Lucy's POV

It's been about two weeks since that day Natsu left me sitting in garden alone. Two weeks since my smile faded again.

I sighed and went into the bathroom. I pulled my long hair into a messy bun and started up a hot bath. Hot steam filled the air as I laid in the tub. A soft moan of comfort escaped my lips as I let the water envelope around my body.

"Miss?" I heard Virgos voice come from outside the room.

"Yes?" I called back. "The banquet is in about three hours, don't forget" she told before leaving.

Shit i totally forgot about that. I drained the tub and wrapped the towel around my marvelous curves and turned on my hair curler. I went into my closet and pulled out the pink dress and laid it carefully on my bed.

I decided to do my hair and make first so I lessen the chance of ruining my dress. First I applied a light power to my fair skin, followed my a silver cover the top of my eyelids. Then I masked that with a light pink.

I decided on a small wing for my eyeliner and mascara to thicken my lashes and give them the longer effect. I brushed on some blush and painted my lips with a matte pink/red lipstick.

Next I took my hair down and curled all the ends of my hair. I pulled two strands and tie them to the back. My bangs hung across my forehead and I had to side pieces curled at the tip curving around my cheeks.

Please with my appearance I leave the bathroom and head to my dress. I pull it carefully out of the bag and on zip it. I sip into it and attempt to zip it but can reach the top.

"Virgo!" She came within seconds. "Yes ma'am?"

I pointed to my back and she nodded. I heard a loud zip! Then felt the dress grow tighter. "Thank you Virgo." She smiled and walked out. I took one final glance into the mirror to make sure I was banquet ready.

"Time to get going I suppose" I muttered as I called a cab to bring me to the city. I regret it, I wish I would have ask Capricorn to stay tonight and drive me.

The cab driver gave me the creeps and it smelt horrible. As soon as he game to a stop I threw some money at him and flew out.

The banquet looked extremely lavishing. The chandelier was sparkling with millions of sparkling lights, the curtains were a slick golden golden. The lights reflected perfectly on the shiny floor. Over all it was a nice sight.

"Lu-chan!"

I turned to see my head executive assistant Levy McGarden. "Hey levy-chan!" I smiled and gave a small wave. She walked up with her boyfriend Gajeel. He also worked at the company, that's were the two grew closer.

"Yo Lucy! Where's the beer?" I cringed as my alcoholic friend Cana appeared. She too worked with me. We all graduated the same year and later on they all slowly joined the company. It pleased me to have responsible friends working by my side.

Cana knows better than to come to work drunk or hungover so her attitude changed but out of work she's still the same as ever. We all began talking till he walked in. "Damn Salamander tch" I heard Gajeel mutter.

"Ahh Erza!" Levy squealed as the red head walked up. She, along with Gray and Juvia had joined with Natsu. But I couldn't hold a grudge on them, after all we weren't all that close but they were all still friends. "Hello everyone" Erza spoke so softly and mature.

"Love rival!" I looked over my shoulder to see an angry Juvia headed in my direction. I sweat dropped a bit. "Juvia.. I'm honestly not going to steal Gray from you. I barley even see him around" she smiled then jumped on Gray yelling "Gray-sama!! What do you think of Juvias dress!?!"

I giggled then turned to see Natsu standing beside all of them with a glass of champagne. "Good Evening minna" everyone nodded besides me. I just looked around nervously tried to avoid making contact.

I eventually made small talk with the group and would smile or left a soft chuckle every now and then. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Natsu smiling, but what shocked me was the longingly stares he would make directed at me.

His smiles and staring kept distracting me. What is he trying to pull here? I looked up and made eye contact with him. He smiled and used his eyes to motion to step away and talk to him. He started to walk off, it took me a second but I finally walked over to him.

"Hey"

"hi" I said shyly.

"Look" he scratched the back of his head. "I just wanted to say I-"

"No way!! Dragneel and Heartfilia are having a conversation! Can I get a picture of y'all together!?" I went to object but Natsu had already wrapped his arm around my waist tightly, a little tighter than a normal picture tight.

It was almost as if he didn't wanna let me go. I shook my head ferociously then smiled. There was a flash followed by a "thanks!" I could still feel Natsu's arm around me. Even though deep down I didn't wanna move, I pulled away. Natsu stepped back slowly and cleared his throat.

"Anyway I just wanted to say I'm-"

"Ladies and Gentleman!!" The announcer came on the speakers. "I wanted to thank all of you for coming tonight, it means a lot to me!" They smiled brightly at the crowd. I saw Natsu crossed his arms and pout. I wonder what his deal is.

I yawned as the announcer went on and on. "Ano... Excuse me" I saw a girl go up on stage. "An Anonymous person has requested this to be played." She pretty much whispered into the mic. A screen projector slowly came down from ceiling.

