Reader's POV

'Aaah...' You moan, clearly satisfied by the Köttbullar you made for everyone eating at your house. Mom helped, of course. Three weeks had passed since you and your friends overthrew the evil teams, and a lot had happened since the big battle against Giovanni.

Cynthia and the others managed to free Lusamine after some hard battles, and Red and the people accompanying him had beaten the leaders too. Silver was kept in custody, since he has a good heart, even if he was part of an evil team. The others were thrown in jail, hopefully never to get out again. Of course, Giovanni didn't survive the fight. You freed Hau in your room after the battle, and he was happy when he realised everyone was still on the good side, and that the worst had passed. You gave Alf his freedom back, and he would sleep in the Fellowship's house in Kanto until he got enough money to buy his own.

Most of the Fellowship members have gone home a few days after the battle, after saying goodbye to everyone and thanking them. Of course, you'd still meet up from time to time.

Your best friends stayed at your place at the Hau'Oli outskirts to celebrate. Lillie put a hand on your arm:
'Isn't it strange to think about how far we've come in such a little time, Y/n?'
You smile as you look at the people who mean so much to you: Hau, Gladion, Red, Blue, Daisy, not to forget Mom, Ash (and his new girlfriend Serena) and of course, Lillie, the love of your life. Her beautiful green eyes twinkle as she stares deeply into your y/c ones.

'You're right', you answer her, 'we have a lot to be grateful for, and achieved many things.'
Gladion smirks:
'I didn't even see you during the battle.' He says calmly.
'That's because you always stay in the shadows, Gladion. I didn't see you either.' You say, laughing. Daisy puts a hand on the edgy man's shoulder:
'I didn't see either of you, I was taking care of the wounded Pokémon at the docks.'
You smile as you hear that:
'Well then, now that that's sorted, I'm really tired, so we should probably all go to bed. Hau, you can sleep on the couch if you want. As for the others except for Lillie, I think you can probably sleep at Hau's house. Everyone agrees?'
All nod, and you smile:
'Well then, I wish you all a very good nigh-'
'ALOLA, COUSIN!!!'
You get interrupted by the door swinging open, and in comes the famous Pokémon professor and old friend, Kukui. He continues:
'You guys having a party without me, yeah? Seriously? I love parties, WOO!'
As he shouts the last word, he jumps onto the table and grabs some crisps from a Komala bowl you used for that purpose.

You sigh:
'Kukui, it's great to see you again, but Arceus, why so late? We were just going to call it a day...'
He grins:
'Well, cousin, I came here to say that tomorrow, you have to go to a big celebration in your honour, woo! Everyone's going to come, yeah, every single Alolan citizen, woo! You have to be there, you all do! It's a big party in your honour, yeah!'

You shake your head:
'Holy Arceus... I'll go if the others go as well?' You say, looking at the others as to ask for their opinion.
Gladion sighs and shrugs, Lillie nods excitedly, Daisy smiles, Red is quiet, and Blue jumps on the table and hugs Kukui. Only Hau didn't do anything yet. After a few seconds of thinking, he looks at Kukui and quietly asks:
'Will there be Malasada?'
Kukui laughs:
'LOTS of Malasada, cousin! It'll be the biggest party, yeah, the world has ever seen, woo!'

And with that, everyone went to bed, both excited and stressed about the next day. Lillie didn't need a place to stay, she could just lay in your bed together with you, as you two always have been doing since you confessed your love. Laying your head on the comfy pillow, you breathe in the sweet smell of Lillie's beautiful hair, and stroking it, you tell her:
'I love you, Lillie. I always have, and I'd never want to lose you. Imagine if I had really died back there, I...-'
She puts a finger on your mouth, and her other hand softly strokes your cheek:
'Shhhh, Y/n, everything is okay now. You won't die on me, nor vice versa. We'll stay together until the end of times, you'll see!'
You nod, wiping a tear away from your eye, and give her a kiss on her cheek. She giggles when you plant another one on her collarbone, and way down you go, until you have kissed every part of her beautiful body. Both laughing and panting, your bodies intertwine, and she kisses you hard with her soft lips:
'I love you too, Y/n. More than anything.'
To finish off the tender, sensual moment, you couldn't help but giving her one last kiss on her nose, softly whispering 'boop!'.
Lillie snorts and starts laughing uncontrollably. You smile too, and lay back down again, still holding her tight. You close your eyes, and soon, reality starts fading away, and makes place for sweet dreams.

