I woke up to knocking. I opened my eyes, and was met with Hawk's chest. Me and Hawk's have gotten closer in the past two weeks. And he's finally becoming more a human being.

There was knocking again, and Hawk's stirred a bit. Not a lot, but it was just enough to sneak out of his arms.

I grabbed a blanket, and walked towards the front door. There was some more knocking, just as I was opening the door, and I interrupted it.

"Oh hey y/n." Tokoyami said.

"Hey Tokoyami." I greeted him, and moved out of the way so that he could walk in. Dark Shadow came out and gave me a hug.

I haven't gotten to see Tokoyami in a while, and it had been a long time since we had fought side by side. After Dark Shadow let me go, Tokoyami hugged me.

"Are you ready for today?" He asked me, and I walked into the kitchen and started a pot of coffee.

"I hope so." I said. "I just hope that today isn't the end of everything."

"I don't think that's how it'll be." Tokoyami told me and Dark Shadow nodded in agreeance.

"Either way, today is a big day." I said. "Good or bad."

"Kid who was at the-?" Hawk's asked as he walked into the kitchen, but stopped when he saw Tokoyami.

"Tokoyami came to spend the day with us." I said happily. But I'd be lying if I said my heart didn't feel like it was about to burst out of my chest.

"Oh, are we doing something special today?" He asked as he and Tokoyami hugged. They haven't seen each other in a long time.

"Kind of." I said and poured Hawk's a cup of coffee. "It's either going to be special or nothing special."

"What does that mean?" He asked and took a sip from his cup.

"Don't worry about it right now." I told him, and walked out of the kitchen to go change.

I took a deep breath as Hawks walked out of the bedroom, dressed. We walked out the door with Tokoyami, and walked into the stairway.

"Where are we going?" Hawks asked, as he slowly followed us.

"To the roof!" Dark Shadow cheered. Hawks got a worried look on his face. I gave him a reassuring smile, and kept heading up the stairs to the roof.

Tokoyami opened the door for us and we walked out onto the flat roof. I took a deep breath, and pulled my phone out.

"So what are we doing up here?" Hawks asked as he spun around in a couple circles. I smiled and handed Tokoyami my phone.

The reason Tokoyami was here today, was to see if we get our Pro-Hero Hawks back. Our mentor. Our family.

I walked up to Hawks, and he faced me.

"I need you to take you shirt off." I told him. He looked at me weird, but did it anyway. I set his shirt and jacket to the side and made him face away from me.

"Kid what are you doing?" He asked me, and eyed Tokoyami who was recording us. And recording, what could be, my greatest work of art.

"You just got to trust me." I told him and placed my hands on Hawk's back, right where his scars were. "You trust me right?"

"Of course." He said.

"Then just close your eyes." I whispered in his ear. I watched him close them, before I stepped back a bit. I took a deep breath, and activated my quirk. I watched as the giant red wing tattoo on Hawk's back lit up.

I tried not to let my hopes get up too high, before I started stepping back and bringing the tattoo to life.

I threw my arms out to the side, and I watched as the tattoo bloomed and stretched out to the same size as his wings were four months ago.

I smiled, and took some deep breaths. Using my quirk to this extent took a lot more energy than I thought it would.

"Hawks." I said and he turned around. His eyes were already wide, as he looked past the wings and at me. "Can you feel them?"

"I . . . . I-I don't know." He said, and he looked to scared to move. I walked forward, and held my hand out. I ran my hand over the feathers, and I watched as they reacted.

I took a breath in as I watched Hawks start crying.

"Oh my god." He breath into his hands.

"Fluff them." I told him, and I was crying too. He fluffed them, and stretched and flapped. "What about the feathers?" I asked him. That was the one part I was worried about. He had to concentrate for a moment, before the feathers all dispersed at once and flowed around us.

I couldn't help but laugh. I was so happy. But I couldn't imagine I was as happy as Hawks.

I turned to face him, and he was already right in front of me.

Before I could say anything, he crashed his lips with mine. I kissed him back, and we both cried into the kiss.

"How did you do this?" He asked me, and tucked some of my hair behind my ear.

"I took you to a tattoo parlor." I told him. "I've been studying for almost four months. I studied it for you. And when I used my quirk . . . . it worked. I drew everything the design, the tattoo itself, the shading, the details. Everything." I said and hugged him. He hugged me back, and spun me around in a couple of circles. Wrapping us both up in his wings.

"Why don't we try them out?" He whispered in my ear. And I jumped, as he crouched a bit, and his wings spread out far.

"Hawks wait-!" I yelled out, but it was took late. We were already off the roof. We shot straight into the air, and Hawks wobbled a bit as he had to get used to flying again. But after a minute, he got the hang of it again.

"Kid . . . ." Hawks said, and looked down at me. "Baby Bird." He whispered, before kissing me sweetly on the lips. "Thank you."
