Fennec and Rattlesnake met each other at a very young age and were childhood friends. Rattlesnake developed a crush on Fennec when he was 15, and since then kept trying to date Fennec, while Fennec (who was aware of this) played hard to get. Honestly it took Rattlesnake having to save her from a dragonbite viper before she finally agreed to date him. 13 years later Sahara hatched and so did Adder two years after she did.

Also Rattlesnakes grandfather is half NightWing, that's why Sahara has her black markings.

Growing up in a rather dangerous part of the Sand Kingdom full of unsavory dragons, Sahara learned how to defend herself and be stealthy at a young age. Where she lives,their motto is be strong or die, her brother Adder however, is not very strong, but he's smart, he uses his wit to get himself out of trouble, while Sahara uses her stealth.
Sahara started thieving when she was 3, sometimes her family had moments where they were struggling financially, so Sahara would steal the gold they needed, after awhile she really started to enjoy it and begun to steal more things even though she didn't need to. When she was 6 she got the attention of a high ranking member from a thieves guild and he recruited her into the Sand Rogues. By orders from the leader of the Sand Rogues, she kept her new occupation a secret from her family. One assignment she was given was to travel to the Sky Kingdom and steal a large diamond from a rich SkyWing and bring it back to the Sand Rogues headquarters. But on her way out she was caught and the furious SkyWing swung his talons across her face and gave her the scars on her snout. She completed the assignment though, she got away, barley, but she had to make up a story to her family about how she got the wounds on her snout.
Years later her parents decided to have Sahara attend Jade Mountain Academy, while she's there the Sand Rogues want her to steal from the rich dragonets that are also attending, to which she agreed.
