Sonnet 51: Fair Youth
(To the Reader 2)

What good is living out these bastard lies
Under the cloud of gossip's many tongues?
Though night may have a thousand ears and eyes,
They cannot tell the truth from lying songs,
Nor can they pierce the veil without distorting
What once began in love that ends in sin;
Though you may trust these rumors in reporting
The deeds that I've participated in,
They only want to see in black and white
The starkest contrast 'twixt the good and bad;
But just as there are countless shades of night,
I'll count the shades of gray that love can add:
      For love has many shades of changing pallor
      Impassioned with the heat of living color.

(To be continued...)

A/N: Here's the 2nd sonnet for today... Sorry for the delay... I couldn't load anything else last night... Anyway, expect one more coming up... ( ^_^ )
