MY LITTLE DOVE.

(chapter twelve, died, dead, death)

the academy, 2248.

▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

WHILST THE FACT THAT Sabyn had killed someone should have surprised Dorothy, it didn't. It didn't surprise her, for Sabyn did say she would kill people in the arena.

And so, Dorothy watched as Reaper walked out of the barricade. He cocked his head at the bodies of Tanner and Lamina. He walked around them for some time before he lifted Lamina up, carrying her to where Bobbin and Marcus laid, arranging the three in a row on the ground. Then, he dragged Tanner over. And then Dill. And then Sol. But he had left Jessup out, probably afraid of contracting rabies. But either way, he had made a makeshift morgue.

As Dorothy watched the screen, she concluded that Reaper had gone crazy. He had cut off a second piece of the flag, draping it over their bodies (this caused another outrage). He then took Lamina's piece of the flag and tied it like a cape around his shoulders. He began to spin slowly, watching it fly over his shoulder and then he ran, spreading his arms out as the flag flew. After this, he climbed into the stands and waited.

"Oh, for heaven's sake, feed him, Clemmie!" Festus groaned from beside Dorothy.

"Mind your own business," Clemensia snapped.

"You're heartless," Festus told her.

"I'm a good manager. It could be a long Hunger Games." She turned around and smirked at the twins. "And it's not like I've abandoned him."

Dorothy closed her eyes and sighed at her words. She knew it was probably the snake's venom that was causing Clemensia to be like she was, but seeing her best friend in such a state hurt her. Dorothy really needed to get some peace and quiet.

Five o'clock came and the student body was dismissed whilst the nine remaining mentors gathered for beef stew and cake. Dorothy and Coriolanus hung around each other, for Clemensia was eying them as if they were her dinner, they didn't know Vipsania, Urban was a ticking bomb, Festus was flirting with Persephone, Persephone was a cannibal, and Hilarius's woeful tales of being a Heavensbee had become annoying. And so, the twins had to stick together. They were all happy when Satyria released them, but they remembered their appointment with Dr Gaul. Apparently, Coriolanus had to get his stitches checked and so they went together.

The guards recognised them once they reached the Citadel, and after searching their book bags, they were allowed to go down in the lab unescorted. They wandered for a bit before finding the clinic and the two sat there for half an hour before two doctors appeared. Each doctor checked each Snow, examining their stitches and studying their vitals. They soon left and told them to wait.

And as they waited, Coriolanus and Dorothy exchanged glances at each other. Outside of the clinic, quick footsteps, raised voices, and impatient orders were heard. But before they could even eavesdrop on what was happening, Dr Gaul appeared.

"Another few days," she said as she did brief checks on their stitches. "Tell me, Mr and Miss Snow, did you two know Gaius Breen?"

"Did we?" Coriolanus asked. Dr Gaul had used past tense. "We do. I mean, we're classmates, the three of us. I know he lost his legs in the arena. Is he—"

"He's dead. Complications from the bombing."

"Dead?" Dorothy whispered. Gaius Breen was dead. The boy who had told the worst jokes ever, but still made everyone laugh was dead. And whilst Dorothy didn't really know him, the fact that he was dead still hurt. "We didn't even visit him..."

"When's the funeral?" Coriolanus asked.

"That's being worked out. You two must keep it to yourselves until we make an official announcement," Dr Gaul instructed them. "I'm only telling you two now so that at least some of you will have something intelligent to say to Lepidus. I trust the pair of you can managed that."

"Yes, of course," Coriolanus said whilst Dorothy nodded. "That will be strange, announcing it during the Games. Like a victory for the rebels."

"Exactly. But rest assured, there will be repercussions. In fact, it was your girl, Mr Snow, who gave me the idea. If she wins, we should compare notes. And I haven't forgotten you owe me a paper."

"A paper?" Dorothy asked once the woman left. "On what?"

"I don't remember," Coriolanus admitted. "Something beginning with C."

With a sigh, the twins left the clinic and approached the elevator. There was a pair of lab assistants trying to manoeuvre a cart into the car. On the cart sat the large tank filled with the snakes that had attacked Clemensia.

"Did she say to bring the cooler?" One of the assistants asked.

"Not that I remember," the other said. "I thought they'd been fed. We better check. If we're wrong, she'll go ballistic." They noticed the two twins. "Sorry, need to back out."

"It's okay," Dorothy said as her and her brother stepped aside as the elevator doors closed, the two staff backing the tank out.

"Oh, sorry, it will be back in a minute."