I saw my name pop up on the screen, followed by Natsu's. "Well now here's something I bet no one was ever expecting." Someone walked up on stage. "As everyone knows Ms. Heartfilia and Mr. Dragneel. The two top companies in the area. And are secretly dating?"

That's when it showed on the screen. My arms around his neck, his hands on my waist, our lips sealed together. I heard everyone one gasp. "The rivals are actually in love? Is this a joke or something I seriously can't deal" the person laughed.

That's when I recognized that high peppy voice. "Lisanna what the hell!" I heard Natsu yell. When I turned and looked at him he look pissed, like really pissed. "Oh wait but there's more!"

She was right there were pics of us on our site seeing tour, in the part and always being together even that new pic that we just took. "Turn that off right fucking now" I could hear Natsu's voice roaring somewhere.

I felt so light headed. I closed my eyes tightly and took a deep breathe. I slowly walked towards the smirking girl with white hair on stage. I walked up to her and bitch slapped her across the face.

The slap echoed throughout the silent room. "You shut the fuck up, you peppy little stuck up bitch! You don't know anything about me or Natsu's relationship, so don't go assuming shit!" I screamed at her.

My hand stung badly so I know her stupid cheek hurts. No one said a word as I walked off the stage. "Cana, I need something strong and now" I sighed as I walked over to her. "Now that's what I wanna hear! Come on there's a little pub down the street called Fairytail" she said happily as she drug me out the building into the street.

15 shots and 7 beers later I'm pouring my heart out to Cana. "It's just with out my parents I felt so so lonely. I didn't wanna let anyone in" I cried. "But Natsu still loved you right? Why did you push him away?" She asked my drunken self.

"I don't know! I just *hic* I just felt like if he wouldn't have came over that day my parents no our parents wouldn't have died." I sobbed loader than stood up. I wobbled over to the door and attempt to call a taxi. "Lucy get back here!!" Cana yelled after me.

Natsu's POV

After destroying the video of pictures Lisanna made and apologizing to many people I decided to head home. My apartment was just down the street from here. It was unusually quiet tonight which was indeed peaceful.

"Lucy get back here!!" I heard someone yell. I turned my head to see Lucy tripping over her feet running around in the street waving to her arms around. I sweat dropped and went to go help her.

"Lucy" she turned and looked at me with a glare. "Leave me alone you asshole I hate you" I grabbed her arm. "Shut it come on let me get you home" she snatched her arm away and shoved me.

"Screw you Natsu. I hate you leave me *hic* be" she muttered. "Why huh!?" I yelled at her. "Because I do!! I hate you! I hate you! I hate that... I love you.. I hate you jerk" she started sobbing.

"Come on Lucy you drunk." She finally started to accept my help before curling over and throwing up. I pulled her hair back and rubbed her back until she stopped. Her eye lids were have closed and she had slobber on her mouth.

I took out a napkin and cleaned her face off. The next thing I knew she was like a sack of potatoes in my arms asleep. I pulled her up and slung her legs over my arm and carried her bridal style.

"Hey Natsu!"

I hear someone yell causing me to turn back. "A drunk mans words are a sober mans thoughts" she winked. I felt my face flush up, she hear what Lucy said? "Make sure she's safe, ya hear?" I nodded and started walking.

I went to my apartment since is was a hell a lot closer then her house. I carefully laid her down on the bed. I crossed my arms looking at her puke stained dress. "What am I gonna do with you Luce?" I shook my head and slowly unzipped her dress.

I went and grabbed one of my tshirt and laid it beside her. I honestly was really hard to get this damn dress off. Her lace undies kept bunting and trying to come off with her dress. I immediately would grab the hime and hold them down and tug at the dress. (Happens to me all the time TBH)

Finally it slipped off and she was free. I called and had someone take them dress in for cleaning despite the hour. When I went back to Lucy and she was sprawled out on her back, hair all messed up covering her face, and the position she was in...

Be strong be strong, you a strong man Natsu! Damn it she's beautiful. I grabbed the tshirt and pulled her top half of her body up and slipped the shirt on as fast as I could. As soon as it was on her properly I laid her down and threw the blanket over her body.

I sighed deeply and started to leave the room. Until I heard her whining.. "Natsu..." I slowly went to her and knelt down beside her. "Thirsty" she pointed at her throat. I chuckled and grabbed her some water.

She chugged the whole thing in literally 10secs dropped the water bottle and fell back to sleep.

After I closed the door and laid on the crouch I started thinking about what she said. "She hates that she loves me? Does Lucy love me? I highly doubt it, she seemed so pissed tonight, then again so was I and I know I love her."

Then what Cana said earlier popped back up in my mind.

A drunk mans words are a sober mans thoughts.

I found my self smiling to sleep.