You startle awake, suddenly realising no one is laying next to you. You quickly get up, before suddenly realising the sound of the shower coming into your ear. You smile and lay back down again, and after a few minutes, the sound stops, and a smiling Lillie comes out:
'How do I look?' She asks, making a twirl like a model, but no model could possibly look so good. She was wearing the same dress as during the night you confessed to her, and you couldn't keep your eyes off her:
'Marvelous...' You say, not really knowing what else to say, as there were no words that could describe the beauty.
She wasn't wearing any makeup or other accessories, but that made her even more beautiful to you. You grin when it suddenly appears to you you're still half-naked:
'I should probably... dress up a bit as well.'
Lillie chuckles cutely, as always:
'Yeah, I want this body all for my own, cover it up quickly!' She says teasingly, sticking out her tongue for a second. You laugh, quickly choose a fitting outfit to wear and change.

Mom immediately approaches you when you come downstairs, and gives you a long hug:
'My boy, look at you! You've grown up so fast...'
You smirk:
'Yes, yes, mum, I know... Now, off we go! Lillie and I will see you there!'
She smiles:
'Are you not forgetting someone?'
You turn around and see Hau, still in his pyjamas, watching Natuto.
You approach him from behind and teasingly scream in his ear:
'BOO!'
He jumps and quickly runs off when he realises you're all dressed up and ready to go. Lillie rests her head on your chest, and together, you chuckle for a while, before heading off to the celebration with Hau by your side as well.

'BOOM'
The beautiful colours of the fireworks catch your eye, along with the loud bangs of the explosions. You smile, hold Lillie's hand a little tighter, and give her a little nod as you greet everyone congratulating you.
All the Trial Captains and the Elite Four were there, along with Kukui, Mom and Samson Oak. Kiawe and his Marowaks were spinning their lit bones around in circles again, and you suddenly got a deja vu...

'Y/n?'
'Yes, Lillie?'
'I'd like to see Tapu Koko, to thank him for saving Nebby.'
You see your old self grabbing Lillie's hand, and together, the two head off into the shadows, off to Mahalo Trail.

'Y/n? ... Y/n?'
You suddenly shake your head, rub your eyes, and see the real Lillie staring at you:
'Is everything okay?'
You smile:
'Yes, of course! Sorry, I just had a flashback from when we last had a party here...'
She chuckles, and gives you a quick kiss:
'Awe, that's sweet! I wish we could go back to see the Tapu, but we have more important things to do right now... your speech, for example!'
You smirk:
'Yea- Wait what?! What speech?'
Lillie starts chuckling even more, which made her cheeks flush, which made her look even cuter:
'Well, why shouldn't we give a speech? I'm sure everyone would enjoy hearing the news of victory from the champion himself!'
You throw your arm around her shoulder and give her a kiss on her flushed cheek:
'The champion and his adorable girlfriend!'
She slaps your shoulder teasingly, before heading off to the newly built podium.

Hau was sitting in front of the podium, eating a big box full of Malasada. You give him a pat on the head:
'C'mon, Hau, we have to give a speech!'
'Almhmready?' He asks, unable to speak properly because of his full mouth. You grab his arm and pull him onto the podium with you.

The crowd started laughing, and you smiled and put an arm in the air:
'Citizens of Alola! Today is a great day! We are all assembled here to celebrate our big victory over Team Rocket, Galactic, Flare and Plasma!'
Everyone cheered, and you saw Gladion, Daisy, Blue and Red, and Ash and Serena smile at you. You blush slightly, and continue:
'For those who don't know the story of our battles and our victory, I'm sure my good friends here will be more than glad to tell everyone about every detail. And maybe, one day, I will sit down and write everything down, so that it may pass into Alolan history.
Now, you might have changed your mind about me because it seemed like I betrayed you all, but I swear on my honour that it was all a part of the plan, and I've always stayed true to Alola and its inhabitants, and to my friends. So now, I think it is about time I resume my duties as your champion!'
Everyone gathered cheered and yelled your name, and you smiled and bowed your head as Hau officially declared you're Alola's champion again.
'Y/n! Y/n! Y/n!'
Lillie gives you a kiss on your cheek as you take her hand and head back into the crowd again.
Gladion shakes your hand:
'Champion Y/n! It's been some time since I heard that! I look forward to battling you again someday!'
Your smile turns even brighter when Blue falls in:
'Yes! And I look forward to beating you someday!'
'Not in a thousand years, Blue.'

Red opened his mouth to say something, but Daisy grabbed his arm:
'C'mon, Red, let's go get some Malasada together! I've heard they're really special in Alola!'

Soon, Ash and Serena approach you, and Ash extends his hand as an apology:
'Y/n, I'm sorry for being annoying to you in the past, but I've learnt my lesson during my time in Kalos. I hope I can make it up to you one day.'
You smile:
'Apology accepted, Ash. Gladly.' You say, shaking his hand, and giving him a short bro hug. Next, Serena comes a bit closer, blushing cutely:
'Champion Y/n, congratulations on your appointment! I hope we can all see eachother more often from now on!'
You grab Lillie's hand:
'I'm sure we would like that. And I owe you my thanks, and my life. Without your Xerneas, I probably wouldn't be here now. If there's anything I can ever do for you or Ash, you know where to find me.'
Serena's bright smile cheered you up, and with Lillie in your arms, your head on her shoulder, you looked over the entire festival, and felt happier than ever.