"No problem," Coriolanus said. "Where are you taking the snakes?"

"Oh, just to another lab," they said. "Come on, the cooler takes two."

Dorothy nodded as the two assistants left, leaving them alone with the snakes. Coriolanus seemed very interested in them as he stalked towards them, eyebrows furrowed.

"Don't get too close," Dorothy warned him. "I don't want you ending up like Clemmie."

"I'll be fine," Coriolanus murmured.

Dorothy watched as he got even closer as if he was in a trance. It certainly looked that way as he dug into his book bag, bringing something out. The elevator came down and its doors pinged open.

"Coryo!" Dorothy called out to him. "The elevator's here, let's go. I want to get out of this place as quickly as possible."

"Mhm." Coriolanus nodded absentmindedly. He had something balled in his hand, his back to the cameras and Dorothy as he held his hand on the cover. Something fell through the trapdoor. And suddenly, Coriolanus ran from the tank and into the elevator, dragging Dorothy with him.

"Coryo!" Dorothy hissed. "What's wrong?"

He didn't answer. He didn't answer for the entire elevator ride or even when the Peacekeepers saw them off. Instead, he blindly turned corner after corner, Dorothy racing after him. And as she did, pedestrians and drivers beeped and shouted at her as she chased Coriolanus, who seemed keen on getting far away from the Citadel. But suddenly, he took a turn and bolted into the park where Dorothy was with Sejanus a week earlier.

"Coriolanus?" Dorothy called out as she tried to find him. He had disappeared into the bushes. When Dorothy found him, he was shaking on a park bench. "Coryo? What's wrong? Why did you run like that?"

"I didn't run," Coriolanus muttered, his head in his hands.

"Okay..." Dorothy cocked her head as she sat down beside him, hand on his shoulder as her eyes narrowed. "Coriolanus... what did you do?"

"I didn't do anything."

"Don't lie," Dorothy told him. "What did you do?"

There was a moment of silence and a battle appeared between the two twins. Dorothy was staring at him whilst Coriolanus was trying to ignore her glare. But he sighed and said, "I didn't do anything. I just wanted to look at the snakes."

"You wanted to look at the snakes that nearly killed Clemmie?" Dorothy sighed. He was not telling the truth. "Coryo... why aren't you telling me?"

"I didn't do anything, Dottie," Coriolanus murmured. He stood up abruptly and began to walk away.

"Where are you going?"

"Home."

But he took a different path from their apartment and whilst Dorothy should have stopped him, slapped some sense in him, she didn't. Instead, she huffed and walked the right direction home. Really, she should have followed him, but with how he was acting, Dorothy didn't want to. But maybe he was visiting Sejanus? No, Sejanus was not Coriolanus's friend. But with the mention of Sejanus, she probably should visit him soon.

When Dorothy got home, Tigris asked where Coriolanus was. She had said he had gone to check on Sejanus (which may not have been true, but still) and she did not say anymore. The Grandma'am had gone to sleep since it was very late and Dorothy was about to collapse from exhaustion and so, she took a long, hot shower and went to bed.

But it didn't seem like she was asleep for long since she was woken up by the horrendous voice of her grandmother. Dorothy should have gotten used to it by now, but still, she was in desperate need of sleep.

"Here." Dorothy had walked out of her room after getting ready to see Coriolanus tossing a paper bag her way. So, he did come home after his... well, whatever had happened.

"Where did you go?" Dorothy asked as she peered into the bag, but her question was answered when she saw Mrs Plinth's cooking. "I thought you didn't like the Plinths."

Coriolanus didn't say anything and just shrugged, causing Dorothy to narrow her brows as they said their goodbyes and headed for the trolley. Dorothy was very cautious of her brother as they sat together for the ride. She hadn't forgotten about what happened with the snakes. Dorothy knew Coriolanus had done something, but she didn't know what.

As Dorothy and Coriolanus entered Heavensbee Hall, velvet ropes cordoned off the section where the nine remaining mentors sat and now signs hung on the back of each chair with a mentor's name. Assigned seating. Probably caused because of the bickering yesterday. And whilst Dorothy thought she would have to sit beside Coriolanus, she groaned when she saw her name beside Clemensia. The snake-like girl smirked.

"Surely there's another Dorothy Snow here," Dorothy murmured to Coriolanus. He was sitting beside Io and Urban. "Please say there's another Dorothy Snow here."

