This takes place in the universe of the wholesome rp, but in the year the current rp is if that makes sense

Arosa was perched in a tree, near Fayleen's backyard. He had chosen one that he could see the entire yard from, and he was trying to stay hidden.

And luckily, the person he was watching in fact could not see him. Claira was in the backyard, practicing her flute as usual. She did it every single day at the same time, unless it was raining. Arosa had no doubt that if he asked, Claria would let him actually sit in the backyard while she practiced. After all, she'd done it before.

But, recently, Arosa had started...Seeing Claira a bit differently. He'd always liked her, after all they'd been best friends since they were kids. Every party, festival, anything...They were always together. Even when Claria was going through her mean streak, she was still always with Arosa. They liked each other, obviously but...

The way Arosa was feeling now seemed totally different to him. Looking at Claira made his heart beat faster and his face was hot whenever she got her own too close. The bird felt self-conscious, in a way no one else ever made him feel. Claira was beautiful, and Arosa was acutely aware of this fact.

He was far too focused on watching her now, so focused in fact that he didn't notice the tree under him moving until a branch had wrapped around his waist. Arosa hardly had time to let out a surprised yelp before he was quickly lowered to the ground, soon face to face with the stupid grin of his father.

Silvanus let out a hum, "You know, you can just go talk to her. This is the fifth day in a row you've just come out here to stare at her."

Arosa was flustered, trying to cover that up with a huff. "I know I can talk to her! But..." He was slowly set on the ground, the branches letting go of him and returning to their original state.

"But you'd rather just stare at her for a few hours and avoid her?" Silvanus shook his head, letting out a small hum. "Come on Ro, she's your best friend...You can talk to her when you're ready, but for now, you can just spend time with her like you always have."

Arosa nodded shyly. He was sure that Silvanus had already picked up exactly how he felt about Claira. Even though Arosa wasn't quite ready to admit it to himself just yet. He started heading towards the backyard, Silvanus watching him go.

As he entered the space, Claira stopped playing her flute. She looked at the other, smiling. "Where have you been? Its been five days you know. Bit long to just be away, isn't it?" She asked, shaking her head. "Can't believe you made me wait for you so long, get over here. I'm practicing a new song, I want your opinion."

Arosa nodded, cracking a smile as he walked over, seating himself in front of Claira on the ground. "Sorry, I won't leave like that again." He hummed.

"Better not." Claira replied, humming as she started to play.

Arosa nodded, listening and relaxing. Just being around Claira was enough, for now at least.
