This cake I made to celebrate bonfire night for those of you who don't know, bonfire night if a British holiday celebrated on the 5th of November the very night that the Gunpowder Plot was foiled in 1605, bonfires were set alight to celebrate the safety of the King. Since then, November 5th has become known as Bonfire Night. The event is commemorated every year with fireworks and burning effigies of Guy Fawkes on a bonfire. Guy Fawkes is the man who came up with the plot which failed if you want to know more look him up.

To make this cake you will need 2 8in tins

Cake

225g butter
225g caster sugar
225g self-raising flour
4 eggs
25g cocoa powder
1 tbsp milk

Mix all ingredients together
Bake for 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees.

For icing
250g butter
300g icing sugar
25g cocoa powder

Mix all ingredients together
Spread on cake

Decorate with Kitat fingers chopped in half to look like sticks and maltteaser around the top of the cake.