"I think you're the only Dorothy Snow." Coriolanus winced. And so, Dorothy had to take her seat beside Clemensia, trying not to sigh when she saw her eyes stare at her. Thankfully, Festus was beside her and he sighed in relief when he saw her.

"Thank those above you're here," Festus quietly said to Dorothy as she took her seat. "I don't think I could handle this assigned seating by myself."

"Well, I'm here to save the day," Dorothy murmured. She sent a forced smile at Clemensia, who tried to say something, but the voice of Lucky welcoming the audience interrupted her.

Nothing had happened over night except the movement of Jessup's body, who was now lined up with the other bodies. Reaper probably moved him. And whilst Lucky focused on this, Dorothy couldn't help but think about Gaius Breen. Was Dr Gaul going to announce his death? Dorothy thought she might have, but no word of the boy's death was heard. The only interesting thing to happen was when the first tribute made an appearance and it took a while for people to figure out who she was.

"It's Wovey!" Hilarius shouted. "She's alive!"

Dorothy winced as she looked at the girl. She remembered her to be scrawny and skinny, but now, she looked like a corpse with her arms and legs like sticks and her cheeks sunken. The girl crouched at the mouth of a tunnel, squinting into the sunlight as she clutched an empty water bottle.

"Hold on, Wovey! Food's on the way!" Hilarius said as he quickly scrolled through his cuff. Somehow, she had some sponsors, for about a half dozen drones sped across the arena towards her. And as the supplies showered her, Wovey lifted her hand, but she seemed dazed. She clawed at the ground and found a bottle. The girl took a few sips of the water before she sank back against the wall. A thin stream of silverfish liquid trickled out of the side of her mouth as she burped, but she then went still.

"She's dead," Urban announced.

"No! No, she's not dead!" Hilarius said. "She's just resting!"

Dorothy thought of how weird Wovey's death was. The girl was alive one minute, but then dead the next. Maybe of starvation? Natural causes? But no-one could ignore the silver liquid that trickled out of her mouth.

They all waited to see if Wovey was indeed just resting but after ten minutes, Hilarius gave up and lifted his chair. He had a short interview with Lepidus and soon left. And since nothing was happening in the arena, Lucky threw a bit of a party for himself in his studio, announcing that they were in the final eight now. With that, Satyria came and organised them into two rows of four. Dorothy, Festus, Clemensia, and Vipsania were at the front whilst Coriolanus, Io, Urban, and Persephone were at the back.

It was a while before another tribute came out of their hiding spot. Around lunchtime, Reaper came out from the barricade, his cape still flapping behind him. He approached Wovey carefully, crouching beside her as he picked up an apple Hilarius had sent. And whilst Dorothy thought he would eat it, the boy dropped the food and picked Wovey up, adding her to his morgue.

"You see?" Clemensia said from beside Dorothy. She smelt off as well, Dorothy realised. "You see what I'm dealing with? My tribute's mentally unbalanced."

"I guess you're right," Festus said. "Sorry about earlier."

Reaper sat by the dead bodies for a bit, swiping at the flies, but suddenly, three figures came out from a tunnel and he bolted. It was Sabyn, Coral, and Mizzen. Mizzen was still limping, but he didn't require any help from the two girls and so, they went to where Reaper was, looking at the new body. Mizzen nudged the two and pointed to where Wovey's food was. But Dorothy didn't trust that food. She didn't trust the water bottle that Wovey had either. And so, she sent food and water to Sabyn by drone and watched with glee as her bank increased. Every time Sabyn made an appearance, the more sponsors she got.

When lunch was announced, Dorothy and Festus joined Coriolanus at the table where the lunch was being served. Lima beans on noodles. Dorothy didn't mind lima beans and she knew Coriolanus hated them and so, she scoffed hers down and when Coriolanus offered her his, she took it. Her stomach was full by the time their break finished.

Nothing happened after lunch. No tributes crawled out of their hiding places and so, Lucky resumed his coverage, but as he did, Dr Gaul sat across from him, holding Jubilee in his cage. Dorothy wouldn't be surprised if she saw the bird in a cage in the Citadel. "We have a special guest with us today: Head Gamemaker Dr Gaul, who's been making friends with Jubilee. I hear you have some sad news for us, Dr Gaul."

"Yes," Dr Gaul said as she placed the bird's cage on the table. "Due to injuries sustained in the rebel bombing of the arena, another of our Academy students, Gaius Breen, has died."

Half of the students cried out as Dorothy closed her eyes sadly. No-one hated Gaius, he didn't have an enemy in the world and even though Dorothy didn't really know him, she had wished she visited him in the hospital.

