Sonnet 53: Fair Youth
(Guilt 2)

The faults I share, I share with God alone;
The guilt I bear, I grant to none but one;
This bastard shame, my parents both shall own;
But these confessions, penned for everyone,
Shall glean the very depths of all my thoughts,
Perhaps shed light upon my heart of hearts
Where passions lie ensnared in guilty knots,
Perhaps (while on this cross) reveal the smarts.
Alas! How can this bastard shame, whose blade
Of guilt and ruin runs this deep, come from
The gentle kiss and touch of such a maid?
How can I fall for her, be struck so dumb?
      It seems the fortress of my will was built
      Upon foundations made of sin and guilt.

(To be continued...)

A/N: Here's a sonnet that's been waiting in the wing for a LONG time... Forgot I wrote it till I looked over my sonnets... I have over a hundred sonnets that haven't been posted yet, but I'm still working on the Fair Youth sonnets, so it'll take some time to get there... Anyway, that's it for now... See you next time... ( ^_^ )
