fair Youth
(Faults 20)

When every hateful sting of shame dissolves
Into the bleak enclosure of despair,
My shattered world of infamy revolves
Around each ling'ring eye and abject stare
Of those who share my state of abject pain;
Let those, whose sympathies provide a calm
Within the storms of my unending train
Of self-despising, read for me a psalm
To ease the shame, for I would do the same
For anyone who shares the kindred scene;
But when alone, I have to face my shame
With all the strength and majesty of mien
      Princes, even a ruined prince like me,
      Must carry on their shoulders as they flee.

(To be continued...)

A/N: Another installment? you say... Has the poet gone insane? ( O_O ) My answer: Not yet... ( ^_^ )