"I think I speak for everyone when I say we extend our sympathies to the family," Lucky said.

"We do. But actions speak louder than words and our rebel enemies seem somewhat hard of hearing," Dr Gaul told the camera. "In response, we've planned something special for their children in the arena."

"Shall we tune in?"

In the center of the field, Teslee and Circ were crouched over a pile of rubble, digging around for something. Reaper was high in the stands, wrapped in his cape. He didn't seem worried about the pair from Three. But suddenly, Treech came bolting out of a tunnel, towards Teslee and Circ, who ran for the barricade. At this, confusion washed over the students. And then, some pointed to where an oversized drone was flying into the arena, transporting the snakes that Dorothy and Coriolanus saw being transported. The snakes Coriolanus had, theoretically, tampered with.

The package caught the tributes's attention. Treech halted as the drone reached the middle of the arena. Teslee and Circ paused. Reaper stood up from the stands. And then, the drone released the uncovered tank. But it didn't shatter. It bounced on impact as the walls fell to the ground. Snakes shot out in all directions.

And whilst Dorothy sighed at this, knowing the fate the tributes would face, Clemensia from beside her jumped to her feet and let out another bloodcurdling scream. Festus nearly fell out of his seat whilst Dorothy jumped, nearly toppling over the boy. Her ears were ringing and heart racing as she looked over to see Clemensia with her mouth open and eyes wide. Coriolanus jumped from his seat and wrapped his arms around her from behind. Clemensia went rigid, but quiet as Dorothy's brother began to whisper into her ear.

"Are you all right?" Dorothy panted as she laid a hand on Festus's shoulder.

"I need to change my pants."

Dorothy shook her head before looking at Clemensia, who was still distracted, and then to Coriolanus, who was still whispering in her ear. And so, Dorothy laid a hand on her heart as she tried to focus on the screen.

Treech was sprinting for the stands the moment the snakes were released. He jumped over seats and bounced up the debris hill as he kept moving. Teslee, just realising what was happening, made it to one of the poles and managed to climb up to safety, but Circ stumbled over some debris and the snakes soon got him. A dozen fangs bit into him as pink, yellow, and blue pus coated his body. He died ten seconds later.

Teslee stared at his corpse and sobbed as she clung to the pole. Below her, the snakes were trying to climb up to her, bunching up and jumping.

"What's happening?" Lucky asked.

"These are muttations we've developed in our labs in the Capitol," Dr Gaul told the audience. "They're only snakelets, but full-grown they'll easily outrun a human and that post will be no problem for them to climb. They're designed to hunt humans and reproduce rapidly so any casualties can be swiftly replaced."

And whilst the camera focused on Treech as he climbed onto the narrow shelf over the scoreboard and Reaper as he sat on the roof of the press box, Dorothy couldn't help but wince at the sounds of a girl's scream. And then Sabyn came flying out of a tunnel with Mizzen and Coral shrieking behind her. Dorothy nearly stood up at the sight of Sabyn, but Festus rested a hand on her shoulder and she tried to calm her breathing.

The snakes saw Sabyn sprinting across the field, targeting her. But all the places had been taken. Reaper was on the press box. Treech was on the scoreboard. Teslee was on a pole. Tributes were everywhere. And so, Sabyn went bolting to where the stands where.

Due to the bombing attacks, there was misplaced pillars and beams everywhere, but the rebels seemed to miss one section. The section that Sabyn was sprinting to as she saw a standing pillar. Previously, the pillar had three other buddies and a roof to provide shade, but they had been blown apart and so, only one pillar stood. Sabyn noticed this and began to bolt towards it, snakes on her tail as she leaped over chairs and stands. When reaching the pillar, Sabyn quickly managed to climb it, bear hugging it as she did. Dorothy nearly had a heart attack when she saw Sabyn sit on-top of the pillar, a smirk on her face.

By the time Sabyn managed to get to the top of the pillar, Carol had already been killed by the snakes and Mizzen was already climbing up a pole. And since the snakes couldn't find anyone else to kill, they focused on Teslee, who's grip was failing.

People in the audience began to shush each other as the room went quiet. Somewhere in the arena, someone was singing. And then, Lucy Gray appeared out of a tunnel slowly, humming to a tune. And as she appeared, none of the snakes attacked her.

Coriolanus. Something dropping into the cage. Coriolanus had dropped something into the cage of the snakes, something that had Lucy Gray's scent on it. That was why he didn't tell Dorothy because he had tampered with it. He had given Lucy Gray an opportunity to survive whilst Sabyn would have easily died if she didn't climb to the pillar.

