Personality: Hollow, throughout all of his interactions with Humans and Faunus, remains polite and respectful, bowing in shows of respect to them on several occasions. He is dedicated to the part he plays in the Ritual, and has a flair for theatrics, keeping with his persona of the leader of a traveling troupe. He views battle as a form of dancing and in combat shall unleash moves that cause his always nearby audience to cheer.

When he becomes the Nightmare King, he loses all sense of respect and becomes completely immersed in killing whoever it is that stumbles into his realm, subjecting them to maddening hallucinations to rob them of their sanity and feasting upon their negativity.

Strengths: Fire Bats: Hollow opens his cloak, sending 3 to 6 Fire Bats at the enemy. The Fire Bats start at the level of the head and track the movements of the enemy. Hollow remains stationary during this attack. Each Fire Bat's entrance is announced with a gout of flame coming from Hollow and reaching nearly 20 feet in the air. If the enemy gets within arm's length of Hollow before he sends out all the Fire Bats, he teleports to another part of the battlefield and sends out one last Fire Bat. This Fire Bat cannot be interrupted. This means that it is possible for Hollow to send out only one indestructible Fire Bat.

Dive Dash: Hollow teleports in the air and wraps himself in his cloak until he resembles a drill and dives towards the Enemy. Then he lands and follows up with a dash towards the Enemy direction using his arm wrapped in his cloak like a lance. Hollow tracks where the Enemy was near the start of the dive, and the dive can traverse the entire area.

Dash Uppercut: Hollow dashes across the area with a large swipe directly before launching into the air with an uppercut. At the apex of the uppercut, he disappears and rains fireballs on the area. The fireballs rain down on the area in set parabolics arcs.

Cloak Spikes: Hollow sends his cloak into the ground, causing large twisted cloak spikes to shoot up from the floor. The spikes reach to the nearly 10 feet but there are large enough gaps between them to stay safe. The spikes are not dangerous until they are at their tallest. The spikes persist for about half a second.

Pufferfish: Hollow surrounds himself with his cloak and puffs out and spews tiny fireballs all over the area. This attack occurs when Hollow is backed into a corner. This attack always occurs from the centre of the area. The fireballs travel in all general directions. Fireballs tend to come at the Enemies in sets of two, resulting in essentially a dodging puzzle. Hollow stays in this form for nearly nine seconds. While he is in this mode, Hollow is immune to damage but still takes damage from Elemental Semblances; he also cannot be staggered. This is the first attack he performs if the enemy hits him during his bow.

Teleport: Hollow teleports to a random place in the area to perform an attack.

Skitter: If Hollow teleports on the ground too close to the Enemy, he Skitters away on all fours before resuming his attack. It is rare, but possible, that Hollow telegraphs one type of ground attack, Skitters away, and then performs a different ground attack.

(Troupe Master Form)

Nightmare Fire Bats: Nightmare King sends out 15 Fire Bats instead of 3 - 6. They travel in a targeted pattern: each bat flies towards the enemy and explodes upon impact, it explodes upon impact with anything else as well. If the enemy gets within his arm's length before he ends the attack, Nightmare King will teleport and send 2 more Fire Bats, one high and one low, simultaneously which they will explode in a dazzling Scarlet Flame which cannot be extinguished.

Nightmare Dive Dash: During both dive and dash, Nightmare King is followed by a flame trail that deals massive damage to whoever is caught up in it. The Flame Trail generated by the dive disappears after he lands on the ground. Then he stands up after the dash before disappearing again.

Nightmare Dash Uppercut: Nightmare King dashes across the area with blinding speed and has a trail of fire behind him, he then does a large swipe directly before launching into the air with an uppercut. Nightmare King bursts into 16 fireballs which lock onto the enemy and explodes upon impact.

Nightmare Cloak Spikes: The spikes become dangerous in a shorter amount of time, as crimson spikes rocket from the ground all across the battlefield. Nightmare King is not present during the attack.

Nightmare Flame Pillar: Nightmare King summons 4 large pillars of flame. He remains stationary in the air throughout the attack, sneering down at his enemies. The pillars are summoned one after another. Each pillar starts forming where the Enemy is and reaches around 15 feet into the air. As a pillar begins to fade away, a wide, shorter Scarlet flame appears and remains on the ground, indistinguishable.

