I looked at myself in the mirror for one last time before starting to remove my jewellery. I was hell tired. As I kept the last piece of jewellery on the table, I heard the door click and Laksh entered inside the room. He was still in his wedding attire.

Yup,we got married a few hours ago.

Finally, after dating for three years, we can call each other husband and wife. It sounds great!

Ah yes, three years!

We were supposed to get married after my engineering. Our parents agreed too. Even the date was fixed but after that argument we had that day about him working as someone else's bodyguard, we decided not to rush it.

I didn't want him to work as a bodyguard for anyone else and he was hell bent on not giving up his passion. He liked that job a little too much. We didn't want to give up on each other and didn't want to make compromises too.

Our families and friends were confused as to why we postponed our wedding because we were dying to get married. We actually were!

We didn't talk about wedding and future plans for around a month. We just, stayed together, without speaking a word about that topic.

Seeing us like that and to clear out confusion, Ryan came to our rescue. Even though he behaves as a stupid most of the times, he handled the matter with maturity and we were glad that he did. He gave us a solution to our problem.

He suggested Laksh to go for civil services because it was a similar job and he didn't have to compromise much. Laksh was at first in denial but after thinking for a week, he decided to give it a try but he took a promise from me that I would not force him to quit if he didn't like the job of a civil servant and I happily made the promise. Obviously, I could do that much for him if he was ready to give up on his dream job for me.

He studied really hard for his SPSC exam for six months straight and cleared it in one go.

We didn't used to spend much time together during his preparation but still, we were together and used to spend at least an hour together during the day.

After clearing the exam, he went for training for a year. We stayed away from each other for a whole year. No meetings, just limited phone calls and texts.

"I don't want to get distracted from my goal!" he said when I complained about staying away from each other.

He did all that for me. He's perfect, right!

I couldn't have asked for a better partner than him and all that just strengthened our relationship. We were in a long distance relationship for a year. It was like a test for us and we passed it with flying colours.

After his training, he joined as DSP of the city. It has been four months since he joined. He is liking his work quite much and as a result of him loving his new job, here we are today, married and happy.

I came back to reality when Laksh started walking in my direction. I smiled at him. He stood in front of me and then took hold of both of my hands in his hands. He then intertwined our fingers.

"Thank you..." I started, smiling warmly at him.

He looked confused.

"Thank you for not giving up on us and changing your career for me." I continued.

He shook his head and pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back, feeling content.

"I did it for us!" he mumbled in my ear and kissed my earlobe.

We broke the hug after a few minutes and kept staring at each other. It was like our eyes were doing their own talking.

He then pulled me closer to him making our chests dash with each other.

"Now, shall we start?" he asked looking at me with a stupid grin on his handsome face.

Blood rushed to my cheeks as I got what he was referring to. I tried to get away from him but he didn't let me move an inch. I huffed, feeling defeated in front of his large figure.

"I hate your strength!" I said whinning.

"You're going to love my strength tonight honey." he said winking at me.

My face turned more red at his words, only if it was possible.

"Shameless!"

He laughed out and I pouted. He let go of my hands and caressed my faced. I closed my eyes feeling his rough hand making its way to my bare back. He let it roam there for a while.

My eyes opened wide as he picked me up in his arms and started making his way towards the bed. He put me on the bed and removed his sherwani. I moved my face away, feeling shy.

It wasn't like I haven't seen him shirtless before but the feeling of seeing him shirtless as my husband was different.

He held my chin with his finger and made me look at him. His abs were on full display and God, all that hard work he has been doing for more than a year was showing off.

"All yours!" he said cheekily.

I hit him on his chest before he hovered upon me, his passionate eyes staring straight into my soul. I was feeling so small and helpless in front of him. It wasn't the first time that we were getting this close but still I was feeling so nervous. Maybe because I knew what was coming.

"I'm tired." I said biting the inside of my cheek.

"No, not today" he said whining like a baby.

I chuckled as I circled my arms around his neck and pulled him into a deep and passionate kiss.

The night was about to go wild!

I woke up twitching my eyes to the sunlight that was falling directly onto my face. I groaned before stretching my hand to the other side of the bed but couldn't find him. My eyebrows furrowed at him not being there. I pulled the sheets to cover my naked self before sitting up on the bed. I looked around the room for Laksh but he wasn't there.

As I was about to get up, he exited from the washroom in a towel. Water was dripping from his freshly showered body and the sight was heavenly.

"Good morning sunshine" he greeted as he started walking towards the bed.

"Good morning to you too. What time is it? Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked, pecking his lips as he bent down to my level.

"It's not that late and I didn't wake you up because you were tired." he replied caressing my face.

I looked confused as a devilish smirk started to make its way on his face. I immediately gripped the sheets in my fists as he tried to pull them.

"Laksh!" I warned him.

"What? It's not like I haven't seen what's under these sheets last night!" he said throwing his hands in the air.

I rolled my eyes at him.

"Shut up and move away! I'm already tired. Don't you dare try to worsen it for me." I said pointing my index finger at him.

"Was I too hard on you?" he asked shamelessly, making me turn red.

God! I didn't know that he could be such a pervert.

"Let me go to the washroom." I said ignoring his question.

"Fine, your highness!" he said, dramatically bowing down to me.

I got up from bed, making sure that the sheets were covering every inch of my body and made my way to the bathroom.

"Such a pervert my husband is!" I said locking the door and making the sheets fall from my body.

I took a bath and got ready in a pink anarkali. When I walked out of the walk-in closet, Laksh was ready in his uniform.

"Where are you going?" I asked approaching him.

"Police Station!" he replied as he wore his watch on his wrist.

"But it's our first day after marriage. You can at least spend it at home with me." I complained

He sighed as he cupped my face.

"Ragini, this job isn't as easy as you must be thinking. Work can call anytime and we can postpone it. I only got three days off for the wedding. It's time to go back to work now." he said patting my head.

"This is not fair." I said pouting.

He chuckled at my childish behaviour.

"It is at least better than me staying away from you six days a week. I'll be with you every evening and on day offs. Now give me my morning kiss." he said puckering his lips cutely.

I smiled kissing him.

"Take care and have your food on time. Be comfortable around the house. Everyone loves you so no need to worry about anything and feel like home. I'll call you whenever I get time. Love you." he said giving me a quick hug.

"I love you too"

"Bye!"

"Good day,officer!" I said as he left the room.

I sighed sitting on the bed.

Time for a new life with my permanent bodyguard.