Dorothy's jaw dropped slightly as the snakes slithered to Lucy Gray, surrounding her, curling around her ankles and bare feet as she dropped onto a chunk of marble, spreading her ruffles out on the ground as snakes continued to swarm her. Soon, the fabric had disappeared, leaving her with a skirt of slithering snakes.

And whilst the camera focused on Lucy Gray, Dorothy could see Sabyn's scowl as she watched the snakes. She had told her what happened to Clemensia, told her about the snakes and their obsession with scents. She must think someone had tampered with the snakes to be friendly with Lucy Gray because they knew her scent. And she was right. Coriolanus tampered with them.

The Gamemakers cut to a longer shot, showing that every snake in the arena flocked to her, even the ones that had followed Sabyn all the way on the other side of the arena. At this, Teslee slid down to the ground and limped over to a chain-link fence on one section of the barricade, climbing to safety. And then, the camera made its way back to Lucy Gray as she did her last note, the snakes relaxing.

Lucky looked trapped in a spell as the cameras cut back to him, his mouth open as he quickly shook his head, turning to Dr Gaul, who was stone-faced. "Well, Head Gamemaker, take... a... bow!"

There was a standing ovation in Heavensbee Hall, but Dorothy looked over her shoulder at Coriolanus, who's body language screamed fear. Maybe Dr Gaul knew he tampered with the snakes? If she did, she surely wouldn't forgive him.

"Thank you." Dr Gaul nodded. "But the focus today should be not on me, but on Gaius Breen. Perhaps his classmates might share some remembrances with us."

Everyone gave funny stories of Gaius and told some jokes he had said, but in the end, it was only Dorothy and Coriolanus that had something serious to say, but she was still dazed about what happened.

After a full half hour of remembrance, it was time for everyone to say goodbye to Festus and Io. This was because Coral and Circ both died to the venom of the snakes and Dorothy was quite sad to see Festus go, giving him a tight bear hug. During dinner, the twins both felt the boy's absence.

"Dottie," Clemensia's voice said as she sat down beside her.

"Hey, Clem," Dorothy said carefully, scared she would go off again. "You okay?"

"Yeah," she said softly. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have blamed so much on you and Coryo. I was just terrified."

Dorothy blinked at Clemensia's apology. Whatever Coriolanus had said to her must have calmed her down. And so, Dorothy said, "Clemmie, I should have been there for you, but I wasn't—"

"Oh, come off it." Clemensia laughed lightly. "I knew you were hurt in the arena. And you didn't know what she had planned."

"Still, I should have tried harder," Dorothy said, reaching over and grasping the girl's hand. "Are we okay?"

"Sure..."

Dorothy was about to say more when suddenly, a deep rumble of thunder came from the screen and outside of the Hall. Lucy Gray was still humming to her snakes, but when rain began to pour down heavily, she disappeared. Mizzen, Treech, and Reaper were still in their positions whilst the camera shifted to view Sabyn climbing down her pillar, racing to the nearest tunnel. Good, it's better to stay dry and the snakes were too distracted with Lucy Gray to notice her running away.

Since the bad weather made it too risky to walk back home, everyone decided to sleep in Heavensbee Hall. No-one except Vipsania brought bedding and so, they arranged themselves on the padded chairs, propping their feet up and using their book bags for pillows.

Breakfast wasn't provided that morning, but Festus came in early to pass out egg sandwiches and apples since the Games had brought on an unbreakable bond with the other mentors. And as Dorothy sipped her tea, she began to breakdown the remaining tributes. There was Lucy Gray, who wouldn't be able to win against Sabyn so she was crossed out. Then Teslee, who, yet again, couldn't kill Sabyn. Mizzen was a possible threat, but he was in an alliance with Dorothy's tribute, but it seemed like that had broken since he was on the beam and Sabyn left to go back into the tunnels. Treech, who towered over the girl and was athletic. And Reaper, who had obviously gone crazy. Five tributes were in Sabyn's way of winning.

When sunrise came, dead snakes littered the arena as the three girls weren't seen anywhere, but the boys were sleeping in their soggy clothes, still sitting where they were last night. And as other students began to enter, Vipsania and Clemensia sent food to their tributes. And as they put their orders in, Sabyn ventured out from her tunnel, ignoring the boys and going into stands, climbing onto the pillar that she had sat on prior. Swinging her feet, Sabyn waited for breakfast and so, Dorothy used her cuff to send her a big meal.