Nightmare Pufferfish: The Fireballs travel at a considerably faster speed towards the enemies, the fireballs now explode upon impact and Nightmare King is completely unaffected by all attacks when in this form. He stays in this form for 5 Volleys of fireballs

Scarlet Teleport: Nightmare King teleports to random places across the battlefield to perform his attacks.

Nightmare Skitter: Nightmare King will skitter away from the enemy before starting an attack if they are too close to him. Nightmare King may begin to telegraph the attacks of his enemies, skitter away, and change to another attack.

Weaknesses: Hard Hits: Hollow getting hit hard is unique as he disperses into a swarm of bats resembling the Grimmchild that flies around for 3.5 seconds. Hollow appears in this swarm as the bat with the red eyes. Attacking him does not end the dispersion. After 3.5 seconds, the bats collect and reform back into Hollow.

Weapon Description:

There's more to this Cloak than meets the eye, not only does it primarily conceal the horrific insectoid body underneath the cloak, it acts as Hollow and Nightmare King's Weapon. Its ends are as sharp as a serrated sickle and is used as one of Hollow and Nightmare King Grimm's most brutal attacks. It can easily cleave through a normal human with a swipe of the cloak, and it's soft and strong enough that it wouldn't even tear even if it was against a chainsaw.

Ancient Grimm Senses

Much like Faunus Senses, Hollow has even better Senses, he can see in the dark, smell out people, and even sense their emotions and soul.

Ritual of the Scarlet Flame

Hollow has a Rebirth Ritual through Scarlet Flame, it results in him transferring his unique soul to his 'Kin' a Vessel of his own child that was created through a unique fire known as 'Scarlet Flame' which is known only by Hollow alone, he creates a Baby Vessel of himself and then has one person be the 'Starring Role' of his Ritual, they must fight with the intent of killing Hollow so he can forge the Vessel into an even greater and stronger version of himself to be reborn and grows up alongside that of who is chosen to be his Starring Partner in his Ritual of Scarlet Flame. The final part of the Ritual is reverting back to his natural instinct Grimm Senses, becoming the Nightmare King, who turns the carnival into a sick and twisted monstrosity, once the starring partner defeats Nightmare King, the soul of Hollow is transferred to the completed Baby Hollow Vessel and is completely Reborn. It takes Baby Hollow (He floats by the Starring Partner until he matures) approximately 1 and a half years to grow back to what he originally was, and he'll be stronger than what he was before. He must do this every time before a Kingdom has fallen to 'Collect the remaining fragments of flame' and so he doesn't suffer destruction from his creator and failing his purpose. Baby Hollow floats alongside the one who bested Nightmare King as they take the role of a parent for a year and a half until Baby Hollow matures into Hollow once again. Baby Hollow is capable of combat, shooting Red balls of Scarlet Fire which opponents cannot distinguish until they perish.

Brief History: The Grimm Troupe are a joyous group of travelling performer Grimm bugs of various species. Their colour theme is red, and they all wear Grimm masks with vertical splits crossing their eyes. The known members are the Troupe Master, the charming Hollow himself, the accordion player Bruz and Divine, as well as a couple of Grimmlings. In truth, the members of the Troupe are slaves to The Nightmare Heart, a being born from Nightmares and personally created by the God of Darkness himself. The Troupe's appearance is tied to a perpetual Ritual to sustain the Nightmare King from escaping from the Dream World. They travel through dreams wherever an acolyte has set and lit a Nightmare Lantern, but will be banished from it if it is destroyed. There, Grimmkin Novices, Grimmkin Masters and Grimmkin Nightmares travel to harvest flames of Nightmares and feed them to a Grimmchild. Once the child reaches maturation, the Nightmare King must be killed to sustain the Nightmare's Heart, and then be reborn anew. The Grimm Troupe enters the Kingdom once someone has lit the Nightmare Lantern in any of the Kingdoms. They set their tents wherever a lantern is lit, primarily in a Kingdom which is bound to fall. There, Hollow offers a single warrior to take part in the Ritual, and entrust them with the Grimmchild. The Warrior must guide it through The Kingdom and take the Nightmare flames from the Grimmkin. Hollow also indulges them in a fiery fight for an audience of Grimmkin and rewards them for their performance. But until the Kingdom actually falls, the Nightmare King does not appear.
