Sonnet 108: Fair Youth
(Faults 19)

Such thoughts direct me to the only man
Whose understanding eyes scorn not the sinner,
Who stood alone and silent rather than
Condemning me like other men. What inner
Merit redeems me of your lawful jeers?
What kind of virtue did you see in me
When I took up my stand amongst my peers?
Indeed, when all the other men agree
That I am rightfully condemned, what clears
Me of the public scorn of better men?
Compassion's bitter-sweet, bringing me tears
That overflow my heart with shame; but when
I think of you this way, my faithful friend,
My hopes renew, and all my sorrows end.

A/N: And here's yet another installment to my massive collection... But wait, there's more... ( O_O )