Drones arrived and Treech and Sabyn ate their meals whilst Reaper ignored his, climbing down to collect Coral and Circ's bodies, adding them to his morgue. The other three tributes watched him with raised brows, but they didn't engage. And it seemed quite peaceful in the arena. No-one was killing each other even though they easily could. They all just bathed in the sunlight as they ate their breakfast. Sabyn on her pillar. Treech on the edge of the scoreboard. Mizzen on his beam as Persephone sent him food.

And then, after a minute, Teslee showed up and the only tribute missing was Lucy Gray. The little girl was holding a delivery drone, but it looked alternated as she stood directly under Mizzen.

"Does she think that will fly?" Vipsania asked. "Even if it does, how can she control it?"

"She wouldn't have to," Urban said as he leaned forward in his seat. "She wouldn't need to if — but how did she...?"

Teslee flipped a switch, launching the drone up in the air. As it went up, it revealed a cable that was connected from the base of the drone to her wrist and so the drone began to fly in a circle as Mizzen looked down confused, Sabyn even raising a brow. But then, the first drone from Persephone came and it dropped a chunk of bread down and flew off, but then came back as if it was going to make another delivery.

And then, a second drone came in with water and a third with cheese. They did the exact same thing as the first drone, attempting to repeat deliveries. And then, the tail of a drone caught Mizzen in the eye and he yelped.

"Is there anyway for me to contact the Gamemakers?" Persephone asked. "I mean, I sent three more!"

"There's nothing they can do." Urban laughed. "She found a way to hack them. She's blocked their homing direction so his face is their only destination."

And so, three other drones arrived and they glitched the same way. And whilst it was funny at first, it turned to be deadly as he got to his feet and tried to climb down from the beam. Mizzen pulled out his knife and tried to swipe at them, but the drones kept hitting him. But then, he took one wild swing at the technology, but he put too much weight on his injured leg and it gave way. He lost his balance and fell to the ground roughly, snapping his neck, causing Sabyn to wince.

"Oh!" Persephone exclaimed, her voice fills with shock. "Oh, she killed him!"

"She's smarter than she looks," Vipsania said.

"Do not judge a book by its cover." Urban chuckled as he winked at Dorothy. "Especially if it belongs to me."

But Urban spoke too soon for no-one seemed to notice that Treech had climbed down from the scoreboard, through the stands, dropping into the arena, and with a large leap, he brought his axe down on Teslee. The blade connected with her skull, killing her instantly as Treech leaned his hands on his knees, panting before sitting down beside Teslee's body. The moment the drones that were intended for her came down, Treech grabbed them and disappeared behind the barricade.

The camera zoomed in on Sabyn, who had a hint of shock on her face as she stared at Teslee and Mizzen's dead bodies. But with the realisation that she was left alone with Reaper crossed her mind as she packed up her food and water, saluting to the camera before climbing down and disappearing into a tunnel.

Urban and Persephone soon left, their chairs disappearing as it became four mentors left. They moved their seats into two rows of two, Dorothy beside Clemensia and Coriolanus beside Vipsania. Top four. Only three tributes were left for Sabyn to win.

Multiple pings echoed around the room as sponsors began to load up, but the only moving tribute was Reaper, who had jumped down from the press box, getting more of the flag as he added Teslee and Mizzen's bodies to his morgue, covering them with the material.

And whilst Sabyn didn't make an appearance, Lucy Gray did as she stepped out of a tunnel. She looked around before stepping out into the sunlight, going towards a puddle that Reaper had claimed as his. She scooped water, washing her face and drinking. She combed her hair and took out a bottle of water from her pocket, dipping it into the puddle as she collected some of the liquid. After swishing it around, Lucy Gray poured the water back into the puddle and was about to refill it when drones flew in. She tossed away the old bottle and gathered her food and water, moving towards the nearest tunnel when suddenly, she saw Reaper's morgue. She hurried over to it and began to count the bodies.

"She's trying to figure out who's left in the Games," Coriolanus said to Lepidus as he came striding up to him.

"Maybe we should put it up on the scoreboard," Lepidus joked.

"I'm sure the tributes would find that helpful," Coriolanus said. "Seriously, that's a good idea."

But suddenly, Lucy Gray's head shot up and her gifts fell from her skirt as she ran. Treech came out from the barricade, running after her as he grabbed her wrist. He raised his axe as she dropped to his knees.

"No! Lucy Gray!"
