Harry Potter

Could you do a platonic one of Movie!Harry and Movie!Petunia set during the first movie. Ever since the night Harry learned he was a wizard, Petunia has been acting different around him. She isn't treating him bad but she also isn't speaking to him. The night before Harry goes to Hogwarts, he is awaken by Petunia who tells him to come to the living room. He does and the two sit on the couch together. Petunia lights herself a cigarette and starts to smoke before speaking to Harry. She tells him more about his parents and she apologizes to him for how she has treated him and wants to be a better person and aunt. The two talk for a bit before Petunia puts out her cigarette and Harry thanks her for telling him everything and apologizing.

Harry runs through the stone wall leaving Platform 9 3/4. Despite it having been his first year at Hogwarts, he felt as though it was the best he'll ever have. It was, dare he say, magical. Before coming to Hogwarts, he thought he would never have any friends and that he would always be the outcast. But here in the Wizarding World none of that was true. He had two amazing friends: Ron and Hermione, and his name was known to almost every witch and wizard.

He hated to leave, especially back to the place he is forced to call home, but it's the way the world works. In one world he feels like a star, and in the other he feels like an annoyance to everyone around him. It makes him wonder what it would be like to have two loving parents. Seeing his parents in the Mirror of Erised felt unreal. He just wished he knew them.

"Bye Harry! Have an amazing summer!" Hermione says as she hugs Harry tightly. "You too Hermione." She smiles at him, then he turns to Ron. "We'll write you letters! Won't we Hermione?" The bushy haired witch nods. "Of course." Ron and Hermione look behind Harry and frown. "Harry, someones looking at you." Harry turns around to find his Aunt Petunia staring at him, her lips pulled tight as they always are.

"Oh, that's just my Aunt Petunia." Ron's eyes widened. "Blimey, just by looking at her I can tell she's wicked." Harry nods and turns to his two friends. Their corresponding families walk up to them telling them it's time to go. "See you next year Harry!" Hermione says as she walks away with her parents. Ron glances at Petunia one last time. "Good luck mate." Ron runs off with his family and Harry sighs as he walks up to his aunt.

"Hello Aunt Petunia." The woman's upper lip twitches and Harry sees something unfamiliar in her eyes. Not the usual look of hate she usually does. This... this is new to Harry. At least from his aunt. She huffs and turns and Harry follows along behind her silently.

Finally they reach the car and Harry loads his truck into the boot of the car and carries Hedwig into the back seat with him. He notices his Aunt staring at him in the rear view mirror and raises an eyebrow. Her eyes snap away and she starts the car, pulling away from King's Cross Station.

When they reach their home at Privet Drive Vernon, Harry's Uncle hobbles out of the house and to his wife. He greets her and gives her a kiss, then spot Harry and scowls. "You..." He says bitterly. He pulls Petunia inside, but Harry doesn't miss her looking back at him with the same look in her eyes.

He thinks he knows what it is now. Guilt. But what could his aunt possibly be guilty about?

Harry shakes his head and grabs his trunk, and Hedwig. He frowns as he enters the house. How is he possibly going to fit any of this in his cupboard? His broom was a whole other issue, but Professor McGonagall promised to have it sent to him by the ed=nd of the week. Somehow she knew that carrying all his things by himself was going to be hard.

Harry tries to pull the door to his cupboard open, only to find it locked. "Harry!" He hears his aunt call from upstairs. He looks up to find his aunt looking down at him. "Come up here, will you." Harry lets go of his trunk, but his aunt points at his things. "Bring it upstairs." Harry frowns at her request, but compiles nonetheless. Petunia stands outside Dudley's storage room. "You'll be staying in here from now on.

Harry creases his brows and steps into the room. Where Dudley used to stack all of his unused gifts is a bed. An actual bed with a bedside desk and a dresser on the other wall. A closet stands next to Harry as well. Harry can't help but smile. He walks in and sits on the bed. It's not as comfortable as his bed back at Hogwarts, but it's infinitely better than the mat he used to sleep on in the cupboard under the stairs.

He turns to his aunt. "But why?" Petunia opens her mouth to answer, but finds no words coming out. Harry frowns, then she turns and walks away. Harry would have thought on the matter more, but he had to unpack. He had his own room now and he was beyond excited.

During the night Harry hears his bedroom door creak open. He opens his eyes and looks up to see his Aunt looking at him, strange bags under her eyes. "Come down to the living room please." She turns and leaves. Harry stares at where she once stood in shock. Did his aunt just say 'please' to him?

Now he really has to know what is going on.

Harry tosses the blankets off of him and pulls his glasses on. Careful not to wake his uncle or Dudley, he walks downstairs. Petunia sits in her chair, nervously messing with the fringe on her robe. Once she spots him, she sits up straight and gestures to the couch. Harry sits down and Petunia takes a deep breath.

"I'm sorry." Harry nearly chokes on his own breathing. Did she just say 'sorry'? Has someone stolen his aunt and replaced his with this imposter? "What?" He asks, completely lost. Petunia nods. Harry can tell she's struggling to say whatever it is she is trying to. "About everything."

Harry doesn't speak and Petunia continues on. "I never hated your mother." She says, looking at the ugly wallpaper around them. "Lily was different, and I was jealous." Harry's eyes widened. Petunia? Jealous? But he thought she hated witches and wizards. "I wanted so badly to be like her, but no matter how hard I tried, I never was."

You can't will yourself into magic, Harry knows that. But where was all this coming from? "When she left for Hogwarts our parents were infatuated by her and gave her all of the attention. I become cruel to her." Petunia lights a cigarette and Harry tries to ignore the smell. "I became the outcast in the family, so I wanted to feel as I did."

Petunia takes a deep breath and a puff from her lit cigarette. "It was only last year when I realized I was making you feel the same way I did growing up." Harry just continues to stare at his aunt in utter astonishment. "And your father. He was a good man. Strange, sure, but he never treated me poorly."

Harry was beyond confused. All this time, his aunt had been treating him this way... because she felt as he did? An outcast? "It nearly killed me when I discovered your mother died." Harry watches as his aunt closes her eyes, trying to stop the tears from forming in her eyes. "I truly am sorry Harry. If I could take it all back, I would."

Harry just stares. He isn't sure what to say. All the years she's tormented him... they don't just disappear with an apology. And his Uncle still hates him. Dudley is just a product of his parents' hatred. But now that Harry thinks about it, all the horrid slurs that were announced about his parents, and even him, all originated from his uncle. Petunia would only follow in his footsteps. Maybe, there was hope for the Dursley's after all.

Harry takes a deep breath, then looks at his aunt.

      "I forgive you."

I HAD TO CHANGE UP A FEW THINGS IN THE REQUEST LIKE THE TIMING OF THEIR DISCUSSION BECAUSE IN THE MOVIE HAGRID SHOWS UP AND TAKES HARRY TO LONDON.

IT JUST WOULDN'T WORK OUT.