For one second, your hand unnoticeably goes into your pocket.
'It's still there. Good.' You think, as you still feel the object you hid there.

Suddenly, you recognise a cute voice calling out to you:
'Y/n?'
You turn around and see one of your dearest friends you haven't seen in a long time: Dawn!
To her side was a young, fancy man with green hair. He was even wearing a green bowtie.

They both approach you, and you run over to them to give Dawn a long hug:
'Dawn! I've missed you so much! Where have you been? Why did you leave? Who is this?'
She chuckles:
'Everything in time, Y/n. One, I missed you too! Two, I've been to Unova, where I met this beautiful man, Cilan! That's three!'
She extends her arm towards you and Lillie:
'Cilan, meet Y/n, the champion and Lillie, his beautiful and talented girlfriend,' she says with a wink towards Lillie, 'and Y/n, Lillie, meet Cilan, Striaton's Gym Leader and my boyfriend!'

You smile as you shake his hand as well. You agreed to do a lot of catching-up with Dawn later, but that the festival was more important for now. And for you, something far more important...

You softly put your hand on Lillie's waist:
'Love?' You whisper in her ear.
She smiles at you:
'Yes, Y/n? Is something wrong?'
You shake your head:
'No, no... I wanted to ask... if you maybe wanted to go to some other place with me, somewhere more quiet... where we can enjoy our company more?'
Lillie grins:
'That sounds a bit weird, but I know what you mean, love! Lead the way!' She answers, smiling. You chuckle too, and together, you sneak away, mount Charizard, and fly off. You already knew where to.

'Exeggutor Island!' Lillie exclaims, both surprised and excited. You give her a kiss, and smile at her, gazing into her beautiful eyes.
'I thought there wasn't any better secluded place to be together for a while, just us.'
She smiles cutely:
'You're right! I remember the first time we went here, I-' Lillie says, when it suddenly starts to rain. You immediately find shelter in the same cave as before, and soon, you're all comfy in eachother's arms, warm and cozy.
You take a deep breath and choose your words carefully:
'Lillie...'
'Yes, Y/n?'
'I want to ask you something.'
She gently puts her hand on your cheek:
'Go ahead.'
You smile at her:
'Where do I start... we've been through a lot together, Lillie. Ever since I met you, I've always felt like there was something special between us.'
'I feel that way too.'
You nod and continue:
'I know, and we've had amazing times as a couple, and I would never want those times to end, Lillie... when we first came here, I already knew we would come back here together as a couple, one day. I didn't know how, when or why, but I just knéw it, deep down. Everything we've been through together, in Alola and in Kanto, have all lead up to this moment, and there's no one I'd rather be with right here, right now.'
You pause for a second, and Lillie starts  tearing up:
'Awe, Y/n, I feel the same...'
You give her a quick kiss, and feel like you've made Lillie wait long enough now. You grab the little box in your back, and right then, the skies became bright and clear again, and a beautiful rainbow appeared on the horizon, shining brightly. You pull the little box out of your pocket, and open it to reveal a fancy ring with a beautiful green crystal, which fitted her eyes perfectly:
'Lillie, you're the love of my life, and I want to share every moment of my life with you, forever, if you would want so too. I love you, Lillie, and I'll never stop doing so... Lillie, my love, will you marry me?'

Aaand there we have it! The end of this long, long story! Probably long to read, and darn long to write, almost two years now. I don't know yet what I'll do next. Writing a sequel surely sounds interesting, but as you may know (or see, knowing that Lillie and Y/n only got together in chapter 18 xD), I like writing about falling in love more than writing about couples. So I don't really know if I want to write a sequel, at least not yet. I think I'll write another Pokémon story though, maybe about another gen. Maybe one with Steven and May to switch things up... or a Y/n and Serena one! Jesus, even one with Cynthia would be possible (... although, wait, didn't she have kids...? Maybe not, then xD).
I mean, even my collaboration with Wanderer, Ascension, isn't finished yet, so maybe that's an idea. Or I still have my Zelda story, but I'm still not really into Zelda again yet...

Finally, I want to thank my girlfriend maliciousbraixen. Ever since I met her, she has been my biggest inspiration to this story. While reading through this story again, I realised Lillie had slowly begun to grow into her, and Y/n into me. I've also added some of the little things we do/did into this story. Things aren't great between us right now, and I don't think it'll ever get better (random chapter about that coming soon), but I still want to thank her for being here for me, and to thank her for being such an amazing girlfriend to me. I'm glad my first girlfriend turned out to be you, and I wouldn't choose anyone else.
